Brewer Jan. 24, 2015, Orlando, FL hen I think of the Diocese of Central Florida, the words that immediately come to mind are Paul’s opening words in the Letter to the Philippians: “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion, until the day of Christ Jesus. It is right for me to feel this way about you since I have you in my heart.” I’m especially grateful for those who pray. There was a time just this past year when I felt like

several of our congregations were actually under significant spiritual attack and I quickly turned to Krisita Jackson, the President of the Daughters of the King, and I asked her to call the Daughters to prayer. She did just that and I am happy to report that the crises of those days are past us. The landscape has cleared, but only to reveal new challenges and new opportunities. Our lot in life is to be a people on a pilgrimage, serving Christ faithfully in sacrificial service, having the joy of seeing God move in our midst while at the same time, always longing for the return of our Savior to come and to make things right. It is, you see, this tension that we will always live with as followers of Jesus, that on the one hand,STORY ON P. 4
