FROM THE DESK OF Tawana Blassingame Founder & Editor in Chief

I have learned to never get stagnant or complacent. This applies to all areas in your life. Each day should bring some level of growth. When I began Queen Size Magazine ten years ago, I vowed that with each turn of the year I would bring something fresh to the magazine. And I stayed true to that. These changes are usually planned out at least two years in advance so we can properly prepare for them. Well as you all know, we celebrated ten years in publication back in June. It was a proud day for me because so many people told me that I would never survive in the magazine business. Whelp! QSM is still here and we are still going strong. So while this news is a bit bitter sweet, a change is needed. QSM will be getting a major facelift. We are going fully digital providing free content for our readers to have access to. YEP! That means no more print issues. Told you it was bittersweet. As they magazine world evolves, we must evolve as well, or risk being left behind. January 1st will be the big reveal of our new website. Stay tuned to our social media for all the great updates and the reveal of our new logo. A sincere thank you to all of you for continuing to support Queen Size Magazine. We would love to hear your feedback. Email us at queensizemagazine@gmail.com and let us know what you like, don’t like and/or want to see in future issues. We value your opinion. Be blessed and remember to be a blessing as well. Photo by Philip Drew @pdrewphotography

To make turkey club: Spread 2-3 teaspoons aioli on four bread slices. Spread watercress on top of aioli. Top watercress with turkey, cheese and remaining bread slices. Spray grill pan, electric skillet or cast-iron skillet with nonstick cooking spray and warm over medium heat. When pan is hot, add sandwiches, cheese side down, and cook until bread is golden brown and cheese has melted, about 4 minutes. Gently flip and cook 2-3 minutes, or until bread is golden brown. Serve with remaining aioli as dipping sauce.

NUTRITIOUS FALL MEALS | FAMILY FEATURES With a return to busy fall routines, it can be challenging for many families to find the time to sit down at the table for nutritious meals. Adding an option like Florida Orange Juice to your family’s routine can help fuel them throughout the day. Whether drinking it on its own or by adding it to recipes like Grilled Turkey Club with Orange Juice-Infused Aioli or Orange Cream Smoothies, you can feel good about incorporating a beverage with essential vitamins and minerals, nutrients for immune system support and no added sugars. Diet and nutritional benefits: Both nutritious and delicious, drinking 100% orange juice can increase fruit intake as well as provide key nutrients including vitamin C, potassium, folate, thiamin and magnesium, as well as vitamin D and calcium in fortified juice. Research has found children whose diets include orange juice tend to have healthier diets and higher levels of physical activity compared to those whose do not. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting 100% fruit juice to no more than 4-6 ounces daily for children ages 2-6 and no more than 8 ounces for children ages 7 and older. Immune support: 100% orange juice can help support the immune system by providing a variety of vitamins and minerals. For example, an 8-ounce glass of 100% orange juice is an excellent source of vitamin C, which helps protect cells and promote the production and function of immune cells. An 8-ounce serving of fortified 100% orange juice is a good source of vitamin D, which plays an important role in regulating immune response to help fight off

7

bacteria and viruses that get into the body. Additionally, 100% orange juice has many beneficial plant compounds, flavonoids and colorful carotenoids, which work to support the immune system by fighting inflammation and helping cells communicate with each other. No added sugar: Unlike many foods and beverages that contain added sugars, the natural sugar in 100% orange juice comes with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. In fact, a study published in “Frontiers in Nutrition” found children and adults who consumed 100% orange juice had lower intakes of added sugar compared to those who did not. “Today, children are consuming fewer fruits and vegetables and missing out on key vitamins and minerals,” said Dr. Rosa Walsh, scientific research director at the Florida Department of Citrus. “Many children have inadequate intake of folate, riboflavin, thiamin, vitamin C, vitamin D, potassium, iron and zinc. This doesn’t have to be the case. A glass of 100% orange juice is a convenient option, according to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, that counts toward fruit intake and one I know children love. Parents should make sure to look for 100% orange juice on the container. This ensures you are serving a nutrient-dense beverage with no added sugar.” Visit floridajuice.com to find more nutritious recipes.

