An Enduring Power of Attorney document is a useful, practical and cost-efficient document and when used properly reduces the stress on families caused by the loss of capacity. However, not enough thought goes into properly preparing these documents to include simple practical safeguards. Here are some possible safeguards to secure your funds from misuse by an Attorney.

An Enduring Power of Attorney document appoints someone (called the Attorney) to make decisions for another (called the Principal) about personal decisions such as about their medical treatment and about their finances, if a Principal, while still alive, becomes incapable of making those decisions for themself.

The size of your house will almost certainly be influenced by your budget and the area in which you would like to live. But here are some other factors you might want to consider.

The average Australian house has three bedrooms, and the most common size family is four – two adults and two children. How many children do you have, and do they each need their own room? Do you need a guest bedroom?
When you’re thinking about buying or building a home, size is an important decision. The size of a house will determine how much it is worth and how expensive it is to build.

This means that we are building similar size houses on smaller blocks. This could partly be due to increased housing density in our major cities and our desire to live closer to metropolitan areas. It also indicates that people are willing to compromise on the size of their garden. With our busy modern lifestyles, many people

SPRINGWOOD’S GIRLS
By Hazel Hillier, Retired teacher

Many of the street names in Springwood are female names – Cynthia Court, Marlane Court, Carol Street, Raquel Avenue, Gillian Court etc. These were names of the wives, mothers and girlfriends of the owners of Intercapital Realty. Collene Grove was originally an orange orchard, hence “Grove” rather than “Street.”

Cinderella Drive was really named after Denise., but that was deemed to be too close to Dennis Road, and would cause confusion. However, her husband once poured champagne into her shoe and then drank it, (not the shoe) hence the name “Cinderella.”

The estate changed into a suburb, with the name being accepted by the Queensland Place Names Board in 1971. When the Tibbitts family bought their block of land in Gillian Court in that year, there were only three or four houses south of Dennis Road.

We moved to Queensland 7 years ago to fur ther my coaching career and lead us to fulfil our long-term dream of opening up our own Learn to Swim Centre. It is coming up to 3 years now being open and I love seeing the kids excited faces before and after their lessons. Also, the parents’ proud looks when their child achieves a swimming goal. I also love camping, boating and fishing.

We started the business in Logan first as we found the right location so we could create a swim school different from other learn-to-swim centres. We relocated to a home in the Logan Village area in January to get back to acreage and country living. This has helped to keep my life balanced.
I like that I get to work with my daughters as now that they are grown up and they still have an interest in the family business. They work on my days off, so I can keep a balanced life.
I am very proud of the women that my daugh ters have grown into. It is great to have them as partners in the business. I am also proud of the environment we have created together for other families to embrace our skills and knowledge to teach a vital life skill.
In celebration of Father's Day, how do you balance being a father and a business owner?
What are your thoughts on living and running a business in Logan?

I have learnt to keep work issues at work and to not talk about work too much at home & when at work to keep it professional and not bring family issues to work.
What is the trick to running a successful family business?

For more information or to make a booking, either call 0431 751 786 to speak to a lovely staff member, head to their website, http:// seahorseswimschool.com.au or check out their Facebook page, @seahorseslackscreek.

How do you provide the right mix/balance between family & running a business?
Our family’s favourite activity is camping togeth er either with the boat and jet skis on the bay or in the mountains on a friend's property. Just spending time hanging out together.
It is very important to separate the two. Both need your time & attention. My wife used to say to me when my girls were young to remember who you are working for. She had it written on the back of a family photo I had on my desk. I believe this was very important to remind me to balance my time.
I think it is successful because it is a fami ly-owned & run business. Parents love that at least 1 family member is always at the reception to answer any questions or concerns. I believe service is the key as these days it can be overlooked quite easily due to technology.
What's a little-known fact about you?
I spent 3 years on the Australian Olympic Swimming team as a high-performance coach.
What wisdom/advice would you give those just starting, as fathers & business owners?

is content, what a great cost this is to children’s time spent on enjoying and practicing the critical skills of written and
spoken communication. When students practice these vital skills, – and much varied and enjoyable practice is necessary – they benefit from the skill being the main focus and being free from the burden of understanding and navigating complex content.

