At Liberty Plastics, sustainability begins at the manufacturing level. Material selection, waste recovery, and production efficiency are treated as interconnected systems, not separate initiatives. In 2024, we implemented a proprietary in-house reprocessing and repelletizing program designed to keep valuable High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) material in circulation. By capturing trim scrap and off-spec material directly within the facility, we reprocess and reintroduce HDPE into production rather than sending it offsite or to landfill.

HDPE is a #2 resin with strong secondary recycling markets, allowing material to be recovered and reused rather than diverted to landfill at end of use. This makes HDPE a practical foundation for circular manufacturing, not just a recyclable claim on paper.
HDPE can be reprocessed multiple times without sacrificing performance. By engineering solutions that withstand impact and repeated handling, we extend product life and reduce the need for frequent replacement. When products stay in service longer, overall material demand and waste generation are reduced.
Liberty Plastics uses closed-loop water systems that filter and reuse water within the manufacturing process. A full LED lighting footprint lowers energy use across the facility, while ongoing energy partnerships support continuous efficiency improvements.
