I would imagine by now you’ve come to realize that I wear my emotions and feelings on my sleeve. At this moment, more than anything, I am feeling pride. I am so profoundly filled with pride as I watch my dear colleagues begin the new school year. They love what they do, and they are great at it.

A particular pride point during the first week of school was watching our team help students out of cars, welcome them into buildings, or just greet them as they cross campus to begin their day. In each interaction, I witness joy and connection. To know and be known is one of the great gifts we can give our students. Research shows that such is a top predictor of success. My pride comes from witnessing such, not as an educational strategy, but rather as a natural way of being.
I do believe we are setting the stage for the year to come. With positive relationships as the foundation of our community, any and everything is possible. I’m starting to understand and appreciate the ingredients that make a Pulaski Academy education so unique and special. I’m proud to be a small part of such a big thing!
