The QE PGCE Pathway in Partnership with the University of York Do you aspire to work in the independent sector in the UK or abroad? Then this is the PGCE pathway for you. Complete your PGCE at one of the UK’s leading independent schools, Queen Ethelburga’s College, York. With children aged 3 months to 18 years, you can complete your PGCE at either the primary or secondary level here. This provision builds on the University of York’s well-established PGCE programme, while giving trainees valuable insight into the independent sector, with one of your placements guaranteed at Queen Ethelburga’s College. Your second placement will be at one of the University of York’s state school partners, with continued support from your mentor at Queen Ethelburga’s College. You will enjoy a breadth of CPD opportunities provided by the adjacent QE Training Academy, related to teaching in an international setting, understanding global education cultures and practical support to EAL learners. Do you accept group bookings? We are able to accept group bookings and can invoice for payment if you prefer. Discounts are available for group bookings, please contact us for further details. Will I have access to Wi-Fi? Yes! Free Wi-Fi is available to all course participants and visiting groups. Can I travel by train to reduce my carbon footprint/how do I get to the venue? Yes you can reach us by train! A complimentary shuttle is available from Cattal.
Do you have air conditioning? Yes! Please note, in a busy training room it can be difficult to achieve a consensus on room temperature, so even on a warm day, please do bring a layer if you feel the cold. Do you cater for different languages or learning needs? Yes! We endeavour to minimise any possible barriers to learning, please inform us of any need and any known strategies that can support your progress and achievement. Can you deliver training at my workplace? We are happy to work with you to offer training at your workplace.
