Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London As part of the most-extensive and complex multi-millionpound restoration in the hotel’s history, Purcell lead a dynamic design team to deliver multi-award winning success. The team included internationally renowned interior designer Joyce Wang, who redesigned all rooms and suites inspired by the natural beauty of neighboring Hyde Park and the glamour of the 20th century Golden Age of travel. New York-based star interior designer Adam Tihany redesigned the hotels two restaurants, bar and spa.

Coworth Park Spa
Having created a luxury 21st Century country house at Coworth Park, the Dorchester Collection required a unique eco luxury spa in the heart of the protected Surrey green belt. The ingenious design and fast track programme created an eco-luxury spa building buried within the landscape which quickly became an icon, synonymous with contemporary luxury spas; a new standalone building to provide an exceptional, modern spa experience in an undeniably English setting with an eccentric spirit, to add to the exclusive Dorchester Collection of hotels.

Our multi-award winning restoration transformed the Irish, neoclassical masterpiece of a country house into a five star, 21st century hotel rooted in the historic glamour of its 1880 heyday. Our design team of architects and heritage consultants drew from the history of the estate’s buildings and landscape to prepare conservation management plans and inspired designs to unlock the renovation and development of the estate.

Confidential Minley Manor
The project at the Grade II* listed Minley Manor aims to restore and upgrade the estate following a history of ad hoc interventions, alterations, and neglect when under the ownership of the War Ministry, now the Ministry of RemovingDefence. intrusive interventions and restoring many of the original spaces, the proposed designs aim to enhance and safeguard the historic house and grounds while creating a high-end hotel and spa.
This project involves the £35m transformation of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, the renowned venture of Chef Raymond Blanc, into an ecodestination with a focus on local produce and experiences. Purcell are the architects and heritage consultants designing and delivering the site-wide scheme which will see the creation of new guest facilities and lodgings and Le Manoir

RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS
Wildernesse House
Purcell was appointed architect for the restoration and conversion of Wildernesse House as well heritage consultant for the entire site. This involved transforming the Grade IIListed Georgian building into 23 highend, luxury apartments. Spa facilities, communal spaces and wellness areas were created within the stately home, where residents will enjoy a level of service reflecting that of a traditional, country estate.

This grade II* Manor House is located on the edge of the Marlborough Downs, within the North Wessex Downs area of outstanding natural beauty. The clients aspiration for the site was to create a residential development of 54 new houses that will enhance the sites special historic character and setting.

Working closely with the client we developed proposals for an ultra sustainable country estate. Purcell led a scheme for a carefully designed landscape masterplan to restore the historic estate, comprehensive restoration and refurbishment of the Grade II listed Victorian Mansion including gaining consent for a full basement below the listed house and a 20m x 8m pool with spa facilities and a gym within a bold contemporary extension with interior design collaboration with a New York based interior designer. Nottingham Castle is a highly significant site with a large number of heritage assets, the site has been in use for over 950 years. Purcell were appointed to complete the design for this scheme, which includes conservation and repairs to the existing monuments, walls and buildings, a new-build visitor centre pavilion, refurbished and extended galleries and exhibition space, relandscaping of the grounds and improved access across the site.
