What can be done when Gold has the Audacity to soar
Gold has long been used as the de facto standard to protect products which are essentally used for joining electrical circuits. Gold is primarily used for its good electrical conductvity, resistance to corrosion and wear.
As a precious metal, Gold is one of the most expensive commodites to use, escalatng to new heights with litle sign of abatng, so it is vital that the correct determinaton of thickness is established to minimise costs and maximise compettveness.
With this in mind and in light of the industry drive for cost efectve solutons, Cambion Electronics Limited has released a lower gold opton against all of its standard range of sockets and connector pins, these would be partcularly adept in controlled environments where wear is not an issue but stll require excellent solderability and barrier propertes.
Additonally, Cambion Engineers collaborate with its customers to identfy the most suitable platng opton for their applicaton, performing environmental, electrical, and mechanical durability testng, as necessary.
Cambion is autonomous in its manufacturing capabilites with stamping, machining, moulding, automatc assembly and an equipped toolroom all under one roof at its ISO9001, ISO14001 and AS/EN9100 certfed Castleton, North Derbyshire facility.
Cambion, have a long and established pedigree for high performance electro-mechanical and inductve components serving the professional, automotve, military, aerospace, and industrial markets. Cambion is commited to ongoing product development. Contnual Investment, especially in the latest machinery, which has resulted in substantal manufacturing and assembly capabilites.

Power Integrations details 1250 V and 1700 V PowiGaN technology
Power Integrations has outlined the benefts of its PowiGaN gallium-nitride technology for nextgeneration AI data centres. The capabilities of 1250 V and 1700 V PowiGaN technology for 800 VDC power architectures are explained in a new white paper from Power Integrations, published at the 2025 OCP Global Summit in San Jose, where NVIDIA provided an update on the 800 VDC architecture. Power Integrations is collaborating with NVIDIA to accelerate the transition to 800 VDC power and megawatt-scale racks.
The new white paper details the performance advantages of Power Integrations’ industry-frst 1250 V PowiGaN HEMTs, illustrating their feldproven reliability and their ability to meet the power-density and effciency requirements (>98%) of the 800 VDC architecture. Further, the paper demonstrates that a single 1250 V PowiGaN switch delivers greater power density and effciency compared to stacked 650 V GaN FETs and competing 1200 V SiC devices.

The industry’s most customisable highvoltage reed relay unveiled
Pickering Electronics has introduced its most customisable range of high voltage reed relays to date, Series 600 – offering more than 2500 different combinations of rating and connection options. Utilising over 55 years of experience in the feld, Pickering has developed Series 600 in response to increasing demand for tailored high voltage reed relays. It employs a modular design architecture that allows engineers to precisely specify the rating parameters and connection options they require for their application, without compromising performance.
“We’ve been manufacturing high-voltage reed relays for more than 55 years,” said Robert King, Reed Relays product manager at Pickering Electronics. “While our catalogue relays meet most general needs, applications above 5,000 volts, or those with unique constraints, often demand something more specialised. Series 600 answers that call, giving engineers the fexibility to fne-tune key specifcations while maintaining the proven reliability of Pickering’s core technology.”
