The Performing Arts Program allows DSOSN members to maximize and showcase their artistic skills and abilities, under the guidance and direction of trained professionals.
In a structured setting with coordinated training and scheduled rehearsals every Wednesday, members, cast, and crew, are continuously preparing for two major presentations each year: a stage production (the adaptation of a play) in June, and a variety show (singing, skits, dancing, etc.) in the Christmas season.
In addition to improving their confidence to perform in front of an audience, the Performing Arts Program creates an environment where our members learn how to work together as a team, while developing their verbal Communication skills.
Welcome to this year’s DSOSN Performing Arts Production of Grease Lightening, we hope you will enjoy!
Thanks for your continued support.

Hello everyone, I am delighted to welcome you to “Grease” the musical presented by the Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada Performing Arts Program.
My name is Page Davidson. I have been the music therapy director at DSOSN since 2023, and a Board Certified Music Therapist licensed to practice in the state of Nevada.
Jonathan Jimenez is the assistant director and choreographer, bringing back iconic dance moves from the 1950’s. Thank you all for joining us this evening for what promises to be an exciting performance.
I feel compelled to add that this show would not have been possible without the support and leadership of our Executive Producer, and the vision behind our Performing Arts program, Mr. Peter Whittingham, and we are happy to see that he is well enough to join us for the performance this evening.
We are thrilled to present this musical medley performance of Grease this evening, which culminates approximately 25 weeks of rehearsals by our cast members.
In this production there are seven Narrators who collectively tell the story of two Star-crossed lovers, Sandy and Danny. As you listen to the narration, please allow the scenes to unfold before you as they are uniquely portrayed by these singers, dancers, and actors in their own creative interpretation of this classic musical. I believe that as unique as they may be, our performers deliver the message of this high school romantic story in a most powerful way; so powerful that it resonates with their own experiences.
People, especially young ones, tend to clique up or stay in their comfort Zone, which can result in excluding others because of their differences. But what if we all became friends, and able to love and embrace the differences in each other? This could be the start of an "Inclusion Revolution," and this is what we are trying to do here at DSOSN. THANKS AGAIN FOR COMING, AND ENJOY THE SHOW!