Often students are asked to use their writing and speaking skills to communicate complex topics that children are not only not interested in but are also struggling to understand. In comparison, give students a topic that they are interested in and which they understand completely, then they are free to focus on and enjoy speaking and writing.

Certainly, knowledge is ever increasing, world ideas are continuously ‘instagramming’, and debates about solutions are always raging, but the empowering ability to communicate effectively through speaking and writing never changes. It is not ‘what’ to communicate about but ‘how’ to communicate that is an important focus for all children. Instead of being lost in the sea of knowledge and facts, which like the waves of the sea is never-ending, children should be learning the joy of sailing and catching the breeze in the directions they want to go.

in the European Junior Tour. By 11, I was regularly travelling around Europe with my dad, playing in many different events and training 4-5 times a week.
When did you find out you were going to represent Malta in Com Games?
My siblings, Kijan and Lijana started playing at around similar ages to me and also followed the same pathway of playing events around Europe between the ages of 10 and 15. At 15 years old, we all moved away from home. I first went to a boarding school in the UK and then to Columbia University in New York where I studied and trained in squash. My brother Kijan also went to a boarding school in the UK before joining me here in Brisbane in 2019. While my sister Lijana trained under the Malta National Coach Nial Engerer for a few years before joining us here in Brisbane in early 2022.
n July and August, we were captivated by the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. From the comfort of our homes, we cheered our sporting heroes on and celebrated when they achieved their goals.
What I love about squash is that it is so dynamic. There is always something to learn and progress in. Whether it is physically, technically or mentally, I find that I am constantly absorbing new skills that have helped me in other areas of life.
We knew that we had a good chance to be selected to play in the games early this year, however, the team was only announced in June. So, we had about 6 weeks to get organised and plan our trip over to Europe. It was an amazing opportunity to represent Malta at the Commonwealth Games, one that we will treasure for life. Being there as siblings and also being able to also visit our parents, made the trip even more special for all of us!

Several athletes from the Daisy Hill Squash & Racquet Club were selected to represent their country at these games, including Colette, her siblings, Kijan and Lijana as well as Marika. We caught up with Colette to ask about her experiences at the Games and what she loves about her sport.
Describe the opening ceremony. What did it feel like walking into the stadium?
FLYING THE FLAG FOR SQUASH
The opening ceremony was honestly one of our favourite
Colette: I first got into squash when I was 9 years old, back in my home country of Malta. It started as just playing for fun once a week but quickly realised that if I practised regularly, I would be able to get good enough to compete
How were you and your siblings first introduced to squash? When did you start & what do you love about it?
parts of the games. It is such an amazing feeling to be standing with fellow members of your country and walking the track honoured by the many thousands of spectators at the games and also watching on screen. The reception is unmatched, with people cheering and clapping and enjoying watching all the athletes come into the stadium, it was fascinating! There is certainly a lot of pride that comes with that kind of representation. I truly am very grateful that I got to be part of Team Malta at such prestigious games.
lost a tight 4 game match. Lijana was able to win her 1st round match 3-2 and progress into the second round where she played the eventual women's silver medallist from Canada, Hollie Naughton. All of us played well and gave our best effort in our matches.
Kijan was unluckily matched up against his fellow Maltese comrade in the first round and

Some of Kijan and Lijana's favourite moments were when they competed on the all-glass court against the English top teams. Both Maltese youngsters performed exceptionally well and absorbed every moment of the amazing experience of being in a 2000-seat arena with thousands of spectators watching in person and online!
What will take away from your time at the games?
We thoroughly enjoyed our competition and played to the best of our ability. The Commonwealth Games welcome some of squash's very best athletes including the world's top 10 players who compete in singles and doubles events throughout the 2 weeks. I had a bye in the first round and came up against Australian National Champion, Jessica Turnbull in my second round.

