Music and Lyrics for "Something Good" by Richard Rodgers. 2.3 Additional
A very long time ago, as a little girl, I saw the movie, The Sound of Music with my mother, aunt, and uncle. I was moved to tears at the end of the movie and didn’t know how to handle this tidal wave of emotions. When mom asked why I was crying, out of embarrassment all I could say was that I had a stomachache. I’m sure she wasn’t fooled. I played the record endlessly and memorized every song. Two of my friends and I staged a show of the songs on the front porch.
As I grew up, the idea that an actor could elicit that kind of emotion in an audience made me realize that I wanted to do that! I wanted to be an actor and give people the kind of experience that I had. And so, I did. I became an actor and was very fortunate to have an amazing career on the stage.
More years later, my five-year-old daughter played Gretl in a production I choreographed at another area high school. She grew up to be our Head Light Tech at PVI and still comes to set builds to help.
Many people have helped to bring this production to life – our tech directors, Ben Shannon and Megan Brusnahan, our talented student designers, our wonderfully generous parents, our Producers Committee moms who support our students and me in so many ways, the PVI faculty and staff, and our Head of School, Mrs. Laura Swenson, and our Principal, Dr. Tom Opfer.
With this show, we say goodbye to our brilliant graduating seniors –talented, dedicated students, always hungry to learn more and be better. They make my job a joyful and happy place to be. We will miss them.
Now sit back and enjoy the sounds of music and laughter and good triumphing over evil. If your response to this show is even a fraction of what I felt when I first saw The Sound of Music, I will have done my job.

Hunter Ambrose 2027 (Orchestra)
Camilla Anghelone^* 2026 (Marta von Trapp, Costumes Princess, Programs)
Who is this??? Hi, how doing! Cami is ecstatic to be in her last show as Marta von Trapp and costumes princess! This process has been so fun, and Cami wouldn't want to spend her senior show any other way. A million thanks to everyone who helped make this show so incredible, especially the von Trapp family. Every inside joke, moment of uncontrollable laughter, and text sent to the groupchat saying ‘‘missing VTC" is what made the show so special for Cami. It is no right that this is the last time everyone's on stage together, but the reality is she wouldn't trade it for the world. Enjoy the show! #lala #TYJ #soultie #VTC #goatedtrio #lockin
Lindsey Armitage 2027 (Nun)
Lindsey has loved The Sound of Music movie since she was little, so she is very excited to be involved in this production. She is also a cheerleader at PVI, and this is her first show!
Maryn Arseculeratne* 2027 (Stage Crew, Set Construction)
If you hear a crash, IT IS NOT MARYN.

Isabella Aufiero^* 2026 (Nun, U/S Friedrich, Props, Set Construction)
Isabella is super excited to be part of PVI's production of The Sound of Music. She was very surprised when she was asked to understudy Friedrich, but was very excited to do so. When she isn’t practicing for SoM or doing school work, she’s probably listening to music, and cracking the occasional really bad dad joke. This is Isabella’s PVI Theatre on-stage debut, but she has several award-winning performances in her bedroom and in the car. She hopes that the hills are alive with the good vibes from the cast and crew during performances!
Keira Aufiero* 2027 (Head of Stage Crew, Set Design, Costumes, Set Construction)
Keira Aufiero is the head of stage crew and is on the costumes crew. This is her 6th production at PVI, and she has had so much fun with the shows. She is so happy with how the set came out for this show. She is really sad to see the seniors leave, but they will be moving on to their next chapter. She hopes you enjoy The Sound of Music.
James Baker 2028 (Stage Crew)
James Baker is a sophomore, and he is ridiculously pumped for this show! He's never been part of an actual full-on musical before, so this first-time experience has him dancing with pure excitement. While you won't find him onstage, you might catch a glimpse of him moving a couch or two in the dark. Whenever he isn't being called by his full name to do something that he probably forgot to do, he is being called by his full name to do something that he definitely forgot to do. Wish him luck!

