I struggled writing my column for this month, and now I know why.

Every time I sat down to write, my mind was a blank, refusing to bring forth any semblance of words for me. I couldn't even put together a title for my piece. Nothing. Nada.

Not that I usually write my columns far in advance, but I really was trying to write mine sooner this month (This column and the Mindful Paganism one )

Now I know why.

Two days ago, my father passed over to the other side. It was unexpected, and from the way he was found, it looks like it happened quickly. He didn't even have time to sit in a chair.

I loved my father, but we had a falling out a few years ago over politics. While I sometimes got replies to texts, we had only spoken on the phone once in 4 years. (continued on next page)
