Summer Après
A CHEF’S GARDEN, LUNCH AT FLANNEL, AND SUMMER APRÈS
Summer brings a di erent rhythm to Stowe. Long days on the trails, tennis courts, and mountain roads create plenty of reasons to slow down, gather, and enjoy a meal outdoors. This season, Topnotch is adding another reason: lunch has returned to Flannel.
Back by popular demand, Flannel’s lunch menu celebrates the flavors of summer with favorites like lobster rolls, shrimp ceviche, and fresh seasonal salads. Guests can also enjoy spa-inspired Bento boxes, perfect for a relaxed afternoon by the pool.
Many of the ingredients that define the season begin just steps from the kitchen in Chef Travis’s garden. What started as a personal passion more than a decade ago has become an integral part of Topnotch’s culinary identity, with vegetables and herbs inspiring dishes and cocktails throughout the resort.
That influence can be found across the menus at both Flannel and The Roost, where Vermont cheeses,
garden-fresh produce, and locally inspired flavors take center stage. Fresh mint from the garden stars in the Mint Cucumber Smash for a cocktail that captures the essence of summer in Stowe.
Because in Vermont, après has never been limited to ski season. At Topnotch, summer brings its own tradition—rooted in fresh ingredients, mountain evenings, and the simple reward of a day well spent.

1.5 oz. Green Mountain Vodka .75 oz. simple syrup seltzer

Wellness, In Place
HOW STOWE’S NATURAL BEAUTY INSPIRES A MORE THOUGHTFUL APPROACH TO WELLNESS AND SUSTAINABILITY
Few destinations possess the natural beauty of Stowe. From its forests and trails to its mountain views and working landscapes, the character of this place has long been one of its greatest assets. At Topnotch, preserving that legacy remains an ongoing responsibility—one that influences how we operate, the experiences we create, and the partnerships we pursue.
For us, wellness begins with connection—to ourselves, to one another, and to the environment that surrounds us. That perspective guides the treatments we o er at The Spa at Topnotch and the brands we choose to bring into our wellness experience.
Our new partnership with emerginC reflects this belief in wellness with purpose. Known for its results-driven skincare products, the company has also distinguished itself through a series of environmental initiatives that extend well beyond the treatment room.
ENGLISH LEATHER GRAND PRIX
Since 1996, emerginC has paired innovative skincare with a thoughtful commitment to sustainability, including a buy-one, plant-one tree program, the use of wind power in its operations and manufacturing, and a partnership with CleanHub that helps prevent plastic waste from entering coastal waterways. With every product purchased, approximately four ounces of plastic waste are intercepted before reaching the ocean.
We also value the brand’s thoughtful approach to ingredients, with formulations free from parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, and more. Their dedication to ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients makes them a natural fit for Topnotch, and we are excited to now o er both facials and body treatments with this product line.
Together, we are proud to o er spa experiences that deliver exceptional results while supporting a healthier future for the places we all cherish.
THE SUMMER THE PROS PLAYED IN STOWE
Tennis has been part of Topnotch’s identity since the resort first opened, helping establish Stowe as more than just a ski destination long before year-round mountain travel became the norm.
That legacy reached an international stage in 1979, when Topnotch hosted the English Leather Grand Prix tournament at its tennis center. The event brought some of the biggest names in professional tennis to Vermont, including world No. 1 Jimmy Connors, who captured the singles title in a dominant fashion during the tournament’s run in Stowe.
Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, Topnotch’s courts became a regular stop for professional exhibitions, elite instruction, competitive tournaments, and destination tennis programming. At a time when tennis culture was exploding across America, Topnotch emerged as one of the sport’s defining resort destinations in the Northeast—combining serious tennis with the mountain setting and hospitality that still define the property today.
More than four decades later, that connection to the game remains central to the resort. The courts, academy programs, instruction, and tennis community continue a tradition that helped shape Topnotch from the very beginning.
48 Hours with Stowe Land Trust
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
TOM ROGERS’ GUIDE TO STOWE
If you had just 48 hours in Stowe and wanted to experience the landscape that defines this place, where would you begin?
According to Tom Rogers, Executive Director of Stowe Land Trust, the answer starts beyond the village and beyond the mountain. “What many visitors miss is just how real and working this landscape still is,” he says. “Farmers are working those fields, loggers are managing forests, and families are navigating a year-round relationship with this place that goes far beyond recreation.”
His itinerary begins with a swim at Foster’s, followed by a mountain bike ride through the forests of Cady Hill. From there, a hike to the summit of Stowe Pinnacle o ers a sweeping view of the valley’s farms, forests, rivers, and ridgelines. End the day at Sunset Rock, where the town settles beneath the Green Mountains.
Many of these experiences exist thanks in part to the work of Stowe Land Trust, which has helped conserve more than 3,000 acres of scenic, recreational, farm, and forest land throughout the community. Through the Forever Stowe Partnership, Topnotch and Stowe Land Trust have created a simple way for guests to give back to the landscape they enjoy. A voluntary $2 nightly contribution, matched by the resort, helps support Stowe Land Trust’s ongoing work to conserve and steward the community’s natural resources—from working farms and forests to trails, rivers, and scenic open spaces. Together, those contributions help preserve the landscapes that make Stowe special.
THROUGH ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH STOWE LAND TRUST, TOPNOTCH IS HELPING ENSURE STOWE’S FORESTS, TRAILS, VIEWS, AND OPEN SPACES REMAIN PART OF THE COMMUNITY FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