5 Simple, Natural Ways to Boost Immunity Your body’s immune system protects against illness and infection, fighting off threats before you even know there’s a problem. Even though your immune system usually does its job automatically, you can give it a boost with habits that promote wellness and support immunity. Eat healthy fruits and vegetables. Although you may not be aware they contain flavonoids, these phytochemicals found in some fruits and veggies are a vital part of maintaining health. Flavonoids are found in colorful fruits and vegetables like cranberries and elderberries. When it comes to power foods, elderberries’ exceptional flavanol levels make them an immune system powerhouse. Especially important during cold and flu season, elderberries can also be enjoyed in a cup of warm tea for instant comfort. Reduce stress with outdoor activity. Keeping physically fit provides numerous health benefits such as reducing stress by being one with nature through taking a walk outside. The sun’s UV rays help your body produce vitamin D, which is important for your bones, blood cells and immune system, as well as helping absorb and use certain nutrients. Yoga and massage can also be used to help stimulate the immune WWW.QUEENSIZEMAGAZINE.COM|DECEMBER 2021 ISSUE

system and promote well-being. Keep a regular sleep schedule. Sleep gives you an opportunity to recharge. This is when cellular regeneration and other healing is most efficient. Keeping a regular routine helps signal to your system that it’s time to rest so you can fall asleep easier and reap the whole-body benefits of a healthy sleep cycle. Wash hands frequently. Especially during the school year, when germs are rampant and easily carried from school to home, you can give your immune system a hand, literally, by frequently scrubbing away germs before they have the chance to attack. Rely on natural remedies. Modern, stressful lifestyles and exposure to environmental pollutants can put immune systems under pressure. However, some of your existing soothing rituals can actually support better health, too. One example is relaxing with a hot cup of tea. The natural and organic ingredients found in Buddha Teas provide numerous health benefits. Options like Mushroom Wellness, Divine Immunity, Elderberry Tea and Reishi Mushroom blends all contain immunity-boosting ingredients.

5 SIMPLE NATURAL WAYS TO BOOST IMMUNITY | FAMILY FEATURES

While they’re not an obvious ingredient, mushrooms have been incorporated into healing practices for thousands of years for their immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich properties. There are several powerful medicinal mushrooms but one stand-out is the reishi mushroom, known as the “mushroom of immortality” and “divine plant of longevity.” This anti-inflammatory powerhouse is known to promote healthy cell growth and healthy blood pressure, along with improving immune function. Learn more about boosting your immunity naturally at buddhateas.com. A Golden Way to Get Better Sleep While golden milk has become a trendy beverage of choice, this comforting, herbfilled blend is actually ancient. For thousands of years, golden milk has been an Ayurvedic ritual, with Indian families enjoying a warm nightly cupful before bed. In Ayurvedic medicine, turmeric, the main component in golden milk, is thought to impart the energy of the sun to the body, hence its radiant, golden color. Turmeric’s documented healing properties impart

9

substance to this traditional “elixir,” and have given golden milk a reputation as a healing cup of comfort. In addition to improving physical and mental well-being, regularly drinking golden milk has the potential to lessen your chance of becoming ill in the first place. It’s also an antiinflammatory that supports healthy digestion and promotes calm. This turmeric-dominant blend includes ginger root and black pepper to aid digestion; ashwagandha to tonify, energize and calm; and cardamom, nutmeg and vanilla bean, all meant to encourage rejuvenation and peace. Consider an option like Buddha Teas’ CBD Organic Golden Milk, which includes a THC-free CBD isolate for added wellness benefits. Prepared by mixing with a warm cup of your favorite milk, the smooth, slightly sweet, pungent brew offers a soothing treat just before bed. Many people also enjoy golden milk prepared cold. Kristal Suarez-Perez I am Kristal Suarez-Perez, a 15 year old plussize aspiring model. I was born in Puerto Rico but I am currently living in the sunshine state, Jacksonville, Florida. Throughout my time in school I have taken on many passions. I was admitted into a medical program in my high school to pursue a career when I get out of high school. It is one of my many choices that I do not regret doing. Besides pursuing a medical career, I have taken on a hobby of painting and writing. I even discovered it can be a helpful stress reliever to paint and draw when I feel overwhelmed. I recently began writing my own fiction novel. I challenge myself as much as I can to show that just because I’m young does not mean that I am not smart or successful. During my time here I’ve dealt with lots of challenges including the mentally straining obstacle that corrupts

society’s minds. Anxiety. Having anxiety puts a difficult toll on the actions and motivation you have. But, in all my hardships I’ve dealt with through my childhood and teen years I always try my very best to be strong and fierce. Being plus size is another factor that gets hated on a lot. In my elementary school all the way to high school I didn’t feel that people could understand the way us powerful young people feel. And although I dealt with hate and negative stereotypes of how a “woman” should look like, I never let society bring me down. And when I started believing their words, I focused on the times I got up not when I fell. Because, “beauty” is not one image it is millions of different ones. And as I model I will spread that message bringing out my fearlessly wonderful self for all of the world to see.

