This program information includes all student information, not just specific to the College of Health and Human Development. The data available in the participation chart above only includes HHD students. Faculty-Led Embedded Programs The Embedded Program numbers below represent the last full year of programming (AY 20182019) prior to the cancellation of all Spring and Summer 2020 embedded programs due to COVID19. The College of Health and Human Development operated 6 Faculty-Led Embedded Programs during AY 2018-2019. Total program leaders = 13 Total program participants = 84 Faculty-Led Freestanding Programs The College of Health and Human Development currently has 11 Faculty-Led Freestanding Programs. Please note, all programs were canceled for summer 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID19 pandemic. Copenhagen, Denmark: Biking Culture and Urban Design (Summer) This program is operated by HHD and the College of Arts and Architecture (LARCH) Program leaders: Melissa Bopp and Malika Bose Department: Kinesiology Europe: Hospitality Management Studies in Europe, Dept HM (Summer) Program leader: Dan Mount Department: School of Hospitality Management Grenada, West Indies: Pre-Med at St. George's University (Summer) Program leaders: Lori Gravish and Brooke Owen Department: Kinesiology Mang'ula, Tanzania: Parks and People (Summer) This program is operated by HHD and the College of Arts and Architecture (LARCH) Program leaders: Larry Gorenflo and Carter Hunt Department: Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management

Split, Croatia: The Global Sustainable Fork and Food System Economics in Croatia (Summer) Program leader: Armit Sharma Department: School of Hospitality Management This program was established in 2020 but has yet to run due pandemic-related cancellations in 2020 and 2021. It is not set to run for summer 2022. West London, United Kingdom: Kinesiology, Youth Sport and Athletic Welfare (Summer) Program Leader: Alison Weimer Department: Kinesiology Global Health Fieldwork Programs Dana Naughton, the director for the Global Health Minor, manages several programs Global Health Fieldwork programs in Ecuador, Germany, Mexico, South Africa, and Tanzania. As part of the Global Health minor, students must complete a supervised fieldwork experience, either internationally or domestically, for a period of approximately five weeks during the first summer session, May through June. For summer 2022 the programs to South Africa and Tanzania have been suspended due to ongoing complications related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Overview of International Agreements in the College of Health and Human Development The College of Health and Human Development (HHD) has fourteen (14) active agreements. In response to our 2021 Annual Report, HHD noted the following. 1. Hong Kong Polytechnic University in China. EA MOA signed on March 22, 2021, and due to expire on March 23, 2026. 2. Outward Bound International in the United Kingdom. General MOU signed on January 19, 2021, and due to expire on January 19, 2026. 3. Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania. Summer program MOA signed on May 6, 2019, and due to expire on May 6, 2024. “This agreement was active with consistent engagement by MUHAS faculty prior to the pandemic. Collaborative activity has definitely been impacted by COVID-19, as well as changes in key faculty at MUHAS. Agreement will be reviewed prior to expiration.” 4. Grand Banks Preparatory School in Canada. General MOU signed on March 23, 2019, and due to expire on March 25, 2024. “Inactive, little to no contact.” 5. University of Limpopo in South Africa. Summer program MOA signed on March 14, 2019, and due to expire on August 31, 2023. “This is an active agreement with contact maintained during the pandemic. Although student travel will continue to be limited, collaborators on both sides are committed to ongoing work and programs.” 6. Jinan University in China. Research MOA signed on June 11, 2018, and due to expire ono June 11, 2023. “The two funded collaboration projects have been completed; due to the recent travel restrictions and political tension between China and the U.S., collaboration has not been active.” 7. Charles Darwin Foundation in Ecuador. LOI signed on January 31, 2020, and due to expire on January 31, 2023. “Please renew the agreement with the Charles Darwin Foundation. They are subcontractors on one NSF grant housed in HHD (PI Hunt) and a named international partner on another NSF grant housed in the College of Engineering (PI Brennan, Hunt is senior personnel). PSU thus has a strong ongoing collaboration and may soon want to "upgrade" this LOI to a MOU. Keeping the LOI in place will facilitate that upgrade, when/if needed.” 9. University of Cape Town in South Africa. LOI signed on November 22, 2017, and due to expire on November 22, 2022. “Allow agreement to expire. This agreement was developed through PINGH, not the Global Health minor. There are no specific collaborations or relationships with Univ. Of Cape Town faculty or programs and we’ve not been engaged with the institution.”

10.Outward Bound Oman. MOU signed on October 31, 2017, and due to expire on October 31, 2022. “This should be continued. The collaborations have seen a hiatus as a result of covid but will be reinvigorated when we visit this winter and are in discussions about growing collaborations in the coming year and in the process of applying for a large grant.” 11.Jinan University in China. General MOU signed on July 1, 2017, and due to expire on July 1, 2022. “The two funded collaboration projects have been completed; due to the recent travel restrictions and political tension between China and the U.S., collaboration has not been active.” 12. Bond University in Australia. EA MOA signed on March 9, 2017, and due to expire on March 9, 2022. 13. Jinan University in China. LOI signed on January 1, 2017, and due to expire on January 1, 2022. “The two funded collaboration projects have been completed; due to the recent travel restrictions and political tension between China and the U.S., collaboration has not been active.” 14. Brunel University in the United Kingdom. EA MOA signed on June 1, 2011, with no expiration date. “This is still a very strong collaboration with Brunel University.Kines students are always excited to be a part of the program and Brunel does a wonderful job hosting!”
