2021 Honoree Scott Bohrer Vice President of Merchandising The Home Depot Scott Bohrer is a Vice President of Merchandising, managing The Home Depot’s $7 billion Building Materials business. Scott came to The Home Depot in 2005 as the Vice President of Finance for The HD Supply unit. While in that role, Scott was involved in a significant number of acquisitions and integrations to help build that business. From 2006 to 2007 Scott was Vice President of Finance for the 750 store Southern Division organization. From 2007 to 2009 Scott was the Vice President of Finance for Supply Chain, including supporting the Distribution, Transportation, Delivery, Inventory Planning & Replenishment teams and the roll-out of the Rapid Deployment Center network. From 2009 to 2018, Scott was the Vice President of Finance for Merchandising, supporting Home Depot’s $90+ billion business in the US. In that role, Scott was responsible for all aspects of financial management for the Merchandising, Homedepot.com, Marketing, In-Store Environment and In-Store Service organizations. From 2018 to 2020, Scott was the Vice President of Merchandising, running Home Depot’s Décor, Storage and Organization business before moving into his current role. Prior to Home Depot, Scott was the Senior Vice President of Finance at Cendant Corporation, a diversified travel and real estate company. There, he was responsible for key areas of Cendant’s global finance organization including corporate finance, capital markets, insurance/risk management and global procurement.

Before that, Scott spent several years at Lucent Technologies in various financial roles, culminating in a position as the CFO of Lucent’s $2 billion Optical Fiber Solutions division. He helped sell that unit to outside investors in 2001 and stayed with the new company as CFO for an additional two years. Scott currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership. He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Alfred & Adele Davis Academy. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis and a Masters in Business Administration in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Sandy Springs, Georgia with his wife, Lori and their four children.

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Welcome to our Viva Las Vegas Fundraising Event. Our event committee has put together a fabulous online experience that may not be the same as our annual golf event, but we know it will be as enjoyable for you, and successful for QCP. We want to welcome and thank everyone who has been part of this event - and this wonderful relationship! We are very pleased to honor Scott Bohrer, Vice President Merchandising at The Home Depot. Earlier this year, along with other Home Depot executives, Scott met with three of our families and their loved ones, and a couple of our direct support staff. He was able to hear directly about the work we do every day, how it impacts those whom we serve, and how vital the funds raised at this event are to supporting our mission. The children and adults served by QCP have benefitted from the generosity of The Home Depot and its corporate vendors for Twenty-five years. The Golf Outing (and this year’s virtual event) has developed into QCP’s most important fund-raising event of the year. The funds raised from this event help us to continue our progress in promoting the achievements and independence of the people with developmental disabilities for whom we provide services and supports. On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, and the people we serve, we welcome you and thank you for supporting Queens Centers for Progress!

The Home Depot-QCP event is THE most important event on QCP’s calendar. For twenty-five years, the event has continued to build, and has raised millions of dollars for QCP’s programs. None of this would be possible without the relationship that has been cultivated with The Home Depot, and the people who make it their business to foster that relationship. They ensure that QCP has the additional funds needed to maintain the quality of services that we currently provide. Without this support, we would not thrive. That is where all of you come in. We want to thank YOU for being here! Your contribution to today’s event provides a better quality of life to the people whom we support. You can, and should, be proud to know that your participation enriches their lives, from the youngest in our Children’s Center to the oldest of our seniors.

To pull off this year’s virtual event has been a team effort. Let’s start with our Home Depot Team: Ro Rodriguez, Shenell Leighton and Paul Lundholm. Ro with her compassionate support, Shenell with her bounding enthusiasm and Paul, whose persistence is evident by the turnout today and the amount of money raised. To Scott Bohrer, THANK YOU for taking time to Zoom in for a virtual visit, and for your genuine concern for the individuals and the staff who support them. We are so fortunate and delighted to have you as our honoree! The other team that keeps the parts moving is our incredible event committee. Thank you ladies and gentlemen for working so hard to make this event a first-class experience for our guests. It is always our goal to create a unique event. We hope we have succeeded here on zoom this evening! Thank you to the QCP Development Team of Shaun Caruana, Jyoti Lakhani, and Lorraine Heaney; to Prudence Paul of The Home Depot; and to each and every one of you at Home Depot who acted as ambassadors for QCP in making this a success. CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE What a pleasure it is to welcome you who have “gathered” here on Zoom for the 25th QCP/ Home Depot event. I commend you for the outpouring of generosity that makes our Golf Outing the unique event it has become. This year we take unique to a new level with our Viva Las Vegas Fundraiser! It is so heartening to see familiar faces and it is our hope that you will feel the camaraderie among all of you who attend, just as you would in person! On the golf course or on Zoom - you understand the importance of supporting this event and you answered that call. We thank you for your support as we ride the end of this pandemic until we can be back in person. On behalf of the Event Committee, I congratulate Scott Bohrer, Vice President, Merchandising, and extend our appreciation to him for accepting to be our honoree. Thank you for the hard work you put in to this event.

