As you can see from the image above, any weather is golfing
Hi there!

Well done to everyone who bravely played in the wind, rain and cold this week. The positive thing is mastering these conditions will make you a versatile and resilient golfer!
Again it has been a busy week behind the scenes. On behalf of the match committee, I met with SWGA to organise pennant hosting dates and special event dates to include in our syllabus. And with Lonsdale Links to organise the Jubilee Shield competition for the end of October.
Our grounds staff have done a wonderful job - every day the improvements to the salt affected areas is noticeable.
Over the next 2 weeks, the ladies will be playing in our gold letter event The RJ Pearce. This is a 4BBB event that honours Reg, a member of Queenscliff Golf Club from 1965 until his passing in 2023. During his time with the club, he held positions of President & Captain. He served on the pennant team, he was part of the Monday volunteers. He was a great gentleman and a valued member of the club.
See you on the green! Barb

Congratulations
Last Friday, 13th September, Team QGC was represented in the Ocean Grove Challenge Bowl by Therese Szulik, Jen Trevean and Barb Luppino. Our Club Captain described it as an interesting day out in challenging conditions, with an unexpected result. Despite the team not placing, Barb placed first in the Overall Nett to get her name forever engraved on one impressive trophy!

MAKING A MOVE...
R&A Rule 4.7 Actions Players Can Take to Improve Pace of Play Read the Details...

EXCUSE ME, IS THAT ETIQUETTE OR A RULE... ?
Whilst ‘Golf Etiquette’ is considered a series of unwritten rules, the Official Rules of Golf are clear about the central principles of the game in “Rule 1: The Game, Player Conduct and the Rules” Essentially, it’s a game where playing in the spirit of the game, acting with integrity, and showing consideration to others and to the course are paramount at all times. Keep this front of mind and you can count yourself a winner everytime you play!
Show Consideration - Know Where You Drive Your Carts or Buggies
Be aware of where you drive. Follow signage, ropes and other directional markers. These are there for a reason and, in situations where there is no signage, use common sense to navigate the terrain.
Do not drive too close to teeing areas and especially the greens - in fact, it’s often best to keep your cart on the path. And, be aware of wet and dangerous conditions... particularly with the recent floods affecting many of our fairways.
