TAUGHT CURRICULUM AND ACTIVITIES

Your child will enjoy a variety of activities and a structured balance of fun-filled and exciting learning opportunities.

Children learn by leading their own play and by taking part in play, which is guided by adults. We have a strong taught curriculum that is delivered imaginatively through exciting activities, both inside and out. Our expert baby staff have created a very caring and supportive family-based environment.

We swim, spend time exploring in our Forest School, go on outings, and have themed science weeks and activity days.

We are proud of our specialist teachers who add so much value to a young child’s development. Teachers of sport, creative arts, music and dance, maths and science, all add early years specialisms in education and care.

As children grow older, and as their development allows, they engage in RWInc. (Phonics, Literacy, Grammar and Reading programmes), Think Write, Numicon Maths, Abacus, Penpals Handwriting and Talk for Writing.

Our babies are learning to communicate and we use the ‘I can talk’ materials to support and track their learning.

Our weekly music and drama lesson is a fun way for children to explore and develop their musical and dramatic abilities and is taught by a music specialist. Our Nursery children also participate in many of the school’s musical and performing arts activities including the Christmas Nativity and assemblies.

Our dance lessons build self-confidence, self-esteem and performance skills, but also encourage children to use their imagination.