3 TIPS FOR SHINIER, HEALTHIER-LOOKING HAIR Whether you’re attending a rescheduled wedding, reentering the workplace or just want to look your best this fall, shiny tresses look good with every outfit and on every occasion. However, if your locks are looking a bit dull, don’t stress -- experts say that not only is it completely typical to need a bit of a refresh this time of year, but that this is an issue you can resolve on your own. “Every head of hair needs a bit of postsummer TLC,” says Jonathan Colombini, celebrity hairstylist. “The good news is that you don’t need to wait for your next salon appointment. This can also be achieved at home.” Here are Colombini’s top secrets for keeping your hair glossy and gorgeous on a daily basis at home: Eat for Hair Health A hair-healthy diet can promote hair growth and shine. Be sure your diet includes important vitamins and nutrients like iron, biotin, protein and vitamins A and C. On a daily basis, eat a wide range of whole fruits and vegetables and good-for-you sources of protein and iron, such as lentils, nuts and fish. Use an At-Home Treatment A toning gloss is a service typically performed in a hair salon to enhance hair color, tone and shine, and now you can give yourself this same treatment at home with no special professional skills required. Suitable for all hair types and textures, as well as both color-treated and natural hair, the new Le Color Gloss by L’Oreal enhances color and tone, boosts shine and deeply conditions in one step, to leave hair looking healthy. Available in nine shades, you can tone the color you have or use the clear option for a shine-enhancing, ultramoisturizing hair treatment. Whichever your preference, here’s how to use the product most effectively: Photo by Akandwanaho TarzanLyts from Pexels WWW.QUEENSIZEMAGAZINE.COM|DECEMBER 2021 ISSUE

3 TIPS FOR SHINIER, HEALTHIER-LOOKING HAIR | STATEPOINT

1. Evenly distribute Le Color Gloss through clean, damp hair all the way through the ends (use a wide-tooth comb for thicker curly hair textures). 2. Leave it on for 5-15 minutes. (Review instructions for specific development time for your shade and desired result.) 3. Rinse your hair thoroughly with water. “While the effect lasts around 10 days, you can build a deeper result and maintain shiny hair and a fresh-looking hair color tone by repeating the routine once a week,” says Colombini. “I recommend using it in the shower on your shampoo day.” Some toning products can damage hair, so be sure to look at the ingredients of the product you select. As Colombini points out, Le Color Gloss is made of a coconut oilinfused deep conditioning base and is color-

19

and keratin- safe, making it a great way to promote shine without causing damage. To learn more, visit lorealparisusa.com. Rinse Cold While warm water works best for washing hair, you should always rinse with cold water. This is because cold water helps to seal the cuticles that were just opened to reflect light better and give your hair a healthy-looking shine. Don’t wait for a special occasion or for your next salon visit. With the right strategies, shiny hair can be an everyday indulgence for you this fall season and beyond. Article by StatePoint Media

