OAKY CREEK FARM & HARVEST CAFÉ: A Hidden Gem in Scenic Rim

Oaky Creek Farm & Harvest Café is a unique combination of a farm, café, and garden located in the heart of the Scenic Rim. The owners of the property spent five years searching for the perfect location and found their dream acreage, embarking on a journey to create a one-of-a-kind destination for tourists and locals alike.

At the time of their purchase, the tourism industry in the area was just starting to boom, and the owners saw an opportunity to turn their farm into a thriving business. They began by renting out the farm on Airbnb and were soon granted a commercial license to develop a café on the property.

As demand for their fresh produce and garlic salts grew, the owners expanded their market to other states in Australia. Their extensive collection of statues and gardens also allowed them to offer guided and self-guided tours. Today, Oaky Creek Farm & Harvest Café is the perfect place for businesses, groups, and functions, with a commitment to being inclusive of people of all abilities and catering to accessibility requirements.

The café is a delightful and tranquil space, where visitors can enjoy a delicious meal while taking in the beauty of the surrounding farm and gardens. Whether visitors are there for a quick bite, a leisurely lunch, or a special occasion, the owners aim to make their visit unforgettable.

At the heart of everything they do is their love for the land and a desire to bring people together. The farm is a place to connect with nature, with one another, and with the bounty of the land. Visitors are invited to come and experience the magic of Oaky Creek Farm & Harvest Café for themselves.

The owners believe that good food, good company, and good surroundings are the foundation of a happy life, and it is their goal to provide all three in abundance. So visitors are encouraged to join them for a taste of the good life and see what makes them truly unique!

THE BENEFITS OF ADOPTING A SENIOR PET: WHY AGE IS JUST A NUMBER

When most people think about adopting a pet, they typically envision a cute and cuddly puppy or kitten. But did you know that adopting a senior pet can be just as rewarding, if not more so? Here are some reasons why you should consider adopting a senior pet.

They're often already trained: One of the biggest advantages of adopting a senior pet is that they usually come with some basic training. They're often already housebroken and know basic commands like sit and stay, which can save you a lot of time and effort.

They have a calmer demeanour: Senior pets have often already gone through the rambunctious and hyperactive stage of their lives. They're more likely to be content lounging on the couch with you rather than tearing through

your house like a tornado. Their calm demeanour can make them great companions for people who want a pet but don't have the energy to keep up with a young and energetic animal.

They're usually already socialised: Senior pets have often already had a lot of socialisation with people and other animals. They're less likely to be skittish or anxious in new situations, which can make them easier to integrate into your home and family.

They need homes too: Senior pets often have a harder time finding homes than younger animals, even though they can make just as loving and loyal companions. By adopting a senior pet, you're giving them a second chance at a happy life.

They can teach us valuable lessons: Senior pets can teach us about the importance of ageing gracefully and living in the moment. They remind us that age is just a number and that we should cherish every moment we have with our loved ones.

If you're considering adding a pet to your family, don't overlook the benefits of adopting a senior pet. They can be just as loving and loyal as younger animals, and they may even have some advantages that younger pets don't. So why not give a senior pet a chance? You may just find that they're the perfect addition to your family.
