I am pleased to inform you that Purpose Path International will host its Fourth Annual Seminar themed “Purpose Path – The Path Made Clear” on Friday 17th March 2022, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Streaming via YouTube, the purpose of the Event is to expose high school and college students to pertinent information which would serve to guide their decisions relative to academics and careers post-graduation.

The Event promises to be youthful, engaging, insightful, inspirational, and impactful as it features a cadre of dynamic professionals from corporate Bahamas and the United States of America who will present on topics such as "Preparing For College," "Job Readiness," "Career Guidance," "Health & Wellness," "Entrepreneurship," "Wealth Creation," "Spirituality & Success," "Conflict Resolution," "Real Estate," "Music and Beauty Industries." As a takeaway, students will have the opportunity to be mentored by several speakers from this lineup.

In connection with this Event, we are further pleased to release this magazine which features Purpose Path International highlights 2022, speakers' biographies, scholarship announcements, and much more.

Sherell Brown is a former member of the Royal Bahamas Police Force where she served for 12 years in different capacities; however, the bulk of her service was spent in the Central Detective Unit (CDU) where she investigated major crimes. Her 12 year tenure came to an end in 2015

She then pursued a career in Media, where she uncovered her passion for Radio, Journalism and the Performing Arts. From this career move, Brown Inc Production and Entertainment Studios was born. Since then Sherell has produced several shows such as Real Talk With Sherell, a live online show that can be viewed or listened to on Soundcloud, Youtube and Facebook.

Sherell is the former host of Ask Sherell and is currently still producing a weekly podcast where persons can tune in from all over the world. Sherell gained her hands on experience from working at Radio Abaco 93.5 and also form hosting her own talk show at Shout 93.9 Fm formerly known as “Lady Rellz”

My name is Dacotah Fountain, a local makeup artist, mother, wife, mentor, and believer in Christ. I’ve been in the beauty industry for almost 12 years now, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I started my makeup career while studying Forensics in college abroad. It started off as a side hustle and just took off from there. Eventually after graduation, I moved back home with no money, no job, no clients. I literally had to start from scratch and work my way up one client at a time. This period was one of the toughest times of my career, but God.

Fast forward a few years later, I was afforded amazing opportunities to work on music video sets and with celebrities I have worked with Shaggy and Omi for their music video, Kenya Moore from Real Housewives of Atlanta, Soca Artist Allison Hinds, and International Motivational Speaker Lisa NicholsHall, just to name a few

I was also the lead makeup artist for the Miss Bahamas World pageant for two years. I’ve also worked with ALIV and BTC on some of their projects as well. I served as Brand Manager for Black Opal Cosmetics in The Bahamas and eventually opened up my own makeup studio.

My business is thriving and I travel all over the world doing what I love. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better career. One thing I never forget to do is thank God daily for every obstacle I've faced because those hard times strengthened my faith in Him.

Dr Tina Bethel-Mims was born in Nassau, The Bahamas, and has obtained a Doctorate in Family Medicine from the University of The West Indies, Mona

Dr Bethel-Mims has 16 years in general and Family practice, 12 of which have been with The Bahamas Ministry of Health, the Department of Public Health, and The Public Hospitals Authority where she has served as a medical provider and as a District Medical Officer and as a Family Medicine Specialist She was also one of the first physicians who volunteered to care for those infected with SARS Cov-2 during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in The Bahamas.

With a passion for her people, Dr. Mims has created instructional health prevention videos broadcasted on local Bahamian television stations and created Facebook Live broadcasts throughout the pandemic, as well as offering Q&A’s to make available medical advice in a time when many were unable to do seek it. She has also appeared on several local and international radio stations, (The Bahamas and USA) addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, disease prevention

Dr. Mims is an international member of the American Academy of Family Medicine and is certified by the Caribbean Association of Medical Councils. She has conducted research on weight bias and obesity in The Bahamas as well as women’s health research. Dr. Mims is bi-lingual, being fluent in English and Spanish, and enjoys international cuisine, cooking, reading, music, and traveling. Singer/songwriter Nishie L S known as a chameleon of sorts, exhibiting her vocal flexibility in genres such as r&b, soul, jazz, soca, classical, reggae, gospel, rake and scrape, country, rock, goombay, and Junkanoo has been performing from the tender age of seventeen; beginning in the genre of Gospel Music singing in churches, at conferences and concerts, and was a member of numerous gospel groups and choirs Since then, she has built a foundation that honed her ability by working with various popular Bahamian bands and has provided vocals on a plethora of studio projects for a variety of popular Bahamian Artists and Entertainers Nationally

1. Describe Nishie in three words

Tenacious, Chameleon, Bold

2. Who would you say is your role model and why?

I’d definitely say I try to craft myself after the likes of The Queen herself - Aretha Franklin. She was always stood out amongst many and blazed her trail, making herself an unforgettable beacon in th industry. I strive to do the same.

