Making carpet cleaning simple
Daniel Took, head of professional product marketing at Kärcher UK, explains the different machines needed for cleaning carpeted floors.
MAINTAINING carpeted floors is important for ensuring the longevity of the surface alongside cleanliness. As dirt particles build up within carpet pile it can result in long term stains that require deep cleaning to remove. However, this deep cleaning can leave surfaces out of action for periods of time. Regular daily maintenance combined with intermediate cleaning to tackle stains can help reduce the need for deep cleans in the long run. When it comes to selecting the right vacuum cleaner for the job, factors including the daily dirt entry, type of carpet, surface size, and available cleaning time must be considered. Efficient daily maintenance cleaning eliminates easily removable, mineral dirt particles such as dust, fluff, hair, or road dirt and should obviate the need for regular intermediate or deep cleaning, thus reducing costs.
Daily maintenance cleaning
For maintaining carpeted flooring, a flexible and powerful suction option is a must to quickly collect mineral dirt particles. Dry vacuum cleaners are ideal for these scenarios where dirt sits on top of surfaces without becoming embedded into the pile and causing permanent damage. Vacuum cleaners such as the T 9/1 Bp are ideal for use as they operate with high suction power helping to lift unwanted particles directly from the surface material to help keep textile flooring in good condition. Part of Kärcher’s battery powered range, the T 9/1 is cordless, allowing for quick cleaning to remove unwanted dirt in popular throughways making them ideal for businesses such as hotels and restaurants.

Intermediate cleaning
Powerful carpet cleaners are effective for deep and intermediate carpet cleaning, as well as stain removal from textiles. Walk-behind carpet cleaners are particularly effective for large, carpeted areas. To remove stubborn particles, the CV 30/1 upright vacuum cleaner is ideal as its heightadjustable brush can clean deep into the carpet pile. It offers quick cleaning ideal for retail businesses, showrooms, hotels, and restaurants. For high pile carpeting (looppile or velour) and heavy dirt entry, a carpet brush suction system such as the CV 38/2 is required, as the roller brush reaches deep into the pile, removing stubborn dirt particles. The mechanical brush effect improves the cleaning result by around 30%, as it raises the pile, leaving carpets looking like new.
Deep cleaning
For deeper cleans to remove stubborn stains, spray extraction cleaners are suitable for the removal of ingrained dirt. Offering tremendous suction power, the Puzzi spray cleaner can effectively deep clean carpets and leave minimal residual moisture, keeping surfaces almost completely dry after cleaning to reduce the risk of re-soiling. Its lightweight construction allows it to be transported easily from one place to another - perfect for hospitals, shops and automotive workshops. Depending on the needs for your business, ensuring that you have the right machine for the job is crucial to maintaining carpeted flooring for both aesthetic pleasure and user safety. The diverse range of vacuum cleaners currently available ensures that conserving carpet cleanliness is no longer a complicated challenge. WWW.KARCHER.CO.UK
