Co-chairs of the QCVRN, Professor John Fraser and Dr Nathan Palpant, were in attendance and the eHRCATSH were able to discuss research priorities and activities of each member organisation. The workshop aimed to explore the potential of eHealth to support cardiovascular health for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. QAIHC extends a warm thank you to all participants and looks forward to further collaboration in the future. eHealth refers to the delivery of health using information and communication technologies. Consumers can connect to their health professionals via mobile health platforms (mHealth), websites, patient portals, telehealth, videoconferencing, or remote monitoring. eHealth can address some issues associated with health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples including; reducing the need to travel, time away from Country and family, costs associated with accessing health care, and increasing the range of services provided by ATSICCHOs. eHealth interventions can also increase family involvement in health care and have been adopted by First Nations peoples globally.
