There’s a hyena who lives in the heart of the jungle. He finds himself funny, but when he tells a joke, his friends don’t laugh, they run away.

Maybe hyenas don’t like jokes about fish these days. So he tries to tell the fish, but they get offended and swim away.

He tries to tell the birds, but they don’t laugh.

They fly away.

He thinks about telling the lions. But lions are scary. So this time, he runs away.

It looks like no one wants to hear his joke. There’s no giggles at all, and that doesn’t feel good. Now Howie isn’t laughing either.

But then! He hears a laugh! And he looks up. And the chimps, swinging about in the branches, are laughing at his jokes.

The chimps pull him up into the tree tops, just about not dropping him. And that’s where he stays, laughing the days away.
