Note from the Editor Welcome to the April 2015 issue of Queen Size Magazine. This month’s issue is dedicated to Natural Hair Divas and to National Jazz Day. My hats go off to all that have joined the “Team National” bandwagon. This is not an easy journey to be on. Many have jumped off and went back to the creamy crack (Perms) because they didn’t have the patience. It is also an expensive journey because we all know that all things that are good for you will cost you more money. I have been on my natural hair journey now for about seven years and I couldn’t be more proud.

We also chose to pay homage to National Jazz Day, which is April 20th. Jazz is referred to as America’s classical music. It is one of North America’s oldest and most celebrated musical genres. The history of jazz can be traced back to the Unites States in the early part of the 20th century. Jazz has been a part of a proud African American tradition for over 100 years and can be found integrated in many other genres of music. For me it is the perfect music to kick back and relax to. Natalie Dawn, plus model and founder of E.F.F it Campaign, which stands for Extraordinary Fearless and Free, is an ambitious young woman looking to inspire and uplift young women and teens across the globe. She currently resides in Durham, North Carolina where she works with special needs children and veterans. Ms. Dawn has been seen ripping the runway for Ashley Stewart at Karen Clark-Sheard’s Women’s Empowerment and other local events to include working as a promotions model for John Casablanca’s Modeling and Career Center. Mr. K. Reed is a Photographer and a Los Angeles, California native. Although he was born and raised in California, his family roots stem from Atlanta Georgia and Memphis TN. He’s a man that truly understands the privilege of controlling and functioning a camera on a professional level. To have the power to freeze and capture a moment is priceless in his eyes. There’s a quote that he read that goes “All life is, is a series of moments. So cherish every moment that you have, because in a moment, it will be gone”. Its quotes like this one that encourages Mr. Reed to pick up a camera. By capturing moments in time allows the viewer to reminisce and/ or experience some type of emotion or feeling. A smile, some form of happiness, or simply sparking a train of thought in someone’s mind gives him fulfillment. Simply because by thinking; the world has been blessed by thoughts becoming reality. Through Photography he aims to touch the world one photo at a time. As a business owner, he has a strong desire to serve the community. Mr. Reed enjoys Nature and Landscape Photography, Street photography, Portraits, Fancy Portraits, Architectural Photography, Fashion Photography, Action Shots and the list goes on. He refuses to place himself in a box, by just practicing one form of photography. He aims to find the beauty in all things. Here’s a guy that just loves to shoot. With a architecture back ground, and construction Mr. Reed has an unique eye. His goal is to live life, remain humble, stay in good health, and love the journey.