Logan Guide | 23
We had a great 4 game match with lots of great squash and tightly contested rallies. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the win, but I think that I performed well to compete so highly with Jessica. In the doubles, I was up against the Welsh Team and the Barbados Team. We, unfortunately, lost both matches, however, competed with the men's silver medallist and had some amazing rallies in our mixed doubles match. The women's match was very enjoyable too as I got to play with my sister. We only narrowly missed out on making it into the next round in that game.
Tell us a bit about how the competition went.
My time at the games reminds me just how lucky we are to be able to train and compete as athletes in Brisbane with our coach Bradley, at Daisy Hill Squash Club as well as at the highest level at competitions like the Commonwealth Games. I think this is something that so few people get to enjoy and that propels us to work harder and train better to develop our skills to be able to continue representing our club and our country proudly.

“My dad, Eiko James Iva, is my most formidable competitor, harshest critic and biggest supporter. He’s the person I strive to be like. He’s my benchmark in all I do. He’s one of the hardest working people I know, and it’s something I admire most about him. He’s the only voice I tend to hear in a roaring crowd during my games; he’s the face I look for in the audience when I speak at a lectern, and he’s the only person who can claim the title of my first ever best friend. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything, and while I may not see it at the moment, it pushes me to do the best I can. My greatest achievements in life are the things that make him and my mumma proud. We don’t share a very openly affectionate relationship, but I love him wholeheartedly. I get a lot of things wrong, and I know I’m not the perfect daughter but he loves me as if I was one. Happy Father’s Day, coach; I love you!”

Alex was on point from beginning to end. When we were first discussing selling our property we were not quite ready but Alex made a point to check in with us regularly until we were ready. Alex is very knowledgeable and obviously experienced in the industry and handled everything exceptionally well. After engaging Alex, the process was seamless and Alex kept us informed along the way including what he expected to achieve. We had a contract within a week. We are very happy with the outcome and the whole process along the way.

Great Price, Great Service, Great Agency. The moment Peter came to the property, he told me how he would sell it, and how long it would take, It was sold within that time and for the price he recommended. I could not be happier with the result and would recommend Peter and his team at Local Realty Group for all your real estate matters.

Very responsive, speedy delivery, very knowledgeable Dealing. with Peter made our property purchase a very nice and seamless experience. He was very helpful, amazing responsiveness and everything moved really quick, any questions he’d patiently explain, has a great deal of knowledge about property inside out and expert in local market. Great job Peter and continue delighting customers.

Before the tenant first moves in, the property manager will conduct an initial inspection. This is a very thorough inspection that documents the condition of the property in detail, including Atphotographs.theendof the lease, that report will be used to compare the condition of the property to the condition it was in at the beginning.
INSPECTIONS:ROUTINEWHATTENANTSNEEDTOKNOW
How can tenants prepare for a routine Tenantsinspection?can use the inspection as a chance to either raise an issue or explain a previous issue in more detail.

• Make a list of any issues they want to raise. They might be immediate maintenance problems, like a leaking tap, problems with heating and cooling, or requests for upgrades like a security light in the porch. Ideally, tenants should send the list through ahead of time: that way the property manager is prepared and can deal with them faster.

What is a routine inspection?
By Local Realty Group
For new renters, rental inspections can feel a bit like taking on the role of Mum. And, no, tenants aren’t usually thrilled either.
Routine inspections are inspections done to check that a tenant is keeping the property in good condition. If there is a property manager, routine inspections are part of their role.
To prepare for a routine inspection, tenants •should:Clean the property thoroughly. And while there’s no legal requirement to keep the place tidy, it definitely can’t hurt. It gives the landlord peace of mind that the home is being well cared for, and means they’ll be more likely to want to renew the lease later on.
• If the tenants have (and are allowed) pets, make sure they’re secured for the visit. You don’t want Fido to make a break for freedom! Looking to Rent a Property in Brisbane or the Gold Coast?

