Annazette (Paige) Lewis was born August 31, 1963 in Bakersfield Ca. to the late Corda Ray Paige Sr. and Ada L. (Paige) Lewis. As a toddler she moved to Joliet IL, where she attended school and graduated from Joliet East High School in 1982.

After having her first son Cordell, she moved to Columbia, Mo., here she met and married James McBride. To that union she had sons Jeremy and Keenan Paige.

She moved back to Illinois briefly, moving to Jefferson City, Mo. While living in Jefferson City she attended Columbia College and worked at Algoa Correctional Center as a correctional officer. Annazette and her family moved back to Illinois where she resided until her passing.

Annazette joined Progressive C.O.G.I.C under the late Pastor James B. Alford,and gave her life to Christ while attending Progressive Life Giving Word Cathedral under Apostle Donald L. Alford Sr., and later attended Able Ministries under Pastors James and Coleda Blair, as well as Christ Vision Community Church under Apostle Ernest Jones where she had became a “Minister In Training” .

Annazette loved being with family, she enjoyed family gatherings and trips. Even when her health was failing if there was a family get together she made sure that she was there. She always said she wanted a daughter and that dream came true in 2000 when her eldest granddaughter Jada Paige was born, she raised her and cherished every moment they had together. Later in her life she found love again when she met her late husband Rodney Lewis.

Annazette had the ability to recall memories no matter how old, and she never forgot a face. She always made friends, and had an infectious laugh. She was always someone you could talk to about anything . No matter what life threw at her she never complained.

Annazette’s favorite verse was, “No weapon formed against me shall prosper,” and that is how she lived her life. Every time she got sick she would say I shall live and not die, but this time God called her home and her fight is over.

She is preceded in death by; her father, and stepfather, maternal and paternal grandparents, and her beloved late husband Rodney Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mom Ada L. Lewis, Sisters, Toyce (David) Price, Coleda (James) Blair, Brother Corda Ray (Melissa) Paige Jr. Sons, Cordell (Trista) Paige, Jeremy (Tommi) Paige, and Keenan Paige. Her grandchildren; Deasia, Jada, Caleb, Mackenzie, Jujuan, Cordell Jr., Di’lon, Tyren, Tainell, Damarion, Makhia, Deon, Milan, Zion, Dakota, and Dakari. Stepmother Carla Paige, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and a host of friends, special friends James, McBride, Brett Johnson, and Eric Mendenhall, and a very special cousin Denise Johnson.

She also leaves her beloved dog Chloe.

Zette, when you get sick and go into the hospital you would always say momma I don’t want to die-my sweet daughter you did not die, you went to sleep and woke up in your new home-I have comforting in knowing that your suffering days are over-I love you so very much and will miss calling and you would also say -I’m fine-now I know you are fine.

Love Momma Zette, as I take a backwards look over your life, the word “Selflessness” appears in my mind. You have always put others before you. You even sacrificed your happiness to make others happy. You were content just being around family, especially your sons. You are a living example of what it means to take your eyes off the world. You never held on to the world or it’s possessions. Your humbleness is 2nd to none. I love you so much.

To my sister, Im blessed to call you sister I also can call you friend. You loved me unconditionally through thick and thin.

You been my inspiration as we grew up through the years. I will miss our conversations about these doggone kids. Your laughter was contagious like a medicine for the soul.’ Rest in Peace my sister you have fought to the End Love you Co-Co There are no words that can express how much I love you. My heart hurts because I’m going to miss you and our talks, and your laughter. Even when we took family pictures you always stood next to me, I know you still are here, not in flesh, but in spirit. Gone but never forgotten.

mom, but I always thought it would be once you were old and lived an extraordinary life. There are no words that can describe someone who is everything mother and person should be. You were your sons’ biggest cheerleader, when we would say you can’t, you would say we could. Your last words to me were, I am proud of you son, and those words will stay with me forever. I will miss you so much, and heaven has gained an angel, that is probably up there laughing right now.

One thing I can say is you saw your three boys become three grown men, and we owe it to you. You have taught us compassion, forgiveness, and how to truly love. I thank you; I honor you, and cherish you. We will meet again, until that day I will continue to make you proud.

Jeremy Dear grandma Even though your not physically here I know your here in spirt. You had a love for your grandchildren like no other. It saddens me that the younger ones will not fully understand but God will bring them understanding like he brought me ! We are all going to make it even though It might be hard to learn how to live without you, because we never had to, but I know God will bring us peace during this time. It’s going to get harder before it gets eaiser. I stopped crying over death and started celebrating a new happy, healthy life that you’ve always wanted ! We will be okay, knowing you will be okay, We Love You, Jada Dear Mama, This is the hardest thing for me. I’m still in shocked that your physically not here, but I know you in a better place have been totally healed. Knowing that you are a God fearing woman & gave us the pathway to Christ, I will forever cherish our

I just knew that I had more time with you. I was never worried because you always bounced back like nothing even happened. You are a soldier, in so many ways we’re just alike. I never imagined I would have to conjure up the strength to do this. Knowing you’re not suffering is helping me not suffer.

The fact that you got to witness all of us doing well and saved, active for the Kingdom, and became the force that drive your sons closer. I have my moments but I know where you are.

One thing you don’t have to worry about is me stopping what I’m doing for God, and bringing souls to Christ.

I saw how happy that made you, so you’re my inspiration to go harder.

I just knew you’d be there to see me preach my first sermon, me making you a church mother. I promise I’ll carry your name every where I go. You’ll forever be in my heart. I know God is directing my path, but I’m sure you’re next to him making sure things go right! I thought I could do this without crying, but I miss you so much already.

Do me a favor, Whisper in God ear for me and tell him your boys need a little extra strength.