Nina Baker^* 2026 (Sophia Sophia, U/S Sister Berthe, CoHead of Hair and Makeup)
Ave!! Have you seen Maria? Nina hasn’t yet, but she is SO excited to be back on stage as Sister Sophia in this iconic production! When she’s not on stage solving problems like Maria, she’s offstage, running the hair and makeup crew with her amazing co-head (shout out Cesca) to bring this show to life. She has had so much fun singing and moving with a purpose around the stage, and hopes you enjoy the show!! #briggy #gabriellaburgos #siblingsophia #lala
Jocelyn Beach 2027 (Nun)
Gabriella Bergstrom 2027 (Props)
Gabriela Bergstrom is a junior who is a member of props crew. She is usually found during set builds up in the props loft, organizing and sorting things with the rest of Props. Gabriela loves writing stories, chocolate goodies, and being a part of the school’s theatre. Hope you enjoy the show!
Amelia Bizic 2027 (Ensemble)
Amelia is a junior. She has been in the PVI musicals during the past two years. She auditioned with an injured foot (which has mostly healed, fear not), and likes drawing and making stories of her own. She’s really excited to hopefully not miss strike due to illness this year (she is trying not to jinx herself). Her favorite Pokémon is Eevee. This has nothing to do with Theatre; she just wants people to know. Eevee is very cute.

Sophia Bonillo^ 2026 (Orchestra)
Hello, beautiful people, welcome to The Sound of Music! Sophia is once again your amazing drummer in the pit orchestra. She is so excited to be back in the pit and to not have to worry about a giant megamix this time. She is also involved in PVI Band and hopes you all will come out to support the Pops Concert in May :) Enjoy the show!
Kaitlyn Bradford* 2028 (Festival Trio, Ensemble, Marketing)
Kaitlyn is a sophomore and is so excited to experience her first musical at PVI. She can't wait to watch everyone sing and dance, and do amazing. She also thinks that the choreography is quite excellent. #stinky #waitdidn'tyouhaveadog?
Maddie Bradford^* 2026 (Ursula, Nun, U/S Elsa , Choreographer, Head of Programs)
Maddie is finally a senior! She cannot believe that this is her last production at PVI. To reflect back on everything that Maddie has experienced in PVI Theatre: she was a chorus girl, a hungry child, a girl in a one act she can’t really remember, a witch accuser, a girl who really wanted to get proposed to, a stepsister, a woman really worrying about those curtains, a girl who keeps getting nightmares #ronan, a girl who was tolerable but not handsome enough to tempt anyone (don’t even fear it turns out everyone was in love with her), a wife and a woman who believed in loving people, a radium poisioned girl, a nun/ “Frau Schraeder’/ actually Frau Schraeder. Throughout her journey in theatre, she has made memories and met people that she will remember forever. She wants to thank everyone who has helped her grow into the person and the actor she has become. For one final time, enjoy the show! #lala

Gabbi Burgos^* 2026 (Brigitta von Trapp, Co-Head of Marketing, Programs)
The hills are alive! Gabbi is SO excited to be marching back on stage as Brigitta in The Sound of Music! In the past, you might have seen her as Grace in Radium Girls or Pharaoh in Joseph. She is so sad that she can never do that again, but would like to thank her family and friends for always supporting her. So long, farewell, can’t wait to see you in the audience! #OLIM #vtc #TAHTAHTAH #briggy

George Cave^ 2026 (Kurt von Trapp, Set Construction)
This is George's first time being involved in PVI Theatre. George is a senior, so this is his first and only PVI Players production :(. He plans on majoring in one of the engineering fields in college. #VTC #BestintheISBVL #HairandMakeup=fire
Coco Celestini* 2028 (Baroness Elberfeld, Ensemble, Co-Head of Scenic Art, Master Painter, Set Construction)
When she's not working on her history notes or chemistry homework (shout out to Mrs. Smith and Dr. Kumar), you can find Coco laughing with her friends or cramming for a Mandarin quiz. Coco loves theatre, and this is her third show at PVI. In her free time, Coco likes listening to Blood Orange, reading up on sharks, and reading about psychology. She hopes that everyone enjoys the show, and she wants everyone in the show to know that she is so glad she got the opportunity to get to know and work with them. Have a wonderful night!

