Hi there.
Last week's coaching clinic was a great success followed by a social gathering over lunch Chatting to the golf pro, Mark Delaney, he reminded me that the real secret to lowering your handicap lies in mastering the short game putting, chipping, and pitching, which account for nearly half of all strokes in a typical round Whether you're trying to recover from a missed green or sinking a crucial putt, it’s these finesse shots around the green that often make the difference between a good score and a great one. Mastering the short game won’t just shave strokes off your score it will build confidence, reduce frustration, and transform the way you approach each hole. As he said, try to dedicate some extra time to practising these vital shots. Your scorecard will thank you.
Jake and his team have done a wonderful job dealing with the damage from the storm and king tides It was positive to see signs of green grass amongst the yellowed turf
The Match Committee have made a few adjustments to the syllabus for 2025 - this committee is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to contribute to the events we hold, why not join us? Don’t forget to get a team together for Batto’s bash - the 4-person Ambrose event on Friday 25th October, to raise funds towards much-needed equipment for the Club.

As I write this, we have a very eager team of Therese, Jen and myself competing in the Ocean Grove Bowl on Friday We hope the golf gods shine on us!
See you on the green! Barb

Despite hours of practice, Muzza Warren's muscle brains haven't quite mastered the 'Hole in One’, only nearly achieving the much-coveted shot on the 3rd today Nearly is not good enough for solar panels though sorry, Muzz.

TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS
Ahhh... the memories - old school watering in action on Thursday.

Is there a Rule for Divots? Do I have to fix mine?
There are a variety of ways divots are taken care of - this depends on the course you're playing, some ask you to fill divots with sand or some other mix; others want the divot to be replaced and some may not ask you to do anything. Whilst the average golfer doesn't think too much about this, tour caddies consider it an art form.
