MEDIUM

As gradually explore how architecture and cities can maintain or reflect contemporary exploration of modernity, realize that responding to the relationship between architecture and the era requires a deeper understanding that architecture does not exist independently; it relies on elements such as the environment, information, material, and technology—all of which have personally observed in daily life. These elements can be categorized as influencing the essence of architecture. New creations are born based on existing elements, which can be seen as mediums. Architecture, too, operates in this manner, generating new possibilities through mediums. Consequently, methods and mediums offer a significant opportunity to reexamine architecture and expand our understanding of it.

In many of my projects, the potential for architecture to evolve into a new form based on mediums is evident, with mediums showcasing diversity. In the Battlefield Diary project, construction relies on palm trees, utilizing the renewable parts of abandoned palm tree clusters discovered during the transition as new resource mediums transformed into building materials and manufacturing tools. In two other projects, architecture is reliant on different technological mediums for its genesis. In the Port A Report project, the dependency is on machine technology mediums such as smart cold chain technology and isotope tracing technology, creating a large sensory facility establishing a dynamic agent to collect data between farming and orders, achieving precise supply and demand allocation and integrating with the surrounding logistics system. Another project, the Three-Dimensional Urban Cluster, relies on computational technology as a medium, transforming the once vertically and horizontally intersecting two-dimensional system into a truly three-dimensional spatial coupling state through cellular automata algorithms, resolving discontinuities within mountainous urban areas and issues of programmatic and physical isolation.

The above reflects my understanding of the initial relationship between architecture and mediums. This leads to the second layer: once architecture has the opportunity to become a medium and transmit meaning and information, it also becomes a medium itself with communicative properties. Just as Scott McQuire points out, as media become digitized and networked, the communication processes change significantly, impacting the dissemination of architecture within the city.

In the Mbti Supermarket project, the entire game's feedback mechanism stimulates behavioral data, facilitating the circulation of data and ultimately reflecting the characters' personality indices. In another project, the Port A Report project, a sensory machine facility has been created, continuously collecting big data on supply and demand to actively facilitate and predict connections and fulfill the media communicative function for surrounding communities and cross-regional demands.

As Peter Peters mentioned in the "Introduction" to Strange Clouds," "Any media philosophy is built on a foundation of natural philosophy. Media are not just various information terminals; they are also various agencies representing various orders." Therefore, will the fusion of architecture and mediums lead to new possibilities or orders in architecture?

Computing surpasses the realm of mere imagination and manual fabrication in simulating and meeting the demands of variables. This simulation involves human intervention but stems from natural and biological logic, with the optimal solution not being extreme, but a state of equilibrium. Confronted with terrains and regions of intricate information, computation, as a means and medium, transcends manual calculations and overall planning, being based on the redistribution of fluidity and data information. Particularly in the face of cities with spatial distributions dependent on mountainous terrains, though appearing as three-dimensional marvels of artificial traffic, they essentially remain extensions of 2D cities. Such extensions in complex environments reveal numerous issues, including nonlinear paths without shortcuts and inaccessible cities in close proximity, as well as spatial and demand disorder caused by unreasonable spatial occupation and intersections.

This proposal interprets urbanization as the integration of multiple interrelated and collectively operating layers of circulation, activities, behaviors, and information flows. These variables evolve and optimize into path structures embedded in existing systems as a way to organize and optimize cities, based on algorithms inspired by natural patterns. The generation and segmentation of space produce novel program combinations at different scales, creating cohesive service clusters that transition from point-to-point connectivity to serving multiple needs and purposes. Consequently, what was once a two-dimensional system of vertical and horizontal intersections transforms into a genuinely three-dimensional spatial coupling state, addressing the discontinuities within mountainous urban regions and the issues of programmatic and physical isolation. This new selforganizing strategy plays a role in control and mediation, resulting in a hierarchically diverse spatial state.

The functional cavity begins to deform in the direction of the pipe, and the pipe becomes an auxiliary tool for the evolution of the cavity. The function cavity extends the direction of the pipeline to bridge, strengthen the flow between the cavities, and finally remove the pipeline to form a complete flow form. Under the influence of grid-based and mechanized media, a new model emerges, combining nearshore aquaculture, e-commerce, and logistics centers. The resulting service network is located in ports abundant in fishery resources but witnessing a decline in traditional fishing activities. These sites strategically border existing logistics systems, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like isotope positioning to achieve optimized digital aquaculture, transforming the increasingly polluted marine resources into a development strategy.

The functions of buildings are replaced by automation systems to create a sensory infrastructure. Through technology and traceability, complete tracking and monitoring of the aquaculture environment is achieved, reversing food safety hazards. A shift towards unmanned operations and the implementation of advanced technology for efficient categorization, freshness locking, and harvesting through new positioning fishing methods result in increased yields. Simultaneously, the building, serving as a data hub, continuously gathers supply and demand data to provide real-time connections and predictions for the surrounding communities and cross-regional needs.

Visitors, whether tourists or buyers, can utilize the building's tracking data for remote communication regarding the environment and goods. The building, utilizing the latest technological media such as capsule containers, X-ray detection, nitrogen preservation, and intelligent cold chains, establishes a service process, an industrial chain, and creates intricate machine structures.

