NOV 2023
From the Course This week we have been busy getting the course into shape for round one of club champs. One thing we did this week was use dethatching heads on the mower to level out the putting surface. We followed the dethatching mower with heavy brushes positioned at the front of the green’s mower. The purpose of the brush in front of the mower is to stand the leaf up and get a better cut. This has made the greens slicker and smoother by having less leaf throughout the greens. Less leaf means faster greens. We’ve started working on the right-hand side bunker on the 6th. The bunker has been greatly affected by wind and is now too deep and basically void of sand. We have brought in 7 tractor trailer loads of sand to make the bunker more playable. With the course getting busy with numerous golf groups and events, we have been trying to fit in all that needs to be done in a shorter time frame in preparation for the club champs. The boys have really stepped up to the extra work load and are working together like a team. Good luck on Saturday – happy golfing! Jake Photos by Jake
