HBI names continued strong housing demand, low interest rates, a shortage of properties, and a deep pool of well-qualified home buyers as the main reasons they expect the housing market to remain strong in the coming year. In their words, “A general cooling trend for home prices seems possible...but a housing market crash, not so much.”

It looks like 2021 will be another good year for refinancing. Mortgage technology and research firm Black Knight believes more than 18 million homeowners in the U.S. could substantially reduce their monthly savings by refinancing their existing home loans.
