Recreation is about more than filling a calendar. Recreation creates opportunities to play, learn, connect and try something new. This guide brings together youth programs, teen activities, sports, creative classes, special events and community spaces for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or one of the familiar faces we see every week, we hope you’ll find something in this guide that gets you up, gets you out, and gets you active.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM GRADES K–5 A fun, safe place to spend the afternoon! Kids can hang out with friends, play games, get creative with crafts, stay active and enjoy a variety of supervised activities after the school day ends. BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM GRADES K–5 Monday is late-start day—but your workday isn’t? Before School Program gives families a convenient childcare option where kids can play, hang out with friends and stay busy until it’s time for school on Mondays. Transportation to school is available!

TODDLER TAKEOVER AGES 5 & UNDER Bring the wheels—we'll provide the space! Little riders can cruise the indoor track on bikes, trikes, scooters and other kid-powered wheels in a safe space just for them.

PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT You get a night out—they get a night of fun! Drop the kids off with us for an evening of pizza, movies, board games, crafts and more while you enjoy a few kid-free hours. YOUTH + FAMILY KIDS PAINT NIGHT Calling all young artists! Join us for a fun, step-bystep painting night where kids can get creative and make their own masterpiece to take home. FAMILY GAME NIGHTS Put down the screens and pick up a game! Bring the whole family for a relaxed night of board games, card games and friendly competition. INTERNATIONAL CRIBBAGE DAY Celebrate International Cribbage Day with us! Whether you already know how to play or want to learn, stop by for a few hands of this classic card game. Cribbage is fun for all ages and a great way to practice counting, sharpen focus and give your memory a workout. Kids, adults, beginners and experienced players are all welcome! SUPERHERO TRAINING ACADEMY Calling all heroes! Every superhero needs training before they’re ready to save the day! Young heroes will create their own superhero identity, complete action-packed training challenges, test their speed and agility, practice their superpowers and work together on a special rescue mission. Every recruit who completes their training will graduate as an official Quincy Recreation Superhero! LEGO BUILD CHALLENGE Ready, set, BUILD! Each month brings a brand-new LEGO challenge designed to get builders thinking, creating and having fun. No instructions. No wrong answers. Just BUILD! 1st Monday of the Month • Oct–Feb • 5:30-7pm Recreation Activity Center All Ages FREE
NERF WARS Grab your blaster and get ready to play! Nerf Wars range from casual open play to structured games and challenges, so every event is a little different. Bring your own Nerf-style blaster and join the fun! Eye protection is required for participants under 18 and recommended for all other participants. TEEN NIGHT Friday nights are for hanging out! Teen Night is a casual, self-led space for teens to spend time with friends, meet new people and just enjoy having somewhere to go. Play video games, shoot hoops, break out a board game, be artistic, listen to music or simply… hang out! The night is yours! ADULT OPEN VOLLEYBALL Just show up and play! Join us for casual, drop-in volleyball with plenty of friendly competition and court time. SPRING YOUTH SOCCER REGISTRATION Get ready to hit the field this spring! Quincy Youth Soccer is all about learning the game, building skills, staying active and having fun with teammates. Registration opens in mid-February, so watch for details and get your player signed up for the spring season! Volunteers needed! Registration Opens Mid-February All games played in Quincy Youth with birthdates: August 1, 2014–July 31, 2022 40/46 per player, one free registration for coaches

WINTER CORNHOLE LEAGUE Grab a partner and start tossing! Join us for six weeks of friendly cornhole competition, laughs and plenty of bags in the air. DROP-IN CORNHOLE AT THE SENIOR CENTER Come toss a few bags with us! We had such a great time playing cornhole at the Senior Center last year that we’re bringing it back. ADULT PAINT NIGHTS No experience needed—just come ready to create! Follow along with step-by-step instruction to create your own painting while enjoying a relaxed, social night out. We provide all the supplies, the instruction and the cleanup—you bring the creativity! All supplies provided!

BABYSITTER TRAINING Ready to start babysitting—or become a more confident sitter? This American Red Cross course helps young people learn how to safely care for infants and children, handle common emergencies, make good decisions and build the skills needed to be a responsible babysitter.

FIRST AID + CPR TRAINING Learn skills that can make a difference when it matters most. This American Red Cross course teaches participants how to recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and other first aid situations. QUINCY PARTNERSHIP FOR YOUTH JUST A PREVIEW
Quincy Partnership for Youth COMMUNITY PARTNER Quincy Partnership for Youth (QPY) is a local coalition working with youth, families, schools, businesses, and community organizations to promote substance use prevention and safe, healthy, and drug-free youth opportunities in Quincy, Crescent Bar, Sunland, and George. Together, we work to: · Support safe and healthy youth activities in our community during high-risk times · Offer parent and family education programs, like the Strengthening Families Program (ages 10–14) · Empower youth through leadership and prevention trainings · Share substance use prevention resources and information for parents and youth · Host Prescription Drug Take Back Days · Share safe medication storage and disposal information · Raise awareness during prevention events throughout the year We meet once a month to plan projects, support community events, share educational resources, and explore ways to improve our community to keep youth and families safe.