For more than twenty years, I have had the honor of serving as the Chairman for this outstanding event. It has been my privilege to serve alongside a group of exceptional and dedicated people. While we were thrown into new territory this year, Shenell Leighton, The Home Depot’s representative on the committee, made sure that the event aligns with The Home Depot’s values and guarantees that it will be extraordinary; and to the entire event committee, a group who spends many hours planning every detail, my sincerest appreciation and gratitude to all you do. All of us on the committee share a deep devotion to QCP, its mission and the people that will benefit from this fund-raising event. A very special thank you to Ro Rodriguez. Ro has been the driving force behind this outing since the year we honored her. She knows just how vital the impact of raising funds for QCP is. A BIG thank you to Paul Lundholm for overseeing the event and making sure that all of you, from all over the country, participate and understand why we are here! Well done, Sir! Families are thankful for QCP Programs: These last two years have been horrid. Yes, my life and the whole world has changed drastically, but it’s temporary, and I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am grateful that nobody I know personally has lost their lives from COVID; that I have a wonderful, loving family and great friends; and that as a result of the pandemic, I’ve met many new friends - thanks to QCP. QCP HAS NOT LET COVID STOP THEM! My brother Bob lives in one of QCP’s group homes. I am eternally grateful that he is in a safe and nurturing environment especially during these unprecedented times. Their devoted staff put my mind at ease, and take great care of Bob and his fellow residents. My brother has not been happier or more engaged. Bob tells me he loves where he lives and when I see that smile on his face, my heart melts. I have so much to be grateful for! I thank all the wonderful people who work at QCP. You have turned a crazy year into a grateful one for the whole Dempsey family!!! - Cecelia Dempsey Reilly I observed a remarkable change in Eric’s enthusiasm for learning since QCP programs went remote back in March 2020. Eric has been participating in QCP’s Day Habilitation program for fifteen years. He loves Bingo and Hangman, helping his colleagues at every chance and enjoys working out on his treadmill and watching martial arts programs. Our family is thankful for the blessings that have been bestowed to us despite the challenges that have been brought on. Our family is happy and healthy, and Eric has thrived working virtually with all his friends at QCP. The support he has received from the staff has helped him develop diverse skills, and he has grown immensely during this time. His communication skills, verbalization and math skills have become sharper in focus this past year - and he has developed new skills - virtual learning and technology. Therefore, we thank all the staff members at QCP for their hard work and support for our son and brother, Eric. We look forward to his continued engagement. - Elaine Loftin

“I have always been impressed with the support that QCP has provided for my son, Victor, for over 20 years. Victor is in QCP’s Supported Employment Program and has received consistent and timely support by his current job coach. I was particularly impressed last year (at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic) as there was never an interruption in the job coach's accessibility whenever Victor had questions or issues. When I think of that type of support for the intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals, multiplied hundreds of times, I knew I had to supports QCP in some form. Not only does QCP succeed in their mission ‘to promote independence, community involvement, and quality of life,’ they also provide a community for the families and other supporters of IDD through their fundraisers that always turn out to be fun social events.” - Lourdes Marzan It’s hard to believe that it has been over thirty-five years since my daughter, Cathy, and I first walked through the doors at QCP. We both looked at each other and knew this was where she belonged. There was a friendly, caring, professional atmosphere at QCP that welcomed us.Since attending QCP, Cathy has made life-long friendships, has found purpose to her life, developed skills we didn’t know she had and considers QCP staff members her “friends” and, most importantly, they treat her with love and respect. Last year, during the ensuing pandemic, I knew right away that I had to do something to let them know how much of a difference they made in our lives. I would hope that other families or supporters would join us. More than 1,200 special needs adults come through their doors every day and young children are welcomed at their Children’s Center. Cathy and I are deeply grateful that we found our “place” … a place where we belong and which has given us so much. - Pat Coulaz