Camila Celis 2028 (Stage Crew)
This is Camila's second show at PVI! She is in the PVI choir, she loves to draw, read, theatre, and be with friends and family. She was previously in Radium Girls, and she loved the experience. She made many great memories, and she hopes to be involved in more productions in the future.
Cecilia Centeno 2028 (Stage Crew, Set Construction)
Cecilia, a sophomore, is excited to be working on her second theatre production. As a member of the stage crew, she is thrilled to collaborate with her friends and peers once again. Cecilia would like to thank her family and friends for their constant support.
Reagan Copeland* 2028 (Ensemble, U/S Frau Schmidt, Set Construction)
In the famous scale of ‘‘Do-Re-Mi,”” Reagan is definitely the “Re”—a drop of golden sun! Whether she’s singing in the ensemble or keeping the von Trapp house in order as the Frau Schmidt understudy, she’s having the time of her life. A huge thank you to Mrs. d’ for being the best director and making this show so special. Reagan is so excited to climb every mountain with this wonderful cast!
Mariso Corsino 2029 (Stage Crew, Set Construction)
Marisa is a freshman, and she is so grateful to be on stage crew for her second PVI show. This time, instead of only one, she has two full shows under her belt! With her many long hours of experience from Radium Girls, Marisa is so excited to be a part of The Sound of Music! She would like to thank her parents for driving her and for their endless support, and Alyssa Jones for making sure she doesn’t accidentally hurt herself or others during set build.

Victoria is a junior. She has worked on six shows, including The Crucible, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Pride and Prejudice, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Radium Girls, and now The Sound of Music. She spent most of this show’s set builds in the booth, reorganizing the whole thing. She would like to thank Olivia Lattanze '25 and Audrey Grimm for being amazing stage managers, Emma Jao for being an amazing ASM, and her dog, Dr. Cody Delacourt, PhD, for helping her study for the SAT and teaching her how to drive. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Sofia DiClemente 2029 (Costumes)
Sofia is a freshman and excited to be part of the costume crew for The Sound of Music. She has previous theatre experience and is happy to continue working behind the scenes on this production. Sofia enjoys contributing to the creative process and helping bring the show together through costumes. She thanks the cast, crew, and directors for a great experience.

Kate Doyle^* 2026 (Louisa von Trapp, U/S Liesl, Hair and Makeup, Set Construction)
Guten Tag! Kate Doyle is typically a senior, but tonight all you'll be seeing is the prankster, 13-year-old Louisa! When she wasn't busy putting toads in her governess’s bed, she was laughing backstage and making new jokes with her show siblings that she'll never forget. The Sound of Music has been Kate's perfect senior show, and she couldn't imagine doing it with anybody else. Enjoy the show! Auf Wiedersehen! #VTC #louita
Parker Ellison^ 2026 (Ensemble)
Parker is a senior, and this is her first show with PVI theatre! Although this may be Parker's first time in a theatre production, it's not her first time on a stage performing! When she's not at school, you will most likely find her at her dance studio with all her friends. Parker is so excited to be backstage with the cast and making memories that will last for a long time. She is so grateful to be a part of this show in her senior year and can't wait for everyone to see what we have put together. #GodBlessKurt #ThankYouJesus
Nico Flores^* 2026 (Rolf Gruber, Costumes, Programs)
Nico is a senior and is so happy to be performing in this show! He can't wait for you to hear ‘“16 going on 17,”’ and apologizes for his character's future actions...Nico will soon be going to a college for acting and asks for prayers on which college to attend! Hope you enjoy the show!!!

