ST. AUGUSTINE HIGH SCHOOL

LEADERSHIP MESSAGE

As a proud alumnus and Board Member, I witness firsthand how St. Augustine continues to be a cornerstone of educational opportunity in our community. While the institution has evolved with the times, its fundamental impact remains unchanged. What resonates deeply with me is how often my contemporaries from other schools say simply, “We need a St. Aug.” Their recognition of our unique value affirms the vital role we continue to play in the community. This strengthens my commitment to ensuring our legacy of transformative education endures for future generations.

In calendar year 2024, our school experienced transformative growth. Yet, we are far from where we should be. As an institution, we have achieved so much with so little for so long. Now, with improved facilities, committed faculty and expanded partnerships, we are prepared to do more with more and demonstrate our desire to become the consultant of male leadership for America.

I’m often reminded that the sustainability and growth of our institution is carried and propelled forward by our dedicated alumni, foundation and corporate partners and friends of the school. This mix of community support not only signals hope for our future, it creates an unyielding sense of pride and joy that our patron SaintSt. Augustine of Hippo, would be proud to see represented today!

We are truly blessed to have committed families, dedicated alums, and faithful community partners who continue to believe in our mission. As stewards of the Josephite Tradition, we embrace the opportunity to mold leaders who are intellectually prepared to solve complex problems, yet firmly grounded in the Gospel of Christ. Although times change, we remain steadfast in our firm belief that the Power, Will, and Grace of God will continue to produce Purple Knights deeply dedicated to excellence and service in our community and the world. We are truly grateful for your continued investment in St. Augustine High School. Gracia Est Vita

St. Augustine High School is pivotal to raising the next generation of leaders to be champions and change agents in our community. This superb education would not be possible without the generous support of the family and community. I am incredibly proud of the Catholic and spiritual legacy of our institution. On this note, I would like to let you know that Christian virtue is at the core of our spiritual formation for our students. We at the school strongly believe and affirm that the formation of the whole person involves embracing and living the core values of our mission. I am exceedingly motivated to provide the next generation of black men with the leadership necessary to facilitate change for future generations.

June 3 - 11, 2024: The Marching 100 showcased their talents throughout Normandy and Paris, France to the Beaches of Arromanches-les-Bains, Brittany American Cemetery, streets of Sainte-Mère-Eglise and the Jardin D’Acclimatation to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of World War II and the Liberation of Europe. This once-in-a-lifetime journey made a significant impact on one hundred and thirteen students of St. Augustine High School.

ALUMNI CHAPTERS AND ORGANIZATIONS

As a school, we are blessed to have wonderful support groups that span across America. These organizations keep the school’s brand alive and present in their respective geographical areas. Their representation matters to our success.

ASSOCIATION OF ST. AUGUSTINE HIGH SCHOOL - MIDWEST CHAPTER

The Midwest alumni chapter of St. Augustine High School was established to bring together Purple Knights who are indebted to St. Augustine High School for instilling in us brotherhood and black excellence. Our intent is to share our story with the people of the Midwest, and encourage them to support the great institution of learning. We, as a chapter, are here and committed to support and uplift St. Augustine High School in the education of young black man who can and will make a difference in the world.

ASSOCIATION OF ST. AUGUSTINE HIGH SCHOOL - HOUSTON CHAPTER

The St. Augustine Houston Alumni Association has grown from humble beginnings into one of the most dynamic fraternal organizations in Houston. Our efforts are spearheaded through impactful events which generate funding that we in turn provide to our alma mater. We love our school, and as proud leaders in our community, we embrace the joy of “partying for a purpose.” We exist to ensure St. Augustine’s legacy thrives for generations to come.

ASSOCIATION OF ST. AUGUSTINE HIGH SCHOOL - NEW ORLEANS CHAPTER

The New Orleans “Home Chapter” is uniquely suited to not only offer scholarships to aspiring young Purple Knights, but also to continue to enhance their experience at 2600 via capital improvements and our volunteer efforts for the school. Rise Sons!

