• Peninsula Scouts continue long tradition of local volunteerism and Eagle Scout merit badges.

Mason Kramer of Rancho Palos Verdes has been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. Boy Scout Troop 276 made the award at Eagle Court of Honor last Saturday.

Mason earned 26 merit badges through the Boy Scout activities since he joined Troop 276. He completed his Eagle Scout Project in San Pedro.

Mason built and installed seven 6-foot benches for the Point Fermin Lighthouse, with help from other Scouts and parents.

The benches will provide a place for the youth and elderly to sit while listening to the tour information offered at the lighthouse and also to settle younger kids down before tours are given.