Emma Fuller 2028 (Sound)
Sophomore Emma Fuller returns to sound crew, having survived both Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Radium Girls, bravely enduring The Sound of Music while keeping its mics alive and under control. When she’s not running cross country or track, she’s running after actors, cables, or existential dread. Emma thanks caffeine, quick reflexes, and the mute button for making it all possible. #soundcrewbestcrew
William Gallagher 2028 (Admiral von Schreiber, U/S Franz)
William is a sophomore. This will be his second show at PVI, but it will be his first musical. He is very excited to watch and make fun of the rest of the cast with their singing and dancing. Seriously, the cast is great, and he can't wait to see the whole show come together. He can't wait to see this community come together and to see this show become amazing!
Kenzie Gaskill* 2027 (Co-Head of Sound)

Erin Griffiths 2027 (Gretl von Trapp)
Erin Griffiths is a junior and is thrilled to play Gretl von Trapp in her favorite musical of all time, The Sound of Music! She's so excited to yodel, sing beautiful songs, and fool around with her von Trapp siblings. (She also gets lots of attention because she's the youngest.) She'd like to thank Mrs. d” and Ms. Prince for making her dreams a reality, and her parents for getting her to and from rehearsals. She wants to thank everyone for coming and encourages them to climb every mountain until they find their dreams! #VTC
Audrey Grimm^* 2026 (Stage Manager)
Over the past four years, Audrey has learned a great deal from the people in her theatre life. From figuring out how to open and close the curtains on time to calling an entire show, this has been a wonderful experience she would do again in a heartbeat. From the bottom of her heart, she wants to thank her mother, who would wait for her during long rehearsals when she couldn't drive; her dad, who supported her and pushed her to go outside her comfort zone; and her siblings, who don’t understand what she does, but are supportive anyway. Please enjoy Audrey’s last PVI production; so long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye!

Katherine Heflin* 2027 (Liesl von Trapp, U/S Maria, Costumes Mistress)
Katherine is overjoyed to be a part of this production. Some of her favorite roles here at PVI have been Elizabeth in The Crucible, Joy in Cinderella, and Caroline Bingley in Pride and Prejudice. She is grateful to her friends and family for all of their support throughout the rehearsal process, and to Mrs. d’Alelio and the production for all of their hard work on this show. She is so proud of everyone in the cast and crew for their incredibly hard work! Hope you enjoy the show! #VTC
Cameron Herrera* 2027 (Max Detweiller, U/S Captain Von Trapp, Head of Light Design, Programs)
Cameron Herrera returns to the stage as Maximillian Detweiller in The Sound of Music. Herrera resorted to replacing sleep with Baja Blast to account for the sleepless nights he spent attempting to memorize two sets of lines, blocking, music, and choreography while also designing all of the lights for the show.
Kira Ho^ 2026 (Orchestra)
Kira is a senior, and this is her third musical performance as a flutist in the pit orchestra. She has loved playing alongside some of her best friends, her dad, and her little brother. Kira wants to thank her family and friends for their unceasing support. She feels deeply blessed for all the opportunities that have allowed her to grow in her musicianship and to share this experience with you.

Elizabeth Hubbard^ 2026 (Lights Princess)
Elizabeth is a senior this year. Her first production was Pride and Prejudice, and since then she has been here for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Radium Girls, and The Sound of Music. She plays the clarinet and is in Symphonic Band. She hopes that you enjoy the show!
Charlie Huly 2029 (Nun, Costumes, Set Construction)
Charlie imagines that before she answered God's call, the nun that she plays was known as Magdalena von Malapert, and sang as a coloratura Mezzo-Soprano at the Vienna State Opera. But Sr. Magdalena now sings hymns instead of Handel, and uses her voice as a means of glorifying the Lord. Charlie is overjoyed to be a part of this phenomenal production and hopes you enjoy the show!
Hayes Innis 2026^ (Orchestra)
Emma Jao* 2028 (Assistant Stage Manager, Props)
Guess what, your 3rd favorite stage manager is back and completely invisible in the black pants that she wears every day. In the sad months when Emma’s out of theatre, she’s probably found listening to the Marias. Emma thanks God and her family for always carrying her, her friends for being hype about theatre with her, and Audrey and Victoria for teaching her the best. Enjoy the show :)))

