SDA 2021

The objective of the this assignment is to formulate problem in educational institution during pandemic and identified formulation of the problem based on research analysis. Subsequently compose an arguments about the reason for raising certain problem or scenarios based on data and theory and capable to convey the idea through representation drawing.

Site interventions and tectonic explorations are the basic requirements as a means to design the previous school ideation. Few explorations have been conducted to mitigate certain issue regarding the physical and non-physical apects from the chosen site.

1. Fluidity : represents the design of space for flows of individuals, sight, sound and air (Caudill, 1954).

2. Versatility : indicates the property of space that allow for multiple uses.

3. Convertibility : designates the ease of adapting educational space for new uses. Space designed for convertibility requires an imagination for future eventualities; it should possess a degree of modularity and open-endedness at a structural level, a design open to re-design by others (Brubaker, 1998).

4. Scaleability : describes the property of space for expansion and contraction (Brubaker, 1998).

5. Modifiability : is the spatial property which invites active manipulation and appropriation (Legget et al. 1977).
