FINAL LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT Greetings to everyone, I am truly delighted and excited by this first newsletter, completed by the law society, by extension, the publications committee, led by Annike Harte. This newsletter is one of our new initiatives as we bring greater communication on what the law society has done over the year. It is a snippet of all of the good things that have been completed, and the expectations of what students wanted. I strongly believe that a newsletter of this magnitude (edition) should continue in every law society, so that we bring awareness to what governance is about in terms of the tenure in office as a law society and also in terms of the management of the law society affairs.

Within the year, we have launched the law society survival guide, the plaintiff magazine, and today we are launching the newsletter. I would like to thank everyone for participating virtually (online), of this academic year 2020/2021. May God continue to bless each and every one of you, as we continue to grow the legacy of the law faculty. We love law. Your president, Quincy Jones JP

FINAL LETTER FROM THE LAW SOCIETY EXECUTIVE

As our tenure comes to a close, it was our greatest honour to serve you for this academic year. We faced numerous challenges this academic year as we took up office in the midst of a global pandemic, nevertheless, we succeeded in most of the tasks we set out to complete for the academic year.

From the staff awards, gala and awards, games night, movie night, inaugural debate competition and the CGF competition, our law week festival was done in fine style. We say our final thank you to the student body, teaching staff and all other persons that attended our virtual week of activities.

This newsletter serves as a compilation of all the tasks that we carried out for the academic year. Some in person and some online. Although, some of our plans to reign in our 50th anniversary did not come to fruition because of the pandemic, we succeeded in transforming all of our events into an online format.

IN THE AREA OF INFRASRTUCUTURE AND BEAUTIFICATION DEVELOPMENT

We have refurbished the notice boards throughout the faculty. 3. We have lobbied for additional electric plugs to place in the pit and our lobbying was successful and as such three new ones have been installed. 4. The Faculty of Law has provided new benches (increased seating capacity) – there are currently 7 ones. 5. The Faculty of Law have installed an overhead projector and screen. 6. Our Law Society office is now relocated in a new space.

The Law Society conducted it's prize giving for the winners during law week. Congratulations to those recepients of awards.
