Infiltration brought about by a number of factors, including the government and private development foster an unjust and dominant economy and tax flow that primarily affects and excludes the marginalized communities, which once defined their historical and cultural identity. The influx of private developments, and constrained tax flow make it nearly impossible for low-income communities to keep up. In Old Fourth Ward, the rise of flashy new urban developments and uprooting of long term residents from their neighborhoods create a MOLD. How can we help in “Breaking this mold” of rampant urbanization that is rapidly consuming Atlanta?

For a world after property, we explore reprioritizing the concept of tax flow to counter the current urban development model. In this alternative vision, the model disintegrates into small, human-scale, revenue-generating businesses where marginalized communities come together forming resistance to create a flexible ecosystem. This represents a new system of exchange and ownership for communities to be selfsustaining. We envision the retouring of taxes in the form of tax credits and tax funds for the community, empowering residents to autonomously expand and sustain their own living area.

90% of the goods are transported by sea, and about 12 billion ballast water is transported worldwide through 90,000 ocean vessels. The ballast water harms the ocean so much that the GEF (Global Environment Facility) defined it as one of the four threats to the sea.

The ballast water is the primary medium that transmits pathogens and harmful aquatic organisms which are geographically isolated. The vibrio cholerae is one of the ten main invasive species by IMO (International Maritime Organization). Creations living in ballast water every day more than 7,000 kinds, and about 500 species are transported by ballast water in the

VISIBLE WOMEN INDEPENDENCE STUDY

2022.11.25-2022.12.10

LATE-NIGHT

When humans entered the agricultural society, the matriarchy came to an end. Males wore the trousers and females turned to be inferiors. Since then, women were unfairly treated. They lost the right to educate, vote, and work, which means they also lost their right to speech. The female was in the late-night.

EARLY-MORNING

Nowadays, people realised that gender inequality not only do harm to female, but also put more burden on male. More and more people start to fight for gender equality. Although the Supreme Court of the US overruled Roe lately, we still believe that gender gap will soon disappear. The female are experiencing the early morning of an equal world.

AT DAWN

After a long period of fight, women got their rights back slowly. A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with Strictures on Political and Moral Subjects, written by Mary Wollstonecraft in 1793, is the first feminist work in history. Since then, the voice of females became louder and louder.

The female could see the faint light on the horizon, they knew the night will soon be over.

People always think the girls prefer red while the boys prefer blue, when we mix these two colors, we get voilet. Voilet is a vague color, means rejecting gender stereotype.

CONFRONTATION BETWEEN DESIGN AND SUPREME COURT

As a feminist, was shocked when heard the decision made by the Supreme Court of the US in June 2022. It came to me that I can do something by design, so chose the green space opposite the Supreme Court to design a memorial landscape, hoping it can remind people of the critical event that happened in the first half year of 2022. To make a strong manifesto, I place the most significant part of the design right on the axis of the Supreme Court.

Ten staircases symbolize ten months of pregnancy, The depth of the water changes every month from March to December, providing people with abundant experiences in a single site.

April 60cm depth water

In April, the water is shallow, so it's safe for Children to play. Feminists can hold events here.

June 120cm depth water

In June, the depth of the deepest water area is 120cm so people can swim here.

January and February 300cm depth ice

In January, the pool is full of ice, and people can go for a skate.

THE PROCESS OF GETTING RID OF MALE GAZE

PHASE 1

The male gaze is prevalent

PHASE2

The male gaze reduced a little Foot-binding became widespread in China, it also hared the health of women.

Women are not allowed to expose skin in public

PHASE 2

The male gaze reduced a little

Girding became a new fashion in Europe, it harmed the health of women.

PHASE 3

The male gaze almost disapppeared

Women got more opportunities to work and education.

PHASE 4

The male gaze disappeared

Women can work on they like and compete with men equally. Some women even are politicians!

PHASE 3

The male gaze almost disappeared

Women could ride on a bicycle and wear pants.

Women can see themselves through the pool any time of the year. The pool and reflection remind women that they should give meaning to their lives by themselves instead of following what others say. Every woman should follow her heart and do what truly makes them happy and feel meaningful, just like they know what they see in the pool is the real one, not what others say about who they are. Women will firmly hold their rights and fight for the rights they lost.

EXPENSION BUILDINGS BUILT BY RESIDENTS

2022.12.5-2022.12.22 1950 1970 1987 Damn! It's really hard to find places for my lovely girls to play outside! Daddy, where are flowers and kitties? The alley and yards are not poetic at all. feel so disappointed and it's time to leave. Where am now? Let me check the online map... How I wish can jump on the roof like a cat to check where to go! The alley is narrow and dangerous for children. Mom said can enjoy my free time now. But there is nothing fun in the alley except videos and games on the phone. guess have to lie on the ground for a rest. think we should make full use of the remaining public space. Nobody could build extra buildings without permission of everyone living here. No plant and seat in the alley. The public yard is full of sundries. Extensions are everwhere in public yards. Where is my wallet? Need a holder to place my bag. almost hit those children... I was scared to death!!

EVOLUTION

The little building becomes the courtyard's center as a combination of many types of space. All kinds of activities take place here every day. Dull days living in the courtyard become dynamic and expectable. The relationship between residents living in the same yard becomes closer, and an energetic community builds up little by little. And also, the vertical walls provide more places for green plants. People get in

more with less place occupied.