Human cognition has always relied on external means and references for measurement, from Jung's tests to the exploration of the fourdimensional octupole characteristics of personality, and further to the Overview of Keirsey's Four Temperaments. The media have brought closure to human character systems and progressively visualized them, a process attributed to the incessant uploading of data and information by humans for testing purposes. Supermarkets serve as spaces that stimulate dynamic data, encompassing choices in purchases and the establishment of usage patterns. New gaming mechanisms serve as a novel medium and testing ground, facilitating the transfer of personality information into virtual constructs. By engaging in tasks within others' virtual supermarkets as a means to conduct testing and disseminate data, individuals continually reflect upon their MBTI indices, which enable them to acquire personality currency for establishing their reflective supermarkets. Interventions in supermarket behavior drive the continuous evolution of virtual supermarkets, a form of evolution that parallels the externalization of one's own character. Ultimately, character dictates the trajectory of architecture, transforming what was once a materialistic supermarket into a spiritual reflection, with architecture emerging as a medium for showcasing and manifesting character. The realization of a personalized NFT within the supermarket marks a significant milestone, signifying humanity's comprehensive grooming of selfpersonality through virtual computations.

Post-battlefield refugee projects, based on the perspective of a field doctor's diary, document and gradually unveil the deliberative process surrounding post-battlefield refugees. This process includes discussions on migration paths, the gathering of resources for coexistence and regeneration with nature, and the continuous reversal of the status quo to achieve self-sufficiency as a crucial agenda. Decisively, by simulating the transfer period and discovering renewable parts within abandoned palm groves as new resource mediators transformed into building materials and manufacturing tools, a solution is achieved for modular units, components, and energy parts that are assembleable, disassemblable, and regenerative along the migration route. A novel architectural form emerges, integrating patterns of temporary residence, mobile healthcare, and agricultural planting systems. Throughout this process, renewable energy harvested through biotechnology and organic fuels serve as alternative sustainable resources, enabling control over resources and self-harvesting.

A new way of living in harmony with nature establishes local conventions and introduces the concept of autonomous regions. Simultaneously, this diary serves as the archive of knowledge and a symbol of collective autonomy for the local residents.

The local government and international organizations have provided multifaceted assistance, but many problems have not been completely resolved and humanitarian assistance is still ongoing.

Can the region develop a local industry that benefits both refugees and local residents, and the value that this industry brings can help others?

Wow! if it can succeed, it will be a good thing to benefit the people and the country

It will be more convenient for us to carry out our assistance operations if the local conditions can provide us with certain facilities

Yes! Palm trees!

The added value of the palm tree can provide valuable medical value to MSF while addressing local employment, refugee and resident issues

Palm trees can not only help people build houses and get living, but also make palm oil, provide economic support for residents and refugees, and relieve the pressure on the government. Moreover, I remember reading an article about making hydrogen from palm waste before, if palm trees can create hydrogen it must be able to solve some energy problems to a large extent, such as water and electricity. Or act on agricultural production activities and ultimately create a self-sufficient community

remember, saw an article earlier on the medicinal value of palm trees how could forget!

The trunk, leaves, fruits and so on of the palm tree itself have medicinal and other functions that can be used directly

The flowers, skins, roots and seeds of palm have certain medicinal value, and have certain effects on blood collapse, banding, diarrhea and so on.

For example, you can cook palm flowers, which have the medicinal effect of anti-inflammatory fire clearing, lowering blood pressure and preventing cerebral hemorrhage, of course, raw and cooked can be eaten

soften blood vessel- Treat high blood pressure relieving cough and reducing sputum

Rich trace element- Improves immunity Food Scrambled eggs with brown flowers

When we came to Obokum, we found that the health conditions of the local refugees still needed to be treated, many of them were respiratory diseases and infectious diseases. We still had insufficient medical assistance personnel. If the refugees knew how to prevent and treat some simple diseases, it would help us relieve great pressure.

This is my tally of local diseases: malaria,Respiratory disease,Scabies and other skin diseases,Surgical patient -Due to traumatic and non-traumatic injuries, hypertension,Chronic diseases such as diabetes

Astringent hemostasis, lowering blood pressure Canopy cover Dysentery

made of broom, brush, raincoat, pillow cushion, mattress, water tower filter and other tools

Maybe they can build ladder, the palm trees are 10 meters high, it's too dangerous to climb and then put the basket on the ladder for financial convenience

Palm fruit powder can be used to treat traumatic bleeding

Astringent intestine to prevent diarrhea

Detoxification snake bites, insect stings

Nourishing the heart, calming the mind, astringent hemostasis

Bleeding stops and dysentery rope

Moisture and corrosion resistance- excellent building material

A large amount of biomass is generated during the process

Stopping rhe bleeding and detoxify dysentery

With a place to stay, there is also a need to solve the living problems, using palm trees to

There are more refugees coming in today. There may not even be enough tents. And some of them are families who come together and want to live together, especially children who cannot be separated from their parents. And women need their own space and so on.

Mayebe it's possible to use palm trees to build houses for short-term living, but only use old palm trees and simply build them with the trunks and leaves in a sustainable way

They can use aerial ladders to cut down trees more safely and easily, and of course these trees are renewable. Because of the Clustering palms, which have multiple trunkscan regrow from the roots even if trunks arecut. 1 7

Today saw refugee women using palm leaves to weave tools, such as simple shelters.

I think Teng man can make baskets or more beautiful objects to sell around the scenic spot of Agbokim Waterfall, of course, they can also solve the needs of life,Obtain financial resources

The oil residues are collected and can be used as fertilizer for growing mushrooms read a paper before oil palm can be turned into renewable energy, perhaps using the organic matter produced by the palm, dark fermentation and light fermentation, to build hydrogen energy tower is possible!

Logistics reshapes new ways of working and places and accelerates urbanisation. Through the intervention of logistics, the urban fringe can be connected to the urban centre. Therefore, the focus is on logistics and urbanisation in the Rui'an port area. I will use two strategies to transform the current segregated state of the port area two, the first is to reset the function of the port area to strengthen the connection of the internal area of the port. The second is to connect parts of the port area fish the city to fill the gap of the city's logistics function, mainly with the logistics system, connecting the port and the city.
