PULSE PICS
Awards, sunsets and shrooms and knitted tributes...here are this month’s Pulse Pics.

Milton Keynes Museum director Bill Griffiths has collected his MBE, awarded for services to Museums and the community in Milton Keynes in Her Majesty’s New Years Honours List. At the Investiture the MBE was presented by Prince William. Bill said: “It was a perfect day. It was just a shame that I couldn’t take all those that had given me support over the years. “I hope that they all know how much it is appreciated.”

Milton Keynes Mayor, Cllr Amanda Marlow had to make do without her official mayoral chain when we became a city and the bling was updated. It now says ‘Milton Keynes City Council’ and Amanda is proudly wearing it at events again. He’s not just a very funny man, he’s a superb artist too, and the new collection of unique prints by Billy Connolly, entitled Free Flight Variations, is now available. The collection was released in a celebration of Billy’s 80th birthday and various editions are available at Castle Galleries at Acorn Walk at centre:mk. Eagle-eyed shoppers might also have spotted works by Johnny Depp in the gallery in the summer. In Newport Pagnell, Knitting Nana clicked her needles and created a poignant postbox topper to mark Remembrance Day. “It’s a cause close to my heart because my dad and my sister are veterans,” she said. She also ‘knitted up’ a splendid AgeUK window display with a banner featuring the names of those from the town who died in service. The mysterious creator added: “I want to keep their memories alive and highlight the sacrifices that were made by so many.”

Ace photographer Gill Prince captured this striking sunset at MK Rose, and she caught the ground level beauty at the Tree Cathedral too, with these striking parasol mushrooms.
