Upgrades

• The Peninsula High baseball program celebrates its recent field renovation and upgraded facilities.

The school and its supporters raised over $125,000 for field upgrades including a new Panther Park sign, infield and outfield improvements and a remodeled home dugout with other projects still to come.

Current players and their families, as well as the Athletic Booster Club and other donors helped raise enough money for field upgrades. Fundraisers included Christmas tree sales, restaurant nights and merchandising.

Goes Back A Ways Publisher’s

It’s been awhile. Since April 2007beginning right in the middle of the baseball season. Sixteen seasons later as a local community business — we’re still here. However, we are well past the seventh inning stretch. We might even be in extra innings and down to our last pitch. We’ll see.

A few weeks ago Silver Spur Little League renamed its A Field “Morgan Field” in honor of its former All-Star, now a Major League pitcher, Eli Morgan

Eli anchored a Silver Spur Majors team that won the King of the Hill championship. And he was also part of a very talented Peninsula High baseball team that had its season finish in a way that made national headlines. (Just Google: Wifflegate.)

We’ve seen some things up here on the Hill. And we’ve got another season lined up for more upsets, championships and strange happenings to report on. Stay tuned.