DRINKING YOUR WATER & TAKING YOUR VITAMINS LEADS TO HEALTHY HAIR PART ONE

THE ROAD TO HEALTHIER HAIR..... | CRYSTAL D. LEWIS I am a true believer on this often because it is EXTREMELY important. Researchers have found that as little as 1% dehydration negatively impacts your mood, memory, and motor coordination. The human body comprises around 60% to 90% water. When you lose water in your body and you do not replace it with more water, bad things happen inside your body. Your kidneys start to cling onto water, which means that you are urinating less frequently. You want to know what your kidneys do? They filter your blood every single minute (literally, a half cup of blood per minute) and remove waste and extra water that makes you urinate. You need your kidneys to take out your body’s trash (e.g., toxins). When your kidneys cannot function because you are dehydrated your body has no way of taking out the trash. Get out of your kidney’s way and let them do their job! Our bodies operate as a system, all our organs depend on each other. If your kidneys are too busy hoarding water to take out the trash, your blood becomes thicker and more concentrated. The thicker the blood, the harder it is for your cardiovascular system (aka, your heart) to do its job. When your kidneys slow down the heart gets confused, there are a LOT of bad things that happen when your heart has to work harder to pump your blood. So, if you enjoy doing things like living, exercising, walking, or anything else that requires an elevated heart rate, I would strongly suggest drinking water. Plus Mild dehydration (fluid loss of 1–3%) can impair energy levels, impair mood, and lead to major reductions in memory and brain performance. Drinking water may also help reduce headaches and headache symptoms. However, more high-quality research is needed to confirm this potential benefit. Drinking plenty of water may help prevent and relieve constipation, especially in people who generally don’t drink enough water. Hangovers are partly caused by dehydration, and drinking water can help reduce some of the main symptoms of hangovers. Lol, so my tip on this is to have a side of room temperature water while you are having your cocktails. Hear other benefits to drinking water: *Anti-aging effects on the skin (your skin is the largest organ in your body. You want your skin to feel like it’s baby smooth, not Death Valley). *This also includes wrinkle reduction! Not that wrinkles can’t be beautiful, but when you are

23

dehydrated you can see it in your face and skin. *Improved physical performance (it’s easier to walk, exercise, etc.) AMEN *Weight management *Increased energy levels *Improved digestion *Helps your body take out the toxin trash (your kidneys will thank you for it). This happens through urination and perspiration, both are important. *Lubricates your joints (helps your bones out) *Regulates your temperature *Helps your brain *Jump starts your organs (especially when you are drinking more water in the morning) *Helps with your bowel movements How much water should I drink? I am glad you asked this very important question. • About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids for women • About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids for men This is your minimum. I do suggest more especially if you drink coffee and or alcohol. Tips for Staying Hydrated: • Drink a cup of water right when you wake up • Drink a cup about 30-minutes before a meal • Drink a cup right before bed • Before, after, and during exercise • Always have water on hand! Get yourself a fancy water bottle and carry it around with you wherever you go. This will quickly turn into a habit and lugging around a big bottle will remind you to drink more water. **It may seem inconvenient, but believe me, it’s way more convenient than all the health problems dehydration can create. • Try making your own spa water by adding mint, cucumbers, berries, lemons, or limes to your water! • Drink a glass after meals • Order water in addition to your morning coffee at your local coffee shop. • Track your water intake! The bottom line is, even mild dehydration can affect you mentally and physically. Make sure that you get enough water each and every day, whether your personal goal is 64 ounces (1.9 liters) or a different amount. It’s one of the best things you can do for yourself. We will talk about Vitamins in the January issues. A healthy body will give you healthy hair.

Why Women’s Feet Hurt More in Autumn and What You Can Do About It As the weather cools and women switch from open to closed shoe styles, the transition can be painful. According to Dr. Thanh Dinh, DPM, FACFAS, a foot and ankle surgeon and president of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) two of the most common types of pain women feel in their feet in autumn come from bunions and hammertoes. The ACFAS offers the following insights into treating these conditions and easing associated pain: Understanding Bunions A common myth is that tight-fitting or narrow shoes cause bunions. The truth is, bunions are genetic. However, symptoms occur most often when wearing high heels or other styles that crowd the toes. “A bunion is a change in the bony framework of the front part of the foot and is most often caused by an inherited faulty mechanical structure of the foot,” Dr. Dinh explains. “When the big toe leans towards the second toe, rather than pointing straight ahead, it throws the bones out of alignment and produces the all-too-familiar, bunion

WWW.QUEENSIZEMAGAZINE.COM|DECEMBER 2021 ISSUE

bump.” Pain from bunions most often occurs along the side of the foot near the big toe. Women sometimes describe it as a throbbing that continues even after taking off their shoes and putting up their feet. The site of the bunion can also be inflamed or red and can feel numb or have a burning sensation. Demystifying Hammertoes “A hammertoe is a ‘bending’ or contracture deformity of one or both joints of a toe,” Dr. Dinh says. “The abnormal bending puts pressure on the toe when wearing shoes and causes problems to develop -- which can start mildly and worsen over time.” Women with hammertoes can experience pain or irritation of the affected toe when wearing shoes. Corns and calluses (a buildup of skin) on the toe, between the toes or on the ball of the foot can occur from the constant friction against the shoes with hammertoes. Inflammation, redness or a burning sensation are also possible and in severe cases, open sores may form.