Rodrigo Jáuregui^ 2026 (Captain Georg von Trapp)
Rodrigo is a senior and has done every musical (and one play) since his freshman year. From understudying Jimmy Winter to playing the one and only Joseph, Rodrigo has assumed many roles during his time at PVI. For the purposes of this show, however, you may call him - Captain. Apart from telling his children to stand in a straight line and realizing that music isn't actually bad (after a little help from a certain governess), Rodrigo also enjoys kicking footballs and spending time with friends and family. He is so blessed to be able to finish off his senior year with this cast, and would like to send his endless love and appreciation to his parents, brothers (and sister), and friends for all their support. Enjoy the show! #AGTG #Elrey #VTF #Goatedtrio #oliviarodrigo #lockedin
Alyssa Jones 2029 (Hair & Makeup, Set Construction)
Alyssa is a freshman, and this is her second PVI production. She is notoriously the ‘“team hair braider”’ for the PVI Girls Soccer program. So when she finally did join theatre, there was only one logical crew for her to be on set construction!!! Oh joy. Alyssa has much enjoyed her time both slapping ridiculous amounts of hair gel onto people’s clean, freshly washed hair (we love hair and makeup crew) and also building for the set without losing any fingers. Solving a problem like Maria is hard, but solving ‘“the staircase is leaning”’ is harder. Enjoy the show people!
Kitana Jones^* 2026 (Props)
Kitana is a senior in props crew. She has loved the lovely memories of creating props with friends! Usually Kitana likes the lyrics of songs the best, but she can agree that The Sound of Music is the best.

Madison Jones^* 2026 (Props Mistress, Orchestra)
Madison Jones is a senior and cannot believe this is her final production with PVI Players. She would like to thank Mrs. d”, Ms. Prince, her fabulous props crew members, fellow orchestra pit members, the ‘“Benjamin Calypso”’yellow birds, and all the other amazing people she has met in this program for all of the priceless memories and opportunities they have given her over the last four years. She would also like to say one final time: Hi Mom!
Alexa Jordan^* 2026 (Mother Abbess, Set Construction)
Alexa is a senior and ecstatic, but sad to be performing in her last PVI Players production. Starting as a purple prohibitionist (Nice Work), she’s been accused of witchcraft (Crucible), danced for a prince (Cinderella), served as a maid (Pride & Prejudice), sold a brother (Joseph), and now helps a girl find her dream. She’s immensely grateful for her family, friends, and directors for supporting this wonderful experience for four years. She hopes you enjoy the show! ‘“I know that you’ll play a part in my heart when I start, that’s something I can guarantee”’ ~Billie Bendix, Nice Work If You Can Get It.

Genevieve Kaminski* 2027 (Sister Margaretta, U/S Mother Abbess)
Genevieve, a junior, loves dramas (The Crucible, Radium Girls), but she has a soft spot for lighthearted shows (Cinderella, Pride and Prejudice, The Sound of Music)! She’s played parts ranging from possessed teens to wicked stepmothers to pragmatic relatives, and now she embraces the nun-sense as bubbly Sister Margaretta and understudy Mother Abbess. A few of her favorite things are choir, going to concerts, and her dog, Lucky. She’d like to thank her wonderful family for always supporting her, and she appreciates and loves the cast, crew, directors, and everyone who comes to the show! :)
Jacob Kim 2028 (Orchestra)
Jacob is a sophomore. He is very tuff. We all love Jacob.
Catherine Kochenash^ 2026 (Orchestra)
Catherine is a senior and is a member of pit orchestra, playing the clarinet. This is her second show playing with the pit for theatre. She has been playing clarinet since fourth grade and taught herself alto saxophone freshman year. She is super excited that The Sound of Music is the musical for her senior year as it is one of her favorites, with her all-time favorite song from the musical being “‘Edelweiss.'” She is sad to be leaving the music program at PVI, but looks forward to continuing music as a minor in college.

