The previous website was built on WordPress.com using a ready-made theme. Over time, the limitations of that setup made it hard to grow and experiment. That led to the decision to rebuild everything from scratch for more control and flexibility.

Having daily experience with Elementor and WordPress at work helped with the backend understanding. Building something from absolutely nothing brought more challenges than expected. Thanks to YouTube tutorials and AI tools, it became possible to learn whatever was needed along the way.

LocalWP was used to install WordPress locally and build the site on a personal system first. The same structure as the old site was kept, but with complete freedom over themes and plugins. Content for core webpages remained consistent, while design and flexibility improved significantly.

The old WordPress site had been live long enough for Google to treat it as the canonical background. To align the new site properly, older content was purged and links were updated wherever possible. Consistent branding and messaging across the website and social profiles help search engines understand what Psyden Crafts is about.

Old webpages with duplicate content were deleted and removed from Google Search Console where needed
Internal hyperlinks on the new site were updated so they point only to the new domain.
The old version of the site still exists in some form to maintain continuity for links that cannot be edited in older social posts.