Next Steps Proper shoe selection and conservative treatments can go a long way in managing pain from bunions and hammertoes. Foot and ankle surgeons recommend avoiding highheeled shoes and styles that crowd the toes together, as well as using padding and taking anti-inflammatory medication. While these techniques address pain, they don’t generally stop bunions or hammertoes from getting worse. Surgery is commonly performed by foot and ankle surgeons to both correct the deformities and alleviate pain. 16-YEAR-OLD KAITLYN CLARK IS AN ASPIRING FASHION DESIGNER TAKING THE WORLD BY STORM

by Dr. Janelle “The Curvy Doc” Simmons

Kaitlyn Clark is a 16-year-old aspiring fashion designer and high school sophomore from Bowie, Maryland. She comes from a long list of hard-working men and women. Her mother, grandmother, aunts, and other family members have influenced her life in many ways. Her mother Kelly Clark is her biggest motivation and inspiration. Her favorite subject in school is Local and State Government. In addition to fashion, Kaitlyn began competing in pageants. She recently competed in the Miss Gorgeous Prince George’s Teen Pageant and her talent was a mini fashion show of her designs. Kaitlyn placed first runner up and won Miss. Congeniality. months and a half to learn the opening dance, figure out a talent, put together an oratory, come up with some good answers to any question you would think they may ask, and most importantly find a dress that would make me stand out. Now I’m not a perfectionist but I need to at least have the feeling that most things are going to be how I want them to be. Around this time, I was still in school which made it twice as hard. My days consisted of going to school, getting homework done, then straight to making outfits for my talent and getting my mother or friends to ask me questions so I can get better at answering head on. The hardest part was trying to find a dress for me. Every store I went to, and I saw a dress I liked, they would never have it in plus sizes. Then one day me and grandma checked Macy’s one more time and found the most perfect dress for my figure and it was for an amazing price. God was truly on my side that day. QSM: You recently competed in your first pageant, congratulations! What made you decide to join the world of pageantry? Kaitlyn: Thank you so much, I truly appreciate it. When I was in 8th grade, I remember watching a movie on Netflix called Dumpling. The movie was about a girl who wanted to show the skinny girls that plus size girls can participate in pageants too and the girl ended up coming in 1st place. I remember after the movie was done, I just looked at my mom and told her “I have to do a pageant mommy.” It was so crazy because a month later Showtime Productions came to my school trying to recruit contestants for her pageant, MIss Gorgeous Prince George’s Teen Pageant. I went to the assembly completely blown away, I just knew I had to participate and be just like the girl from Dumpling. QSM: How did you prepare for the pageant? Kaitlyn: Preparing for the pageant was probably one of the most stressful things I did in my life so far. We only had 2

QSM: What was your favorite area of competition and why? Kaitlyn: My favorite part of the whole pageant was most definitely the talent portion and question & answering part. I say the talent portion first because I literally got to put on a fashion show of my own designs. It was so amazing to me because a whole group of people got to see my hard work and designs. To me it was like a dream come true and it made my family so proud. The look on their faces was priceless! The question and answering part was where I felt like I got to truly voice my opinions on myself and the world. I remember the question I got was “If you could describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be and why?” When I tell you I got so excited cause I just love answering questions about myself. The words I chose were skilled, ambitious, and powerful. Each of those words are literally the core value of what makes me what I am today. Like to be honest those character traits are what got me right here today, doing this very interview!