Alex is a senior, and this will be her last of eight PVI productions. You’re seeing her as Sister Berthe in this production. Normally, Alex says ““look for her red hair”’ but her hair is covered, so look for someone who looks like they have red hair :)! Out of eight productions, Alex’s favorite was last year’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, she was the narrator in the light blue sparkling suit. Alex would like to send off her last PVI Players bio, before she continues her life with a performance degree with a quote from this musical. She would like to remind you all that ‘“Any Dream Will Do”’ thank you and enjoy the show!
Morgan is a sophomore and is thrilled to be part of this year's production of The Sound of Music. In the show, she plays a nun and is also the understudy for Louisa. She previously was in last year's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, where she appeared as one of the brothers' wives. She also is involved with choir at PVI. Emma Ladowicz^* 2026 (Nun, Set Design and Construction)
Emma is a senior. She has had a phenomenal time not only putting together The Sound of Music, but in every show she has ever been a part of. When she is not singing joyously in Latin as a nun in the Nonnberg Abbey, Emma can be found singing in the PVI Choir, writing stories, hanging with friends, or working at her job as a barista. As she prepares to say ‘“so long, farewell”” to her high school theatre career, Emma would like to extend one last thanks to her family and friends for their support, and, of course, caffeine for always keeping her energetic!

Luis Moreira^* 2026 (Friedrich Von Trapp, U/S Max, CoHead of Scenic Art, Set Construction)
Alas, Luis is reaching his end at this fine school; however, this time...it's like...for real (cue the sad violin music). This is Luis’s last musical here at PVI, and yet it is only his second. Sigh, if only he had joined the Theatre Department earlier in his high school career (don't like living 40 minutes away from school and not having a way to get home). Sorry, but Luis has to cut the bio here because he hears the wondrous sound of music calling to him (haha, get it). And as Friedrich would say...gooooodbyyyyeeeee! #VTC

Lexy Said^* 2026 (Frau Schmidt, Co-Head of Marketing, Hair and Makeup, Programs)
Lexy Said cannot believe this is her last production with PVI theatre! Her theatre career has been full of so many s’wonderful and s’marvelous memories and characters. A few of Lexy’s favorites were Charlotte Lucas, Helen Kroeger #missher #thegoat, Katherine Wiley, Beth Ward, and, of course, Frau Schmidt (don’t ever forget she runs the Von Trapp house). Lexy has absolutely adored all of her years in theatre and is heartbroken, distraught, active tears streaming down her face as Maddie is writing this to say goodbye to it. Catch her as a revolutionary in the fall (no she’s not going to GW University she’s quitting school and starting her own local militia). This is Keegan. He plays...““a couple”” instruments. He sews, but throws (shot put). This production will be his second, but his first time in...the PIT! Also...the man was on top the horse, and the horse was on top the car, and the car was on top the trailer, and the trailer was pulled by a car, and the car was on road, and the road was paved by machine, and the machine was pulled by car, and the car was built by man, and the man was on top a horse...and so on (if ykyk).
Ava Sheehan 2029 (Ensemble, U/S A Postulant, Set Construction)
Ava is a freshman. She is so excited to be part of another fun production. She was on crew for Radium Girls, and now she is on stage dancing and singing in the ensemble!!! Her favorite song from The Sound of Music is ‘‘16 going on 17." The cast and crew worked really hard for this show to be fun and amazing for them and for you watching. One Last Thing. Sit back, relax, and enjoy The Sound of Music!!!!!!!
James Skees* 2027 (Herr Zeller, U/S Rolf, Set Design and Construction)
James wanted to be honest — when he saw that we were doing The Sound of Music as the musical for this year, he was very excited, but he realized that he had never watched the movie before. He then attempted to watch it… BUT IT’S THREE HOURS LONG!!!! So he was not able to make it all the way through; he only watched through “‘Sixteen Going On Seventeen”” (because it is one of the best songs) and then he had to stop. But he has seen the stage version before, so he hopes that makes up for it :)

We could not be more proud of the young woman and talented actress that you have become. We still remember your very first elementary school performance in Mulan. Your confidence and joy on stage were just the beginning of something truly special.

Over the years, you have grown into such a versatile performer, taking on dramatic roles as in Radium Girls and bringing humor and energy to comedic performances as in Elvis in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. We will never forget how you lit up the stage!

Now, seeing you as one of the von Trapp children in The Sound of Music during your senior year feels like a fullcircle moment to us. Your dedication, talent, and passion continue to inspire us!

We are so excited to watch what God has in store for you next. Keep shining and following your dreams — we’ll always be cheering you on!
