All aboard for Manchester Central
The Manchester Cleaning Show returns to the city in April at its new home – Manchester Central. The venue will host the event on 6 and 7 April, welcoming visitors from across the region and beyond (see Page 27).
As the organiser put the finishing touches to the event programme, Killis was announced as the Official Innovation Partner for the show. Following the successful UK launch of its king-sized, autonomous cleaning robot, Rex, at the Cleaning Show in London, Killis is coming to Manchester to demonstrate its forward-thinking advanced robotics, the latest in scrubber dryer technology and its growing sustainability range. Attendees can also join Tibor Killi, MD of Killis, who will speak during the event’s conference (see Page 30). He’ll help show attendees to discover more about cobotics and address why the cleaning industry needs to embrace the latest advancements in innovative cleaning equipment. The presentation will look at how collaborative robotics can ease a human-intensive workforce, freeing up valuable time and making cleaner, healthier spaces. The Conference Theatre will also transform into a demonstration area once the conference sessions have concluded on both days, enabling Killis to show exactly what its cobotic machines can do.
The Manchester Cleaning Show has also announced an Official Hygiene Partner for the event, Dettol Pro Solutions. Following on from its successful collaboration with the COP26 Summit, Dettol Pro Solutions will be working with the organiser to ensure each visitor has a safe visit to the event. Each morning at 11.00am, experts from the Dettol Pro Solutions team will be delivering keynote presentations in the Conference Theatre, sharing invaluable insights about hygiene practices with attendees.
In other news, I want to congratulate the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners on becoming the first City of London Livery Company to be accredited as a Living Wage employer. This is a great achievement and shows the way for other Livery Companies to follow suit. Gary Fage, Master of the WCEC, said: “The Living Wage demonstrates an understanding that without fair pay, we cannot adequately resource our industry. Fair is fair when it comes to remuneration.”