LADIES FOR PURPLE SCHOLARS

Ladies for Purple Scholars are a group of women who have created an organization dedicated to assisting students in financial need at St. Augustine High School. We are a nonprofit, with a 501(c)3 designation from the IRS, incorporated in Louisiana. 100% of all proceeds from fundraisers go directly to assist or St. Aug family.

CORNERSTONE CLUB

The Cornerstone Club of St. Augustine High School is a nonprofit organization that has acquired 501(c)3 status from the IRS. For better than thirty years, the club’s mission has been to provide financial support to deserving young men who wish to acquire St. Augustine’s quality education, so the school’s excellence and traditions are continued

ALUMNI ADVISORY BOARD

The St. Augustine High School Alumni Advisory Board (AAB) consists of volunteer alumni that directly support the school’s administration and operations. This support can be accomplished via fundraising, volunteering, or advisory. The AAB has a long history (over 25 years) of dedicated service to our historic institution. The AAB pledges to continue that support into the future.

QUARTERBACK CLUB OF ST. AUGUSTINE

The Quarterback Club of St. Augustine supports the young men of the St. Augustine football team in order to encourage their hard work. We support their tireless efforts and selflessness to make our football team the best it can be, dedicating countless hours in the weight room, film study, and practicing under the brutal heat and humidity of the New Orleans sun. They learn toughness and sacrifice. Our young men learn to work together, developing problem-solving skills needed to become successful. They learn to be more productive and efficient. Also, they learn to become leaders of men through coaching and learning all the qualities of a Purple Knight man. We believe in the program and will always be there to support, win, lose, or draw.

“St. Augustine High School is transforming New Orleans by helping students grow spiritually, academically, socially, and talentedly. There is no better place for a Black boy to become the man God created him to be. Giving to St. Augustine is an honor and a worthwhile investment into our community.”

LADIES FOR PURPLE SCHOLARS FOUNDATION

Investing annually in the young men of St. Augustine High School, the Ladies for Purple Scholars can always be counted on to impact the lives of Purple Knights and their families. With several signature fundraising events throughout the year including their Spring Scholarship Luncheon and “Muffins with Moms”, the one hundred and twenty-three Ladies for Purple Scholars are difference makers for the St. Augustine community.

“Simply put, St. Augustine is a generational life changer!! The success of our alumni tells the story. You will find St. Augustine graduates in corporate America, in the legal and medical fields, politics, entrepreneurs, sports and other industries. My experience as a student, alumnus, financial contributor and now a member of the Board of Directors, has been overly rewarding.”

“St. Augustine is like no other institution in the world. Its DNA simply cannot be replicated. The hope, confidence, pride, love, respect, education, humility offered to every young male that walks through their doors and down the halls is unmatched. As a lifetime supporter, I’ve witnessed scores of St. Augustine graduates become some of the best men I know. To future supporters, spoiler alert…the Purple Pride is infectious that will fill you with pure joy for a lifetime.”

“Your gift in life is what you do best with the least amount of effort. St. Augustine provides a safe, challenging environment for young black men to take their God-given talents and share them purposefully with the rest of the world.”

YOUR SUPPORT IS CRITICAL

It ensures that our school remains competitive and is able to offer a solid educational and social experience to current and prospective students. St. Augustine High School seeks to prepare students for college life after high school and beyond. We teach students how to think critically and creatively, how to write clearly and speak persuasively, and how to be prepared to meet the challenges of a diverse, sometimes harsh world as a young African American man.

Gifts to the Annual Fund ensure that essential day-to-day operations needs are met. Gifts to restricted endowments ensure our future success and guarantee the realization of visionary programs and initiatives. Gifts for special projects finance athletic, academic, and extracurricular experiences that are critical to the overall development of Purple Knights. With your contribution, you are allowing us to continue to make a positive impact on the lives of our students, on the future of our city and nation, and on the legacy of St. Augustine High School.

Thank you for your generosity and invaluable support.
