CONCERTO COMPETITION WINNERS

Mei Mei Rossi is a Doctor of Pharmacy student pursuing a BA in music and a minor in chemistry. She was raised in Zionsville, Indiana and is currently in her fourth year at Purdue University. Alongside her academics, Mei Mei has been a 1st Violinist in the Purdue Philharmonic Orchestra for four years in addition to performing with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and serving on the Purdue Foundation Student Board.

Mei Mei began violin lessons at age five and later learned the flute and piano. Throughout her musical training, she was a violinist in the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra for 10 years, a singer/dancer with Zionsville H.S. Show Choirs, and a 1st Violinist in the Indianapolis Symphony Sideby-Side program. As a 2025 Keller Competition winner, Mei Mei performed the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra and conductor Kellen Gray.

Throughout 17 years of private lessons, Mei Mei studied with Noelle Tretick Gosling, Stanley Chepaitis, Peter Vickery, and Chin Mi Kim. Mei Mei is ever grateful for her time with PBO and is excited to perform one of her favorite pieces, Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy, with the Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Adam Bodony.

Victoria Knott hails from Bolingbrook, Illinois, and will graduate this May with her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She started piano lessons at age seven and began learning percussion through school band programs at age nine. She continues to stay fluent at both instruments and plays piano for theater workshops, concert bands, church services, and more.

At Purdue, she has spent five years as a percussionist in the Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and the “All-American” Marching Band. In the AAMB, she previously served as a student leader on tenor drums and most recently as a Drum Major. Victoria was formerly a Vice President for the Purdue Student Engineering Foundation and currently works as a graduate teaching assistant for the mechanical engineering department. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue last May.

After graduating, she will be joining Trane Technologies as an acoustic engineer with their commercial HVAC unit in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She is endlessly grateful to PBO for five years of music and mentorship, and is thrilled to bring Prism Rhapsody to the stage with the Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Pam Nave.
