Faculty-Led Embedded Programs DuBois has not operated any Faculty-Led Embedded Programs within the past 5 years. They have attempted to run 3 embedded programs in the past 5 years, but they have been cancelled due to low enrollment.

Faculty-Led Freestanding Programs DuBois has not operated any Faculty-Led Freestanding programs within the past 5 years.

NOTE: Michelle Smeal, currently a Global Programs employee, was employed at the DuBois campus from 2014-2016 in the Outreach and Continuing Education department.

This campus has collaborated with the Beaver campus in the past for international programming. DuBois also have a good relationship with the Altoona and Fayette campuses for non-credit programming. Although not in the timeframe of AY 2015-16; the DuBois campus successfully collaborated with the Beaver campus in Spring 2015. They jointly ran an embedded program to Dublin, Ireland (LA 197/SOC 197) with many participants; 35 students and 5 faculty members.

International Agreements at Penn State DuBois Overview of Penn State DuBois International Agreements Penn State DuBois, as a University College campus, is included in the scope of the Vidyalankar articulation agreement and the University of Guanajuato MOU. The Vidyalankar agreement expired on July 25th, 2021, and a renewal is currently in progress. DuBois does not have any other international agreements.

Since 2015, DuBois has provided the following feedback in response to our Annual Reports. Please note: since DuBois has noted that they have not engaged in activities under the agreements, DuBois was not asked to complete the 2021 Annual Report.

1. R1.University of Guanajuato in Mexico.

Feedback on 2017 ARIA “Penn State DuBois has not been a participant in the agreement with the University of Guanajuato and the University College. Most recently, the international activity on the campus includes embedded study-abroad courses and other international travel by students led by faculty. The campus also hosts a small number of international degree-seeking students each year. Going forward the campus will seek opportunities to enhance the global experience of students, including greater participation in study abroad programs, recruitment of international students, and engagement with continuing and new international agreements.”

2. R1.Vidyalankar School of Information Technology in India.

Feedback on 2015 ARIA “DuBois has had no activity under this agreement. We will maintain the agreement until its expiration date of 6-10-2016.”

Additional Information for Penn State DuBois Along with Altoona, the Penn State DuBois campus is part of what is considered the Upper Central region of the Commonwealth.

Fast Facts Dr. M. Scott McBride was appointed Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer at Penn State DuBois in March 2017, following the departure of Melanie Hatch the previous year.

How many students are enrolled? ~600 students attend classes at Penn State DuBois with no international students currently enrolled (see page 3).

Majors In addition to the more than 160 majors that can be started at Penn State DuBois and competed at another Penn State campus, students can remain at DuBois for their full college career if they major in one of 6 Bachelor’s degree programs offered here in their entirety. Penn State DuBois also offers 8 Associate degree programs.

Where is it located?

Established in 1935, the DuBois Center of The Pennsylvania State College operated out of four rooms in the Old Hubert Street grade school building. Today, Penn State DuBois is a commuter campus with 12 buildings on a 5-acre campus.

Does it have residence halls?

Penn State DuBois does not offer on-campus housing. Approximately 15% of the students enrolled here live in off-campus housing.