As luck would have it, local Jay Spyve stumbled across this opportunity around January. No stranger to the hospitality industry, Jay has years of experience managing and operating restaurants back of house. Wanting a change of pace, Jay transitioned into sales, motorcycle sales to be exact, then into financing them and then lastly into mortgage broking for a boutique firm in the city.
“As a local, I’ve known this area forever and have to admit there is nothing like this place around here. We are in a league of our own. As mentioned before, Hop Space was not to be reopened again, I just had to step in and save it. The ONLY downside is where we are located, it’s not an ideal place for a restaurant we have come to figure out” stated Jay.
As many of you would know, Hop Space closed its doors in December, never to be re-opened again after the previous owner, Nicole wanted to focus on her catering business, Char Baby and spend more time with family.
“I came across Hop Space sort of by accident around January earlier this year, after talking to Nicole she mentioned she was willing to sell the business, name and everything with it. I also at the time have had enough with my previous work” explained Jay, “I was sick of sitting at a desk, sick of attitude and overall company I was working for and took the opportunity to dig up my hospitality hat and open up my own place.”
ucked away in Springwood’s Pacific Chambers (just off a service road), local hot spot, Hop Space’s is getting a fresh new look and name!
Since opening 8 months ago, Jay and his team have been focused on delivering amazing food, great vibes and exemplary service to their customers every time. Throughout that time, they have discovered what works for them, taking inspiration from what the old restaurant used to do and incorporating new ideas, giving Hop Space new life.
“Yes! That is correct, it’s a bit hush-hush at the moment but I’ll let you in with the secret. Our new name to keep an eye out for will be "Feels Kitchen & Bar" why Feels? Well, what started as a joke, slowly really started to grow on me” explained new owner, Jay Spyve.

“Since taking over the business we have had mixed reviews, mostly positive mind you. There are still a small group of people that still cling to what the business used to stand for previously. Quite simply, you can’t go into a shut business and do the same thing, expect a different result, that is called insanity!” commented Jay.

“Don’t be too alarmed we still will be providing amazing quality food, great vibes and craft beers BUT our main focus will be on the food aspect, not so much the craft beers. We are also operating like a Cafe during the daytime and serve AMAZING speciality coffee from our friends at Wolff Coffee roasters. It’s a bit hard to get some traction for coffee with a name like Hop Space and that is one of the reasons we are currently in the process of rebranding”.

Unless a mattress is made entirely of foam or latex, it will contain a core of springs. These springs are made by a handful of companies (usually in China) and imported into Australia flattened Traditionally mattresses contained Bonnel Springs
That means, if you find a mattress you like in one store, you can’t comparison shop the price in another store because their mattresses will have completely different names

The reason mattress retailers can get away with these sneaky tricks is simply because you can’t see what’s inside the mattress you’re buying. And chances are, the retailer won’t tell you. Or they’ II bamboozle you with made up terminology. Wouldn’t it be nice if somebody really told you ...
You don't Know What You're Getting
Springs
Unfair Mark Ups
Cheaper Pocket Spring mattresses either have no side supports or use a simple metal hoop at the top and bottom. The best way to give side support is to encase the springs in a quality high density foam box. That’s what we do here at Simply Beds.
Cheap Bonnel Spring mattress don’t have any side supports More expensive ones have a single butterfly side support (looks like half a butterfly) Here at Simply Beds we use double butterfly side supports (looks like a full butterfly) which gives double the support so the edge of the bed remains firm when you sit on it.
Are you looking for a mattress but not sure what to buy? Do you see ‘Bedding Sale’ ads and wonder if you really can save 40%, 50% and even 60% on a new mattress ... or if it’s just ONE BIG RIP OFF? You’re about to discover the sneaky tricks big department and bedding stores use to get you to pay way too much for a mattress. And how you can get a better mattress for way less money.
This refers to the foam / latex layers that sit on the springs This is a major part of the mattress and makes a big difference to the comfort, longevity and cost
With queen mattresses ranging from $200 $5,000 (and even $10,000 and more), you may wonder if higher priced mattresses are really worth it? Will they last longer? And will they give you a better night’s sleep?
What if I told you, apart from the label and the price, many $3,000 mattresses are exactly the same as mattresses half their price?
This refers to the foam / latex layers that sit on the springs This is a major part of the mattress and makes a big difference to the comfort, longevity and cost.

