There are lots of opportunities for you to get stuck in and serve all across Jesus House. Using your skills, talents and time are all integral parts of ‘giving’. Generosity (of Time, Talent and Treasure) is one of our core values here.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE AT JESUS HOUSE | THE WORKFORCE

The Workforce Most of the church functions are run by a large team of volunteer-workers but we are always on the lookout for more people to join us so we can jointly carry the everexpanding responsibilities across several teams. Volunteers are required to sign-up for and go through a series of classes called ‘Workers Training’. These are designed to adequately equip you for your service role.

A 1:1 interview is also likely to take place with leaders in the church before you get allocated (posted) to your place of assignment. Signing up to become a volunteer worker brings you into the centre of the Jesus House family. Here you will get to connect with other family members and get to continue along a discipleship journey.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE AT JESUS HOUSE | SPECIAL MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer For 4 In February/March of every year, Jesus House rests it’s entire volunteer workforce and invites members of the congregation to step in and take on various serving roles for a four (4) week period. This season is usually a great opportunity for people to get a taste of what it is like to serve in ministry. A high percentage of people who volunteer during the ‘Volfor4 season’ end up going through the workers training to become regular and committed volunteers.

Special Ministry Opportunities From time to time and particularly during the Summer and Christmas seasons there are usually extra opportunities to serve on community projects. e.g.

Summer ...

Celebrating Life This event is about Celebrating the Senior Citizens in our Community. Abigail’s Court ministry is a dedicated group of women who pray and care for the senior citizens in our community. Each year the ministry organise the annual ‘Celebration of Life’ event for senior citizens in Brent and Barnet. At this event guests are treated to a three-course meal to celebrate their lives and their achievements, accompanied by great musical sing-along with the Tribe of Judah choir

Jesus House Football Academy The academy creates an opportunity for young people to receive first class coaching from FA qualified football coaches. Young people will not only be taught a number of football skills including shooting with accuracy, long and short passing, improving your first touch with both feet and dribbling with effect but they will also learn about respecting others, time management and good communications skills.

ACTS - “A Call To Serve.”

It is our opportunity to bring the love of Jesus to the community in practical ways. It is a free service in which we go to people's homes to do a variety of home maintenance tasks: ◦Mowing lawns ◦Trimming hedges ◦Jet washing bins & paving stones ◦De-cluttering ◦Trash removal ◦Raking

Christmas ...

Christmas Lunch on Jesus This is an outreach where Jesus House and other local churches distributes hampers full of Christmas festive necessities to families in desperate and needy circumstances. We need you to join the army of Jesus Christ Ambassadors who make this a reality.

Spreading Christmas Cheer During the Christmas season, Jesus House and other local churches come together to spread Christmas cheer to commuters in the Barnet area by serving hot beverages, a snack and a comforting chat on a cold December morning. We need you to join the army of Jesus Christ Ambassadors who make this a reality.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE AT JESUS HOUSE | COLINDALE FOOD BANK

Colindale Food Bank Colindale Foodbank serves and works to meet the needs of people who find themselves in crisis situations throughout the year. Food is donated by members of the public either directly to the foodbank, or through local supermarkets and churches.

Leading up to Christmas and at other times of the year, i.e. Harvest Festival, Supermarket Drives take place –at this time, Jesus House joins in the National Supermarket drive to collect items required to stockup the Foodbank. You can join in to make this a reality.

We are supported by volunteers to help us serve people in our community efficiently.

Most of these opportunities will have training and induction sessions to quickly get you up to speed with serving in these areas These seasonal opportunities require a lot of preparationthroughout the entire year.

Therefore, you can volunteer for these seasonal serving opportunities at any point during the year.

Church Office Opportunities From time to time, opportunities will also arise for volunteers to offer their services in the church office.
