September 7, 2023
Welcome to our 27th Annual Golf Outing. We are delighted to be back, and overjoyed to be able to welcome you again this year. Our Golf Committee has once again put together a fabulous outing that we know will be as enjoyable for you as it is successful for QCP. We thank everyone who has been part of this event – we do not take your support lightly.
This year we’re very pleased to honor Rodes Bazzel, Merchandising Vice President at The Home Depot. We enjoyed having Rodes visit our programs, as honorees have done in year’s past. It was a joy to observe Rodes interacting with the little ones and the adults. Her warmth and authenticity shows. Being able to see first-hand the work we do every day, and how the proceeds of this event will benefit the people we serve makes this relationship and the experience more meaningful.
The children and adults served by QCP have benefitted from the generosity of The Home Depot and its corporate vendors for over 25 years. The Golf Outing has developed into QCP’s most important fund-raising event of the year. The funds raised from this event help us to continue our progress in promoting the achievements and independence of the people with developmental disabilities for whom we provide services and supports.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, and the people whom we serve, we welcome you and thank you for supporting Queens Centers for Progress!
We Extend our Sincere Appreciation and Congratulations to our 2023 Honoree
27TH ANNUAL QCP/HOME DEPOT GOLF OUTING HONOREE OF THE YEAR
MERCHANDISING VICE PRESIDENT - TOOLS THE HOME DEPOT
Margaret MacPherson, President, QCP Board of Directors
Terri Ross, Executive Director
Wendy Phaff Gennaro, Director of Development
Welcome to this year’s outing!
As I reflect back on our outing, I can’t help but pay homage to the committee members who got the golf outing off the ground, many of whom are no longer with us. Could they ever have imagined that we would one day net over a million dollars? It is remarkable. And it’s all because of the commitment of The Home Depot and YOU.
What doesn’t change each year is the warm environment and the camaraderie among all of you who attend. In addition to experiencing a great round of golf on some of Long Island’s most beautiful courses, you understand the significance of the event and the impact it has on Queens Centers for Progress and the people with developmental disabilities whom they serve.
On behalf of the golf committee, I congratulate Rodes Bazzel, Vice President, Merchandising, and extend our appreciation to her for accepting to be our honoree. We thank Rodes for the hard work she put in to this year’s outing. With over $1.3 million in sponsorships, that hard work shows!
For twenty-three years, I have had the honor of serving as the Chairman for this outstanding event. It has been my privilege to serve alongside a group of exceptional and dedicated people. Thank you to Shenell Leighton, The Home Depot’s representative on the committee, who makes sure that the event aligns with The Home Depot’s values and guarantees that it will be extraordinary; and to the entire golf committee, a group who spends many hours planning every detail, my sincerest appreciation and gratitude for all you do. All of us on the committee share a deep devotion to QCP, its mission and the people that will benefit from this fundraising event.
A very special thank you to Ro Rodriguez, RVP, NY Metro, who picked up the reigns of this event and continues to be the driving force behind this outing. Ro exudes warmth and compassion, and has embraced QCP, and has become a strong advocate for the organization.
And through rain, snow, hurricanes, AND a worldwide pandemic, Paul Lundholm continues to make each year bigger and better! Thank you to Paul for overseeing this event and making sure that all of you, from all over the country, get here and understand why we are here — all 550 of you!
To all our sponsors, thank you! You are VITAL to the success of this outing and we thank you for the outpouring of generosity that makes this Golf Outing the unique event it has become.
Thank you all for being here and your willingness to help QCP.
Until next year -
Rick Addamo Chairman, QCP Golf CommitteeRODES BAZZEL
VICE PRESIDENT OF MERCHANDISING
THE HOME DEPOT
Rodes Bazzel is the Merchandising Vice President - Tools at The Home Depot. Since joining The Home Depot in 2009, she has held multiple positions across the company - in Finance, Product Development, and Merchandising. Since shifting to merchandising, Rodes uses her talents along the lines of excellence to drive sales and create strong relationships with her vendors and peers.
True to the Home Depot values, Rodes gives back by serving on the board of Horizons Atlanta – a nonprofit that is committed to bridging the education gap for underserved children by offering a transformational, tuition-free, summer learning program that helps eliminate critical barriers to success that many children face.
At home, Rodes enjoys gardening, yoga, and chasing around her three young children.
Rodes is an exemplar and champion of the Home Depot Values and we are so grateful for all that she has done to make this event a success.

We appreciate YOU!
THANK YOU for being here! Your contribution to today’s outing provides a better quality of life to the people we serve. You can, and should, be proud to know that your participation enriches their lives, from the youngest in our Children’s Center to the oldest of our seniors.
This outing is possible because of the caring people at The Home Depot who make it their business to ensure that QCP has the additional funds needed to maintain the quality of services that we currently provide. Without their support, and belief in us, we would not thrive.
As you can imagine, an event this size, has a lot of moving parts. To pull this off takes a real team effort. Let’s start with our Home Depot Team: Ro Rodriguez, Shenell Leighton and Paul Lundholm. Ro with her warmth and authentic oneness with QCP. Shenell with her bounding enthusiasm, and pragmatic leadership of the logistics of this event, and Paul, whose tenacity and drive to make each year more lucrative for us, is evident by the turnout today and how much we have raised.
The other team that keeps the parts moving, is our incredible golf committee. Thank you to our fearless leader Rick Addamo, who does so much for us! And thank you to all our committee members for working so hard to make this event a first-class experience for our guests. It is our goal to make this a special two-days for all, we hope we’ve succeeded.
Thank you to the QCP Development Team of Shaun Caruana, Jyoti Lakhani, and to Prudence Paul of the Home Depot; and of course to this year’s honoree, Rodes Bazzel who took us to another level! And to every merchant, associate, and admin who have become QCP Ambassadors - THANK YOU!
We hope you had a great time and look forward to having you back next year!
With Gratitude,
A special thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers whose time and energy are a vital part of this golf outing.
We couldn’t do it without your help!