The sneaky tricks big be to pay way too much (a cylindrical coil of wire attached between guide wires and hoops on the top and bottom). These springs are tried and tested. And they are affordable. There is often no rhyme or reason to mattress prices
You don't Know What You're Getting
Cheap Bonnel Spring mattress don’t have any side supports. More expensive ones have a single butterfly side support (looks like half a butterfly). Here at Simply Beds we use double butterfly side supports (looks like a full butterfly) which gives double the support so the edge of the bed remains firm when you sit on it

In some cases, the outer fabric may be different (but not necessarily better). And the retailer may try to use made up terminology to make their mattress sound better. But giving a spring a fancy name doesn’t make it better. And calling a fabric ‘Smart’ doesn’t change the way it looks or works (but it may fool people into paying more).

With queen mattresses ranging from $200 $5,000 (and even $10,000 and more), you may wonder if higher priced mattresses are really worth it? Will they last longer? And will they give you a better night’s sleep?
For example, we once saw a mattress on sale for $4,000 that we know we can import from China for $400 No wonder they can afford to sell them at 50% off

N
ot so long ago, beer selection was pretty straightforward. Most people had a “brand” of beer they always drank and the local pub had a standard set of brews on tap that remained constant. These days, however, try going into a local bar or even a local bottle shop and not be overwhelmed by the number of choices available, many of which you have probably never heard of. We are now in the age of craft beer and it is a beautiful time for beer lovers.

There are more costs involved with buying your first home than just the loan itself. Upfront costs can include the deposit, Lender's Mortgage Insurance, stamp or transfer duty and bank and legal fees. There may also be ongoing costs such as the interest on the loan and expenses like council rates, utility costs and strata fees. You should also take into account home and contents insurance. Unlike if you're used to renting you will also need to cover the cost of any home improvements or repairs.
Check your credit score
Educate yourself on different loan types

Before you settle on a lender, you should shop around and look at the market and its offerings. There are many types of loans, from variable to fixed-rate loans, to interest-only and investment loans. Some lenders may offer loans with better features and, just as importantly, better interest rates. Don't settle until you have a clearer picture of the market and until you're getting the best.
You want a property that suits your lifestyle and need to consider everything from the location and its proximity to public transport, shops and green spaces as well as its fixtures and fittings, power supply, lighting, ventilation and even NBN access. Also check with your lender before you submit the loan application, to ensure there aren’t any lending restrictions on your properties or suburb.
WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING YOUR FIRST HOME
Find the right property for you

See what financial assistance may be available
Investigate all the upfront and ongoing costs
Pay off existing debts
When buying your first home, several financial assistance options may be worth investigating including the First Home Owner Grant, Stamp duty concessions, New Home Guarantee and the First Home Super Saver Scheme.
Your credit score and history will tell the lender what kind of borrower you are. The higher your score, the better chance you have of a lender approving your loan application. There are some lenders that service loans for average scores, but at a higher interest rate.
Lenders will look into your debt-to-income ratio, that is, what proportion of your income goes into servicing debt. The higher your debt, the less disposable income you'll have. By improving this ratio, you can increase your chances of getting a home loan. If you have any unsecured or high-interest debt, you should think about reducing or paying this off as soon as possible.

Getting serious in your professional life will enable you to refine the work that you do and to produce better results that are noticed by many. Self-motivation is essential, as friends and social gatherings could financially distract you from your long-term goals.
Getting into an argument with your senior over a workplace issue is nothing unusual, but escalating it to higher authorities is, so don’t act on impulse. A classmate who has taken your notes to copy may not return them in a hurry, making your studies suffer.

