Michael Hibbison Merchandising Vice President, Lumber - The Home Depot

THURSDAY-SEPTEMBER5,2024
Michael Hibbison Merchandising Vice President, Lumber - The Home Depot
Welcome to our Annual Golf Outing. We are delighted to be back, and overjoyed to be able to welcome you again this year. We thank you for being part of this event – we do not take your support lightly.
This year we’re very pleased to honor Mike Hibbison, Merchandising Vice President at The Home Depot. We enjoyed having Mike visit our programs, as honorees have done in year’s past. It was a joy to watch Mike interacting with the little ones and the adults. His warmth and authenticity shows. Being able to see first-hand the work we do every day, and how the proceeds of this event will benefit the people we serve makes this relationship and the experience more meaningful.
As you can imagine, an event this size, has a lot of moving parts. To pull this off takes a real team effort. Let’s start with our Home Depot Team: Jennifer Hardy, Shenell Leighton and Paul Lundholm. Jennifer’s warmth and connection to QCP, Shenell with her boundless enthusiasm, and pragmatic leadership of the logistics of this event, and Paul, whose tenacity and drive to make each year more lucrative for us, is evident by the turnout today and how much we have raised.
The other team that keeps the parts moving, is our incredible golf committee. Thank you to our fearless leader Rick Addamo, who does so much for us! And thank you to all our committee members for working so hard to make this event a first-class experience for our guests. It is our goal to make this a special two-days for all, we hope we have succeeded.
Thank you to the QCP Development Team of Shaun Caruana, Jyoti Lakhani, Meliza Santiago and to Prudence Paul of the Home Depot; and to every merchant, associate, and admin who have become QCP Ambassadors - we appreciate YOU!
We are so fortunate to have benefitted from the generosity of The Home Depot and its vendor community for 28 years. The Golf Outing has developed into QCP’s most important fund-raising event on the calendar. The funds raised from this event help us to continue our progress in promoting the achievements and independence of people with developmental disabilities! You can, and should, be proud to know that your participation enriches their lives, from the youngest in our Children’s Center to the oldest of our seniors.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, and the people whom we serve, we welcome you and thank you for supporting Queens Centers for Progress!
Terri Ross
Wendy Gennaro Executive Director Director of Development
Welcome to year 28 of our outing!
As I look back, I pay homage to the committee members who got this outing off the ground, many of whom are no longer with us. Who would ever imagine how far we have come and how much this has grown, and it’s all because of the commitment of The Home Depot leadership team, the wonderful merchants and all of YOU.
Though we've grown - some things never change; the warm environment and the camaraderie among all of you who attend. In addition to experiencing a great round of golf on some of Long Island’s most beautiful courses, you understand the significance of the event and the impact it has on Queens Centers for Progress and the people with developmental disabilities whom they serve.
On behalf of the golf committee, I congratulate Mike Hibbison, Vice President, Merchandising, and extend our appreciation to him for accepting to be our honoree. We thank Mike and his team for the hard work they put in to this year’s outing. With close to $1.7 million in sponsorships, that hard work shows!
I have had the honor of serving on the committee as a member and as the Chairman for this outstanding event since the beginning. It has been my privilege to serve alongside a group of exceptional and dedicated people. Thank you to Shenell Leighton, The Home Depot’s representative on the committee, who makes sure that the event aligns with The Home Depot’s values and guarantees that it will be extraordinary; and to our golf committee, my sincerest appreciation and gratitude for all you do. We all share a deep devotion to QCP and its mission. We strive to make this event the best it can be.
A very special thank you to Jennifer Hardy, RVP, NY Metro, who picked up the reigns of this event without missing a beat, radiating with warmth and compassion, embracing QCP, and becoming a strong advocate for the organization.
And where would we be without Paul Lundholm? Paul continues to make each year bigger and better, setting his goal higher and higher! Thank you to Paul for overseeing this event and making sure that all of you, from all over the country, get here and understand why we are here all 550 of you!
To our sponsors, thank you! You are VITAL to the success of this outing and we thank you for the outpouring of generosity that makes this Golf Outing the unique event it has become.
Until next year -
Rick Addamo Chairman, QCP Golf Committee

Born at just 28 weeks and weighing 3 lbs. 4 oz., Kyrie's life began with a three-month stay in the NICU. Now, at four years old, he's making incredible progress at our APPLE Preschool program.
When Kyrie first joined us, he faced significant challenges in communication and mobility. Unable to express himself to peers and teachers, and struggling with severe toe walking, Kyrie needed specialized support. Through our comprehensive special education services, we've seen remarkable growth:
Communication: Kyrie now uses signs and communication boards to express his wants and needs.
Mobility: Custom ankle foot orthotics and time in an upright stander have dramatically improved his walking. He can now keep his ankles down, navigate stairs with support, and even run!
Therapy: Kyrie shows infectious enthusiasm for occupational therapy, especially enjoying sensory equipment like the swing.
Social Skills: He's increasingly interested in interacting with peers and engaging with various toys and learning materials.
In Kyrie's parents words:
"Before choosing APPLE Preschool, we visited and were blown away. From the customizable equipment to the friendly staff, we knew QCP was the place for Kyrie. When he started, he couldn't walk independently. His physical therapist worked one-on-one with him, even providing temporary braces. Now, with help from his orthopedist, physical therapist, and caring teacher, Kyrie walks and runs. Imagine our joy!"
Kyrie's progress in just a short time demonstrates the power of specialized early intervention and dedicated support. We're thrilled to be part of his journey and excited to see his continued growth.
QCP wishes to thank these companies for their generous contribution of products and services.