3. What does purpose mean to you?

Being able to make a difference in the lives of others, either through my music, mentorship, or simply by being myself. I do my best to carry myself in a way that stands out; to motivate others to embrace their individuality and uniqueness, in a way that not only pleases themselves but offers a positive outlook to others.

4. What challenges have you faced earlier in life and overcame?

Oh boy, life "be life-ing." Lol! My most difficult challenge to date is definitely motherhood and balancing my career with it. However, I’ll say that there’s no challenge I’ve encountered that I haven’t overcome. I believe strongly in the power of prayer, faith, and consistency in getting past what slows one down.

5. How do you stay motivated?

Music It’s my go-to for anything that hinders me from my focus It changes my mood when I feel stuck in a rut, it gives me the boost to keep going, and it’s my outlet when I’m frustrated The stage is my therapy

6. Is failure necessary for growth?

Response: Most definitely! In order for lessons to be learnt, you have to get a few no’s thrown at you Yes, you get burned from time to time due to ignorance; however, it shouldn’t be interpreted as a setback Constructive criticism should be an ally, not an enemy because it’s necessary for growth I’ve failed many times, and through those failures, I’ve learnt what to focus more on and what to throw away My failures became a part of what built the foundation for the Nishie you see today

7 Is perfection attainable?

Is this a trick question? Lol! You can strive for perfection as much as possible, but we were not created to be so God finds the beauty in each of us through our imperfections which makes us special and unique in His eyes

However, I feel that the stresses of life leave us feeling that perfection is the only option, and we drown in trying to meet that requirement therefore the only result is that we crash and burn. I’d never advise aiming for perfection, but striving to better the standard. Be the best that you can be. Nothing else is necessary.

8. What was one of your best moments in life?

I’ve had so many!!!! But the best Nishie L.S. moment would be the moment the crowd sang “Loose Me” word for word for the first time. I was literally brought to tears because it was a clear indication that I did everything right as far as my very first song. I was both proud and humble at the same time. It was by far the most memorable and now that will remain with me forever.

9. What are some keys to music writing and producing success?

Find your formula. Each person is different. Through trial and error, you figure out what works for you of style of writing and music creation as you incorporate your sound, vibe, and frequency. All of thes matter when you create music.

10. How can one "secure the bag" in the Bahamian music industry?

Whew chall!! Now you did it lol!!! In the Bahamian music industry, the only way I feel that it is even possible to secure ANYTHING really, as we do live in a society where “it’s who you know” that gets you anywhere, is to produce material so good that they cannot deny you Professionalism & knowledge of the business are key to ensuring that you’re getting what is owed to you, and humility gets you the rest of the way “A humble child shall taste the grace of God” and “manners and respect get you through da world!” Take my oath!!! Lol

11. What advice would you give to Bahamian youth wanting to enter the music industry?

Learn as much as you can about the music business There’s a lot of information out there and it can be overwhelming; however, you’d be far better off with it than without it Do your research, ask questions, and take it all in Being a part of the industry is more than just going on stage and putting on a show There are a lot of intricate factors that come into play which you will definitely need in order to be successful Knowledge is power Get you some!

A lawyer by profession she is indeed a philanthropist by heart, She has served on many boards as a member or chairman some of which include the Jamaica AntiDoping Association, The Cinematography Board, Sts Peter and Paul School Parent Teacher Association and School Board, Campion College Home School Association and School Board, and the Consular Corps of Jamaica

She works assiduously for and with the members of the visually impaired community in Jamaica and The Bahamas.

The most favourite part of her day is when she can enjoy either entertaining at home, skeet shooting, reading a good autobiography or watching her husband and two sons golf, fish, cook or play games.