You may be thinking a lot about the future and where you have gone wrong in the past. Release any memories that have kept you in a pessimistic loop, as they will block your ability to see what truly matters in the present moment.
You can spend the day brooding about the looks and habits of someone who has joined the family through marriage. Money coming from various sources will keep you in a happy state of mind. A new fitness regime that you have adopted promises to keep you in the pink of health.

Horoscope SEPT 2022
New ideas about love, collaboration, and what you want in a partner could cause disruptions to your existing relationships. As things get rocky, your impatience may lead you on a search for deeper meaning as to why things are currently disconnected.

An excellent day is foreseen for people under this sign. You can be in line for some honour or award on the academic front. Something you have implemented at work is likely to profit the company and get you noticed. You are likely to celebrate the achievement of a family youngster in a grand way.

Your heart is not in your current job and it may show in your performance, so be ready to face the boss today. Don’t let your interest flag in studies, as it may become difficult to cope up at a later date. Money put together on previous occasions is likely to come in handy now.
Maintaining a good mental wellbeing will be the most important thing for you this month. Directing your energy inward will allow you to gain the strength needed to put an end to unhealthy work circumstances that have contributed to your stress.

n 1864, James Dennis immigrated to Australia on the ship Flying Cloud before marrying Mary Ann Markwell in 1867. Together they had 18 children, of whom 13 survived. Around 1870, they begin selecting land in the now Daisy Hill area, eventually acquiring over 800 acres and were the first Europeans to settle there. Naming the property after the numerous daisies their daughters saw growing on the hill on their property. The first recorded use of the name Daisy Hill was in 1905, when it appeared on the marriage certificate of Tilly Dennis, one of James and Mary Ann’s daughters, to Robert Morrow.
Another pioneering group in the area was the Usher family. They grew grapes in the fertile soil here, which were then made into wine and sold. Other industries employed in the town and nearby Daisy Hill State Forest included timber felling, honey making, gold mining and livestock
and married Nanny Dennis, one of James and Mary Ann’s daughters.

Sometimes getting started can be the toughest part. You don’t need to create an original mas terpiece though. You’re just finding a way to let emotions flow.
THE IMPORTANCE OF EXPRESSING EMOTION THROUGH ART
Expressing Emotion through Art
In order for emotions to move through us freely, they must be accepted and expressed. Doing so enlivens us and fuels our creativity. Fortu nately, experiencing emotions directly through art is fairly simple – if you allow for the process.
This could be done drawing, painting, sculpting, music, movement, writing, drama, what ever creative means allows you to open up and bare your soul. You needn’t be talented or skilled at any of these either. They are simply a means for expressing yourself.

And each time you create a work of art, you’re sharing new ideas, as well as different ways to express yourself. This can certainly serve as motivation for others.

Whatever you’re feeling these days, it can be a lot to carry. Expressing emotion through art is an incredible way to release those feelings before they get too deep and begin to create other problems. Sometimes simply stating what you’re experiencing isn’t in enough.
he world is a strange place right now. Downright surreal even. And it’s hard to deny that there are a lot of emotions at Interestinglyplay.
enough, the Latin roots of the word emotion are e (out) + movere (move). In an ideal world, emotions create feelings that flow naturally. But oftentimes they get dammed up.
Steps toward Self-Expression
Pablo Picasso once said, “Art is theft.” So while each piece of art is different, the inspirations are shared.

From a young age, John was deeply interested in timber and design, going on to study Indus trial Design at QUT where he got into furniture design. However, 2 years in he decided to change majors, transferring to Civil Engineering and Construction Management.
“What I wanted was to learn how to run a busi ness. Relating it to interior design and architec ture. That was my goal”, explained John.
“As we have an in-house designer, we can give free advice, particularly on interior design. We want to create an interactive, creative space where people can explore their ideas and proj ects while taking advantage of the free expert advice available,” explained owner, John, “We love to share ideas and advice, that is how we improve ourselves and grow”.

