Open day By Tishya Verma As you might know, Open Day was on the 20th of August at school and we had a blast. We had 1,400 people come over to the open day. QMC helped the Parents' Association, Foundation Trust, Phoenix Football, Make-awish and WFA. We raised $440 dollars by selling candy floss which was for our MakeA- Wish charity partner. People set up stalls, debates, merchandise, food trucks and face painting. There were also workshops of all the subjects. The Wellington Free Ambulance came over and taught us CPR. An extra special quest on the open day was that on the front gate we had little passport to give out and it would show the places that you should go and if you went to all of them you would get a prize. The prizes were merch like a beanie, bags and much more. A big surprise in the open day was a raffle to win a QMC oodie. QMC also had fun activities for each language, French, Spanish, Japanese, Maori and Chinese, in the Lower Hobson. There were activities like origami, chopsticks race, and make your own crepes. The Junior School presented an amazing performance with their instruments in the old hall and the Kapa Haka group did a fantastic performance to represent there school. We had fun sports games like fencing and rugby in the Hobson gym. Outside on the front lawn was a football centre with a ASB mascot.