QSM: Now that you’ve had some time to reflect, what would you have done differently? Kaitlyn: Not to be cocky but simply to praise myself, I did absolutely amazing for this being my first ever pageant with zero pageant experience. Like on my first try I scored first runner up, Miss Congeniality, and contestant to sell the most tickets, like who would’ve thought? Definitely not me. Things I would do differently though is making sure my talent gets better. To me it’s always room to grow and learn, also when it comes to talent you are constantly getting better. Another thing I would do differently is being more confident in myself. Now don’t get me wrong I was confident up there on the stage from my walk all the way to my answers, but I could’ve been even more confident if I wasn’t so worried about the people’s eyes on me. There were numerous times where I was scared and stuttered and that’s when my confidence got low, when it shouldn’t have. QSM: Pageantry is an endeavor in which competing in one is not enough. Which title are you seeking next? Kaitlyn: The next title that I am hoping to compete for is Miss Maryland Teen USA. Before the final day was coming up for the Miss Gorgeous Prince George’s Teen Pageant, I was sitting with my mom in the car, and I told her “If I even make it to the top three, I promise you I’m going for Miss Maryland Teen USA.” My mommy is literally my biggest supporter/fan and always tries to push me to my fullest potential, so she looked at me and said, “Baby the sky’s the limit, you got this.” When I tell you my mommy goes with everything positive, I do in life I mean it. If it wasn’t for her, I can’t even think to figure out how I would’ve made it this far in life. In times of doubt, she is always there to remind me that anything I put my mind to, I have a 100% chance of making it. I simply love my mom. QSM: You designed clothing for your pageant. Let’s talk about that. How did you get started in fashion design? Kaitlyn: My whole life I’ve always been chunky or plus size and I remember wondering why I have to go to a different section to find my clothes, that was the first red flag. I loved

watching fashion shows, like it just always been my thing. My top 2 favorite fashion shows are the Victoria Secret 2018 fashion show and the Fenty 2020 fashion show. Those were the only two popular fashion shows at the time that tried to include plus size people. To me that as a very concerning cause, come on it’s the 201st century. We are not in the old age where being plus size was frowned upon. Also 61% of the women in the USA now are plus size. So why are we so scared to accept plus size people in the fashion industry? Then that’s when I knew what my purpose was. I just knew I had to start creating outfits that plus size women would love to wear and feel confident in. My whole life slogan and business slogan is “Where an imperfect body is a perfect body” and I stand by that forever.

ENTREPRENEUR SPOTLIGHT | KAITLYN CLARK QSM: I heard your cousin recently gifted you with a sewing machine. What have you created? Kaitlyn: Let me tell you something, when she did that it was so amazing to me. Like I didn’t even expect that because I thought we were just supposed to be making bracelets and stuff, but we got to her house, and she pulled out a whole sewing machine. Between the first day I got it and the morning after I made a whole shirt that had a chain wrapped around the neck. When I tell you it was so freaking cute, it was my favorite first project on my sewing machine. Recently I’ve also made this holographic skirt that zips up in the back. And the project I’m working on now is a long skirt with 2 slits on each side. I find myself always watching videos on new tutorials and different stitch styles because like I said previously, there is always room to grow. It makes me happy doing all this designing, I feel like it’s truly my calling. QSM: Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years? Kaitlyn: In 10 years, I see myself with a bachelors and master’s degree in Fashion Business, and my business Perfectly Imperfect Clothing & Accessories will be known all over the world. I also see myself being known for making big changes in the fashion industry. My main mission is to just make sure the plus size community is included in the fashion industry. I knew how hard it was to feel accepted when I was younger so why continue to let people experience that? In 10 years, I feel like I would have accomplished that much and hope that I will be striving for more. QSM: Who are your favorite designers, if any? Is there anyone’s work that you follow? Kaitlyn: I’ve been keeping up with 2 famous

51

designers right now. I truly love Oscar Utierre, all his clothing is so cool to me, and it’s just stuff you wouldn’t think of. Like I always think to myself “how does that man do it?” Another one is Marko Monroe. Marko Monroe designs clothes for Lizzo, and let me just tell you I LOVE me some Lizzo. Like Almost everything I see Lizzo wear I fall in love with and to know Marko Monroe makes all her clothes is just so freaking amazing. I honestly can’t wait until I’m as good as them. QSM: What advice do you have for teenagers like yourself looking to compete in pageants or want to pursue fashion design? Kaitlyn: I love when people ask me this question because I also have so much to say. To anyone and when I say anyone, I literally mean anyone, do not let society’s judgment hold you back from anything you want to do in life. Life is way too short to be worrying about if the lady besides you approved of what you want your career to be. When I was younger, I’ve always looked for people’s approval of validation, but one day it hit me that most of the people I sought approval from don’t even know me anymore. Also don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Making mistakes is part of the learning and growing process. The more you fear a mistake the more you are holding yourself back from your purpose in life. and last thing for my beautiful plus size girls, your curves is the most unique and beautiful thing about being plus size. Embrace them, literally walk around with your chin held high like you’re a goddess because truly you are one. Don’t ever let someone tell you that you’re ugly because you’re not skinny, cause girl me and you both know the truth! Always love yourself.