“Eventually, I had felt like I had learnt all that I could from him and decided to start my own business creating timber slab furniture”, stated John. “In my past role, I used to travel a lot to other countries and saw a lot of this timber slab furniture in a lot of premium hotels and liked the concept. Since then, I went away and did a look of research over the years, before starting this business a year ago. Opening our showroom in October.”
“We create everything, the skies the limit. The majority of what we do is tables; however, we also do benchtops, bars, floating shelves, kitch en vanities as well as custom work. Anything out of timber, we make” stated John, “However, while we make high-quality furniture, we want people to visit us for the experience. Try the coffee, feel the timber as you browse the showroom, ask questions, receive advice and most importantly have fun in the free DIY sessions.”
ave you ever wanted to learn how to use resin or have a go at wood burning? Enjoy barista coffee and tea while you take part in the free DIY woodworking classes and advice offered at Creative Timber World.
After leaving university, John went to work for his father to learn the ropes and get real-life experience learning how to run a business, before leaving to launch his own business.
“I chose timber slab furniture because I was familiar with this product. It is also unique and not a common product in the market. Like a fingerprint, each species of timber is different as they have its own colour, grain and shape. There is also variation between every piece.”

Horse riding instruction works wonders for the riders in assisting them in reaching physical milestones of improved strength, balance, gen eral mobility, postural correction and flexibility. However, it also does so much more than that. It develops self-esteem, a feeling of worth and a sense of personal achievement. It builds bridges in our community and develops social relationships and friendships.
In our July issue, we introduced Crowson Park Riding for The Disabled and the amazing work their volunteers do on a regular basis. Crowson Park Riding for The Disabled is a not-for-profit organisation that offers traditional riding tuition for physically and intellectually disabled people of all levels of ability and ages.

EYE HEALTH IN THE DIGITAL AGE
n this digital age we live in, it’s no surprise that we are spending more and more time in front of devices and screens that produce blue light. Not only do we expose ourselves to blue light for work and school, but if you factor in time watching TV or playing video games, our exposure is astronomical. Prevent Dry Eyes
When using our digital devices, we tend to blink less. Blinking is important as it helps keep your eye surface moist and minimises irritation. Make sure you still blink frequently and avoid rubbing your eyes as this can cause further irritation. Lubricating eye drops may help if you experience irritation.
To prevent cross-contamination, wash your hands and glasses regularly and allow your glasses to work as they should.

When kids do homework, it takes up a lot of their time. Sometimes, they have to stay up late to finish homework which can make them sleep in. That can make them late for school and they will be tired. Therefore, they will miss things in class and/or not pay attention because they are exhausted. This can affect their grades greatly!

As you can clearly see, homework causes kids to become sick, bullied, and tried. Kids will be annoyed and parents will be disappointed when their kids’ grades go down, which can create CHAOS! Homework MUST be banned!

When you are at school, what do you do? You work! You work for 6 to 7 hours a day. Then you need time to rest. But if kids have homework, they have to research and practice for things and that could take a very long time. By the time you finish, it would be dinner and bed time. When you have homework, you never have time to do things with your family. You can get stressed and that can give you depression and anxiety and it can also encourage bullying.

Whales are huge sea mammals and one of the most intelligent creatures on earth. In all the world there are 40 species of whale. Isn’t that wonderful! The beluga whale is one of the smallest whales on earth. They grow to between 3 to 5 meters in length. However, the dwarf sperm whale is even smaller! An adult dwarf sperm whale grows up to 2.7 meters only. These petite whales earn the crown of the smallest species of whales. Get ready for the very surprising win of the fin whale. They are the fastest type of whale you can find! Whales are a bit slow but the fin whale can swim up to 23 kilometers per hour which is fast for a whale. These mammoth marine mammals eat tons of

Therefore, no humans hunt whales anymore. Blue whales have no sea predators which is very helpful. Because the blue whale is so monstrous, not even the great white shark can kill it! The life span of a whale is 80 to 90 years. Whales breathe through a blow hole and they can hold their breath from 90 to an impressive 222 minutes which is the longest recorded whale breath-holding time.
