BOARDING AT QUEEN MARGARET COLLEGE

Boarding at Queen Margaret College (QMC) fosters academic success, confidence, and independence. We offer a supportive environment where a vibrant mix of domestic and international students develop a global perspective and make lifelong friendships. We are the only all-girls boarding school in Wellington, New Zealand.

QMC boarders develop leadership skills and cultivate emotional and social intelligence while undertaking their studies. We guide our students to become self-sufficient and self-motivated. In our safe and caring community, students hone empathy and social skills.

We offer students in Year 7 to 13:

QMH offers students a structured environment that is secure, comfortable, and caring. Each student feels safe, welcome, healthy, and motivated so that their learning and academic success are well-supported.

Live with and become part of a local family

QMC offers accommodation with approved and trusted families, which can be long-term or shorter stays during school holidays. These homestays provide students with the chance to build connections, foster cultural understanding and form lifelong bonds within a private family home.

International students gain insights into New Zealand culture and traditions, and practise English-language skills. Our approved families provide a caring environment that supports students’ learning, academic success, and recreational interests. They provide nutritious meals and snacks. Students always have a private bedroom with comfortable amenities.
