The woven material is precision cut and constructed in a cross-cut panel configuration oriented luff to leech to ensure easy-to-trim shapes. Sail shapes are customdesigned for your boat by Quantum’s experienced sail designers based on expected usage and boat-specific constraints such as mast bend, displacement, and righting moment.

All woven materials are not created equal: There are variations in yarn type, thickness, weave, and finish.

Without proper materials, the promise of great design cannot be realized. The woven polyester used in Quantum’s cross-cut cruising sails is the best available, featuring a tight weave, high tenacity yarns, and the finest finishing techniques for maximum stretch resistance. We test and use only topgrade sailcloth selected from leading suppliers to ensure durability, excellent shape-holding ability, and longevity.

ADVANCED LAYOUT & ASSEMBLY Quantum’s cross-cut cruising sails utilize highquality Dacron panels with multi-directional, high-tenacity polyester fibers. The panels are assembled in a diagonal radiating from the luff, with the direction of the fibers strategically oriented with primary load paths. This intelligent layout adds strength, resists stretch, and enables optimal shapes.
