This is a full circle moment for us at Pure Imagination!
The Wizard of Oz was the very first show we did, when we made our debut in Second Life, and although the spirit of the show has not changed, you’re getting to see a brand new show!
When we started out, we were operating out of a small theater. We took on the challenge of taking big musicals, such as this one, and adapting them down to a more intimate, immersive production, and now, with our gorgeous, Broadway style theater, we have the chance to produce this classic musical as the spectacular spectacular it should be, while still maintaining the heart of what we do best (drawing our audiences into the story, and giving them an experience they’ll never forget)!

Ella Woods (Dorothy/Winkie): This marks Ella's eighth performance at PIT! She was previously as Annie, in Annie, Belle/ The Old Beggar Woman/Enchantress in Disney’s Beauty & The Beast, and Mimi Marquez in RENT. Ella would like to thank the entire cast for their hard work, and their talented ability, and willingness to wear multiple hats (and costumes) to pull this off, and Buddy Woods (you'll see him tonight as The Cowardly Lion, but in his day to day, he is Ella's loveable, and loyal fur baby)! Ella would like to dedicate this to the dreamers of the world. Who believe there’s something out there that goes beyond their wildest dreams, but also know that they can always come home!
Rock Michigan RockAndRoll AllNight (Uncle Henry, Marvel, Coroner, Apple Tree 1, Nico, Gatekeeper, and Wizard) : Rock is over the rainbow to be playing his biggest role to date, playing the Wizard in what is arguably one of the best known productions of his childhood! He has previously played the dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Tom Collins in Rent, and Rooster in Annie, just to name a few. In RL, Rock has been cast as a baseball team member in Damn Yankees, and also enjoyed a period as Eddie in a Rocky Horror shadow cast. Rock is pleased to be a member of the cast for 2023’s first play of the year and to work with such a great ensemble of actors. He would like to dedicate his performance in this show to his RL and SL families, for it is family that defines home, and there really is no place like home!

Melissa Rose Gardner (Aunt Em/Glinda/Winkie on Flying Monkey) :This marks Melissa’s third performance at Pure Imagination Theater. She would like to thank Ella Woods who gave her the chance to shine in a principal role. She has been with SL for 2 years and 3 months , and has learned so much! She would like to dedicate this to the awesome place that has given her her husband, Jon Gardner, and my new adoptive daughter LIsa Rose Gardner .
Jamie Hellfire: (Scarecrow/Hunk/Munchkin Mayor): is making his acting debut in Second Life, and at Pure Imagination Theater in the . His real life experience was mostly doing Rocky Horror Picture Show Midnight screenings in a shadow cast. A Long time ago he was in a pantomime version of Cinderella, where he was originally bitten by the well-known Theater Bug! Jamie would like to thank Miss Ella Woods for giving him this opportunity ,and to all his fellow cast members. Jamie would like to dedicate his performance to every theater nerd out there!

Blake Gardner (Tinman/Hickory/Munchkin)* : is making his debut performance with Pure Imagination Theater. He has done live theater in high school in real life. He would like to thank Ella Woods, who gave him the opportunity.

Buddy Woods (Cowardly Lion/Zeke/Lollipop Leader/Crow): Buddy has previously performed as Sandy in Annie, Maurice in Beauty and The Beast, Mark Cohen in "Rent", Mr. Mushnik in Little Shop Of Horrors and as Mr. Fox and Madame in "Cinderella". Buddy would like to thank the entire cast for being so supportive and for making this production possible. He would also like to dedicate his performance to the person who always looks out for, and takes care of him, Ella Woods.
Jasmyn Gardner (Wicked Witch/Ms. Gulch/Emerald City Citizen):
Jasmyn I am doing her fourth play with Pure Imagination Theater. She truly enjoys doing these plays, and working with the amazing people who have become family ,and will always remember this experience. She would like to thank Ella Woods for letting her perform in these plays. She hopes everyone will enjoy the plays and the hard but fun work we all do, to put these plays on for all of you.
