ST. AUGUSTINE HIGH SCHOOL

LEADERSHIP MESSAGE

St. Augustine High School’s enduring legacy continues to profoundly impact the lives of young men and families across America. Established 75 years ago by the visionary leadership of the Society of St. Joseph’s of the Sacred Heart, Priests and Brothers, the school’s core values of wisdom, knowledge, and grace have been instrumental in shaping its community. The school and its leadership are embarking on an ambitious campaign to transform programming and invest in students, faculty, and the surrounding community. This strategic investment aims to provide the resources needed to further advance the school’s mission. As an alumnus and a member of the Board of Directors, I am deeply proud of St. Augustine High School’s remarkable achievements and eagerly anticipate continuing the service entrusted to us by God.
—Alfred E. Harrell, III, Chairman of the Board
This is an extraordinary time to be a Purple Knight. For 75 years we have shaped boys into men and led our community with distinction and unmatched character. Now, it is our turn to shape the future. We must continue to lead boldly and secure the next 75 years of excellence. The work ahead demands leadership, courage and commitment. This is our time. This is our home. This is our legacy in action.
—Aulston G. Taylor, President and CEO
We are truly blessed to have committed families, dedicated alums, and faithful community partners who continue to believe in our mission. As stewards of the Josephite Tradition, we embrace the opportunity to mold leaders who are intellectually prepared to solve complex problems, yet firmly grounded in the Gospel of Christ. Although times change, we remain steadfast in our firm belief that the Power, Will, and Grace of God will continue to produce Purple Knights deeply dedicated to excellence and service in our community and the world. We are truly grateful for your continued investment in St. Augustine High School. Gracia Est Vita
—Lasana T. Cambrice, Principal
St. Augustine High School is pivotal to raising the next generation of leaders to be champions and change agents in our community. This superb education would not be possible without the generous support of the family and community. I am incredibly proud of the Catholic and spiritual legacy of our institution. On this note, I would like to let you know that Christian virtue is at the core of our spiritual formation for our students. We at the school strongly believe and affirm that the formation of the whole person involves embracing and living the core values of our mission. I am exceedingly motivated to provide the next generation of black men with the leadership necessary to facilitate change for future generations.
—Rev. Etido Jerome, SSJ, Chief Religious Officer

LADIES FOR PURPLE SCHOLARS FOUNDATION
Investing annually in the young men of St. Augustine High School, the Ladies for Purple Scholars can always be counted on to impact the lives of Purple Knights and their families. With several signature fundraising events throughout the year including their Spring Scholarship Luncheon and “Muffins with Moms”, the one hundred and twenty-three Ladies for Purple Scholars are difference makers for the St. Augustine community.

“Simply put, St. Augustine is a generational life changer!! The success of our alumni tells the story. You will find St. Augustine graduates in corporate America, in the legal and medical fields, politics, entrepreneurs, sports and other industries. My experience as a student, alumnus, financial contributor and now a member of the Board of Directors, has been overly rewarding.”
