APRIL 2024
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Toni to the team For the moment, she is working Wed, Thu, Sat and the 'menu' is still a work in progress She's making a selection of sandwiches, rolls and wraps; toasted ciabatta/turkish rolls are on trial; dim sims and hot dogs have also been a hit.
Pies, pasties and sausage rolls are still available daily and Toni will have some sandwiches/rolls made up for Friday/Sunday
Espresso coffees are also back on the menu when the kitchen is open!! Currently we're using Constant Coffee Roasters' "High Street" blend roasted locally in Geelong It's definitely popular with the Thursday golfers

A wonderful afternoon of music, dancing and fun was had by everyone who came along to see UnderCover on Easter Sunday. The kids enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt and the adults enjoyed a few drinks on the Deck in the sunshine.
The rain has arrived !
The Course Report.....
Finally after 7 weeks of no rain and battling with the heat we received 37mm of rain on Easter Monday. The staff and I were very happy to welcome the rain as it relieves pressure off the irrigation system and having to water hitting areas on fairways
With this rain and having the moisture in the soil meant we could go out and liquid fertilise the fairways This will boost the growth and promote the turf health on the fairways. This is also giving the couch a feed before it goes into dormancy over winter which will mean coming out of dormancy it will be a lot healthier Having our new (2nd hand) Toro boom spray unit makes this possible for us Without this machine we couldn’t do this task.
This week we also tackled the end of the 1st tee path “speed bump” We stripped off the turf and dug out the excess soil Lowering the ground and level off for a smooth transition to the 1st Tee Then re laying some fresh new Santa Ana turf from our nursery
Hope everyone has a great weekend golfing out on the course
Jake

The Epic
a 54 hole tournament across the Bellarine
Queenscliff has become a founding member of Golf The Bellarine, a group of six clubs in our back yard that will use our amazing peninsula's wondrous golf facilities to boost tourism to our region.
Our first step towards this is a tournament to be held from May 5-9 called The Epic.
The Epic will be played over three courses (rotating each year) with an opening dinner, three days of golf and a lay day
This year, the itinerary is:
Sunday, May 5: Welcome dinner at Claribeaux Restaurant, Curlewis GC
Monday, May 6: Round 1 @ Lonsdale Links (including lunch)
Tuesday, May 7: Round 2 @ 13th Beach Golf Links - Beach Course (including lunch)
Wednesday, May 8: lay day
Thursday, May 9: Round 3 @ Queenscliff GC (including lunch) Followed by presentation dinner at Portarlington GC
Our earlybird special is still on the table with all golf, indicated meals and prizes for daily and overall golf competitions for just $499.
See the website www.golfthebellarine.com.au for more details and to book, but PLEASE, even if you can't play yourself, reach out to friends - particularly those out of town - and get them to come along and give our first event a real kickstart