Beijing Rodgers, the World Changer is a Life Coach, International Speaker & Youth Humanitarian Activist She is from the beautiful island nation of The Bahamas Her life's work and legacy are focused on creating thriving spaces for youth leadership, empowerment, and development

BodineVictoria, affectionately called "The Coconut Goddess" is a Caribbean celebrity and developing cultural icon in music, fashion, and food culture of The Bahamas She is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary entertainer, educator, and entrepreneur who is about the business of Bahamian Culture She performs at national and international concerts and festivals promoting Bahamian music A former CARICOM and Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, she is trained in speaking to motivate audiences and highlight the issues and concerns facing young people and the entertainment community on multiple stages local and international

As a producer, she independently scripts, shoots and hosts BodinePot, a web-based Bahamian cooking show streaming on YouTube, and is featured as a scriptwriter and host of multiple television and radio shows across multiple broadcast systems locally

Born Bodine Victoria Johnson, she holds a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from The College of The Bahamas and has taught for near 2 decades Currently, she is an Education Officer with responsibility for Multimedia in the Bahamas Ministry of Education, Technical and Vocational Training, the co-chairperson of the National Teaching Standards Development Sub-Committee, a member of the National Youth Advisory Council, and a member of the Creative Industry Tourism Council She is a 2022 graduate of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs and a member of the Nassau, Bahamas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated

BodineVictoria's primary focus is on the preservation and promotion of culture and community through the Arts while empowering others to pursue profitable and meaningful careers through creativity

Joel Moxey has been in the real estate industry for approximately twenty (20) years. He is a broker and appraiser who specialises in residential and commercial sales.

Joel has worn many hats. He has practised as a licensed insurance sub-agent with one of the leading insurance brokers in the Bahamas for many years. And he is a licensed marine captain and certified by the International Game Fish Association, a world-wide recognized body that oversees the code of ethics for the sport of fishing, record-keeping and marine conservation.

He has an Associate degree in business from St. Gregory’s Junior College, Shawnee Oklahoma, an accounting degree from Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and an MBA degree from the University of Miami. He is Asst. Treasurer of the Bahamas Sports-Fishing & Conservation Association. His hobbies are fishing, golf and swimming!

D’Arcy Rahming Jr graduated in 2012 from Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Robotics

After running a small video production company in the USA, he returned home and joined his father in Management Consulting There they both helped small and medium-sized businesses increase sales, and structure themselves for continued growth and investment With clients in the technology space, sporting community, property development, tourism and culture, and news media, D’Arcy Jr. got to see a wide variety of business models and company structures. Working with them he realized that most businesses lacked the capital to grow beyond what they were doing, and because so few bankers understood the variety of business models and their nuances, they were doomed to be undercapitalized. In 2017 with the adoption of the Crowdfunding Rules in the Bahamas, D’Arcy Jr and his father saw it as an opportunity to help businesses find the

funding they needed and help investors diversify their portfolios with fast-growing companies Because FinTech is a combination between technology and finance, D’Arcy Jr decided to upgrade his skills and go back to school, completing his Bachelor of Laws (with credit) from the University of The Bahamas in April 2022 After 4 years of licensing ArawakX, D’Arcy Jr is responsible for implementing core technologies and making sure that any technology solutions fit within our local and international regulatory environment Ultimately this is to facilitate ArawakX’s mission of raising money for companies from investors over the Internet.

He is also an avid martial artist, having represented the Bahamas as an athlete, coach, and administrator and is actively engaged in the education and sporting communities. D’Arcy Jr and the entire team at ArawakX have a passion for financial inclusion, business, finance, and technology. Our Programmes

Our programmes are designed to yield palpable, long-term results. Each programme is aimed at providing learning opportunities for Bahamian children, young adults, families, and communities who will benefit the most.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We offer partial scholarships to obtain degrees outside of the Bahamas at these levels:

3 levels

Scholarship applications are available once per year beginning in February. Students choose their own institution and field of study, and apply to us at any time, whether as a new freshman or a junior in college It is highly competitive

The nine criteria weigh financial need, academic merit, field of study, reputation of institution, career goal, availability of programme in The Bahamas, financial capacity, and personal qualities. There are no age restrictions.

SCHOLARSHIPS IMPACT

First generation college students

Students who complete their first degree in The Bahamas We invest close to 1 million annually for scholarships for some 100 Bahamians to study around the world at the undergraduate, graduate and technical levels
