Employee of the Month A.J. Geffert has been with Baker Motor Co. since he was a junior at the College of Charleston as an intern. A.J. has been with Baker Motor company for almost nineteen years. A.J. has done almost everything at the dealership from sales to finance. He is extremely personable and approachable with employees and customers alike. One of my favorite quotes is from my favorite book how to Win friends and Influence people “Don’t be afraid of enemies who attack you. Be afraid of the friends who flatter you”. SALES STORY Garrett Watson is a premiere salesperson who has been with Baker Motor co. for 5 years. Before sales he was a Land Rover/ Jag service Advisor. Before joining the Baker team Garrett spend 6 years working at AT&T as a IT specialist. One of his favorite quotes is “The pessimists sees difficulty in every opportunity.� Garrett is from Great Falls Virginia. He has a pet labor doodle named Mr. Bojangles.

BAKER NEWS TODAY This month at Baker Motor company we are gearing up for our long-awaited Sprinter dealership in Nexton Summerville. The Nexton project has been in the works for almost 7 years. This will be Baker Motor company’s largest project so far. “This will be a museum for our employees, their children and their children to come, I couldn’t be more delighted”, said Tommy Baker. The Sprinter dealership will be nothing like any other project since we have been in business for thirty two years.

Tomas and Lynda Prado are the proud owners of Spanglish Cocina+Bar. Tomas is a classically trained, Cuban-American Chef who always aspired to open a Cuban American cuisine concept in Charleston, South Carolina in honor of his heritage and love for his family.In his culinary career, Tomas has worked alongside some of the world’s most renowned Chefs including Daniel Boulud, Jose Andres, Sam Gorenstein and most recently has worked as the chef at Andrew Carmellini’s wildly popular rooftop restaurant and lounge “Westlight” in Brooklyn, New York.

His wife, Lynda, comes with an extensive background in hospitality and human resources.

Lynda is also the Creative Director and vision behind “cool Miami vibes” at Spanglish. With the help of her mom, she also brings most of the sweet offerings at Spanglish, such as her famed “2nd best flan” and her mother's Cuban rice pudding. Both were “born and raised in da County of Dade” and raised by Cuban families. Lynda was born in the City of Miami and Tomas was born in Hialeah… ya tu sabe.
