2022 HONOREE 26th Annual QCP/Home Depot Golf Outing Honoree David Passafiume Vice President of Merchandising The Home Depot David Passafiume is Merchandising Vice President - Tools since January of 2019. He is responsible for all aspects of merchandising and marketing strategies for the Tool business.

David joined The Home Depot in 2005 as a Merchant. He has held roles of increasing responsibility including Divisional Merchandising Manager and Merchandising Vice President – Lighting. Most recently, he was Merchandising Vice President – Appliances.

Prior to joining The Home Depot, David spent 10 years in sales, marketing, and operation roles with General Electric’s appliances division.

David has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Bellarmine University.

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Welcome to our 26th Annual Golf Outing. After a three year hiatus, we were eager to get you back on the course. Our Golf Committee has once again put together a fabulous outing that we know will be as enjoyable for you as it is successful for QCP. We want to welcome and thank everyone who has been part of this event - and this wonderful relationship!

This year we’re very pleased to honor David Passafiume, Merchandising Vice President at The Home Depot. We were grateful to have David visit our centers, as honorees have done in year’s past. It was an honor and a pleasure to see how David interacted with the little ones and the adults. Being able to see first-hand the work we do every day, and how the proceeds of this event will benefit the people we serve makes this relationship and the experience more meaningful.

The children and adults served by QCP have benefitted from the generosity of The Home Depot and its corporate vendors for over 25 years. The Golf Outing has developed into QCP’s most important fund-raising event of the year. The funds raised from this event help us to continue our progress in promoting the achievements and independence of the people with developmental disabilities for whom we provide services and supports.

HOW CAN WE EVER THANK YOU ENOUGH? This Golf Outing is THE most important event on QCP’s calendar. For twenty-six years, the event has built up to what it is today, over 430 golfers spread across FIVE of the most beautiful and scenic golf courses on Long Island, raising over one million dollars! That’s impressive!

None of this would be possible without the relationship that has been cultivated with The Home Depot, and the caring people who make it their business to foster that relationship. In the process, they ensure that QCP has the additional funds needed to maintain the quality of services that we currently provide. Without this support, we would not thrive.

That is where all of you come in.

We want to thank YOU for being here! Your contribution to today’s outing provides a better quality of life to the people we serve. You can, and should, be proud to know that your participation enriches their lives, from the youngest in our Children’s Center to the oldest of our seniors.

As you can imagine, an event this size, has a lot of moving parts. To pull this off takes a real team effort. Let’s start with our Home Depot Team: Ro Rodriguez, Shenell Leighton and Paul Lundholm. Ro with her warmth and authentic oneness with QCP. Shenell with her bounding enthusiasm, and pragmatic leadership of the logistics of this event, and Paul, whose tenacity and drive to make each year more lucrative for us, is evident by the turnout today and how much we have raised.

The other team that keeps the parts moving, is our incredible golf committee.

Thank you to our fearless leader Rick Addamo, who does so much for us! And thank you to all our committee members for working so hard to make this event a first-class experience for our guests. It is our goal to make this a special two-days for all, we hope we’ve succeeded.

Thank you to the QCP Development Team of Shaun Caruana, Jyoti Lakhani, and Lorraine Heaney; to Prudence Paul of The Home Depot; and to each and every one of you, at Home Depot who acted as ambassadors for QCP in making this a success.

QCP FAMILIES “I have always been impressed with the support that QCP has provided for my son, Victor, for over 20 years. Victor is in QCP’s Supported Employment Program and has received consistent and timely support by his current job coach. I was particularly impressed - at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic as there was never an interruption in the job coach's accessibility whenever Victor had questions or issues.

When I think of that type of support for the intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals, multiplied hundreds of times, I knew I had to supports QCP in some form.

Not only does QCP succeed in their mission ‘to promote independence, community involvement, and quality of life,’ they also provide a community for the families and other supporters of IDD through their fundraisers that always turn out to be fun social events.” - Lourdes Marzan It’s hard to believe that it has been over thirty-five years since my daughter, Cathy, and I first walked through the doors at QCP. We both looked at each other and knew this was where she belonged. There was a friendly, caring, professional atmosphere at QCP that welcomed us.Since attending QCP, Cathy has made life-long friendships, has found purpose to her life, developed skills we didn’t know she had and considers QCP staff members her “friends” and, most importantly, they treat her with love and respect.

During the ensuing pandemic, I knew right away that I had to do something to let them know how much of a difference they made in our lives. I would hope that other families or supporters would join us. More than 1,200 special needs adults come through their doors every day and young children are welcomed at their Children’s Center. Cathy and I are deeply grateful that we found our “place” … a place where we belong and which has given us so much. - Pat Coulaz

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE At last, we are back! It’s been a long time, and we have missed you! Welcome back to our friends, old and new!

It is so heartening to see the camaraderie among all of you who attend. In addition to experiencing a great round of golf on some of Long Island’s most beautiful courses, you understand the significance of the event and the impact it has on Queens Centers for Progress and the people with developmental disabilities whom they serve.

On behalf of the golf committee, I congratulate David Passafiume, Vice President, Merchandising, and extend our appreciation to him for accepting to be our honoree. We thank David for the hard work he put in to this year’s outing. He went out hard and it shows!

For twenty-three years, I have had the honor of serving as the Chairman for this outstanding event. It has been my privilege to serve alongside a group of exceptional and dedicated people. Thank you to Shenell Leighton, The Home Depot’s representative on the committee, who makes sure that the event aligns with The Home Depot’s values and guarantees that it will be extraordinary; and to the entire golf committee, a group who spends many hours planning every detail, my sincerest appreciation and gratitude to all you do. All of us on the committee share a deep devotion to QCP, its mission and the people that will benefit from this fund-raising event.

A very special thank you to Ro Rodriguez, who picked up the reigns of this event from Tony Lemma. For many years, Tony had been the driving force behind this outing and Ro without missing a beat, has embraced QCP and has become a strong advocate for the organization. And through rain, snow, hail, and a worldwide pandemic, Paul Lundholm continues to make each year bigger and better! Thank you to Paul for overseeing this event and making sure that all of you, from all over the country, get here and understand why we are here — all 550 of you!
